Third person's POV
The morning was still young, the first cock hadn't even crowed when Aiden arrived at the secluded stream deep within pack territory.
He settled himself onto a fallen log, his keen eyes scanning the surrounding forest.
"Well, we are early. Very early." Aiden's wolf pointed out, his tone carrying a hint of tease.
"I couldn't sleep anyway. Better to be prepared." Aiden replied his wolf, muttering to himself.
"You mean you couldn't wait to spend time with our mate." His wolf commented smugly.
Aiden let out an amused scoff.
"Stop being silly. She is the Alpha. This is about the ritual, nothing more." He said firmly.
"Keep telling yourself that, but I feel your heart racing whenever she is near." His wolf chuckled.
"She barely tolerates us." Aiden stated as if to remind his wolf while adjusting his position on the log.
"So, why are we here?" His wolf countered.
