Chương 21: Wolfsbane

Third person's POV

The errant member of the entourage, a middle-aged tall man gasped at Chloe's declaration, the sound echoing off the cold stone walls of the hall. Something in him told him it wasn't an empty threat. The air grew thick with tension, almost palpable as it settled heavily on the shoulders of every of the entourage and their Alpha.

Instantly, the man felt remorseful, his stomach churning with guilt. He thought it would be better to apologize so he wouldn't cause trouble for his Alpha. He opened his mouth to talk, but a piercing glare from his Alpha shut him up immediately. The intensity of that gaze sent a shiver down his spine. 

For a moment, there was a deafening silence, the tension cutting through the air like a razor-sharp blade.

When Chloe was convinced that there wouldn't be any further protest, she cleared her throat, then turned to face Ethan, her golden eyes glinting in the dim light.
