Two hours after breakfast, the plane began its descent, and the cabin lights brightened to help passengers prepare for landing. It was still morning, and Haeun looked out the window to see the vast landscape of Country J stretching out below, dotted with bustling cityscapes and scenic countryside.
An attendant approached with a cheerful smile. "Hello, sir. We're starting our descent now. Is there anything else you need before we land?"
Haeun shook his head, feeling a sense of satisfaction with the flight. "No, thank you. Everything has been wonderful."
The attendant nodded. "I'm glad to hear that. If you need anything at all, don't hesitate to ask."
As the plane descended, Haeun glanced around at the other passengers, most of whom were beginning to stir from their rest. The descent was smooth, and the captain's voice soon came over the intercom.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are approaching our destination. Please make sure your seat belts are securely fastened and your seat backs are in their upright positions. We will be landing shortly."
Haeun took a final look out the window, feeling a mix of anticipation and relief as the cityscape of Country J came into clearer view. The plane touched down gently on the runway, and the cabin crew prepared for disembarkation. Haeun felt a surge of excitement as he gathered his belongings, ready to step into a new environment and begin his stay in Country J.
The plane landed smoothly at Haneda International Airport, and Haeun disembarked with a mix of excitement and nervousness. The bustling terminal was alive with activity, a stark contrast to the quiet of the flight.
He navigated through customs and baggage claim, picking up his suitcase from the conveyor belt. With his belongings in tow, he exited into the arrival hall where he was greeted by the sight of travelers and airport staff.
A driver, holding a sign with Haeun's name, was waiting just outside. After a brief exchange, Haeun followed him to the waiting car.
"Mr. Haeun, welcome. I'll be taking you to your new home," the driver said, opening the car door for him.
"Thank you," Haeun replied, settling into the plush seat. As the car began its journey, he looked out at the scenery, noting the lush greenery and picturesque countryside.
"This place is beautiful," Haeun remarked, glancing at the driver. "I can see why it's so peaceful here."
"It is indeed a lovely area," the driver agreed. "We're almost there. The house is just a bit further up this road."
The drive through the countryside was tranquil and scenic, with rolling hills and vast fields stretching out on either side. After a while, the car turned onto a winding path that led to Haeun's new home.
As they arrived, Haeun stepped out of the car and took in the sight of the house. Nestled among tall trees and surrounded by a well-kept garden, the property was everything he had hoped for.
"This is perfect," Haeun said, taking a deep breath of the fresh country air. "Thank you for bringing me here."
The driver unloaded Haeun's bags and carried them inside. "If you need anything else, Mr. Haeun, just let me know. I'll be around if you need assistance."
"I appreciate it," Haeun said. "I'll be sure to reach out if I need help."
As the driver departed, Haeun began exploring his new home. The house was spacious and charming, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The peaceful surroundings and the serene atmosphere were exactly what he needed.
Stepping out onto the porch, Haeun looked out over the garden and the rolling hills beyond. The morning sun was still bright, and he felt a sense of calm wash over him.
"This is going to be a great place to clear my mind," he said to himself, feeling the weight of his recent challenges start to lift.
Haeun admired the view one last time before pulling out his phone. He snapped a quick photo of the house and the surrounding countryside, then sent it to Taeun. Moments later, he called his brother.
Taeun answered after a few rings, his voice sounding a bit groggy. "Hyung? It's early. What's up?"
Haeun chuckled. "Hey, Taeun. I just wanted to share my new view with you. I sent you a picture of the house."
Taeun blinked awake as he looked at the photo. "Wow, that's really nice! Looks like you've got yourself a little paradise out there."
"Yeah," Haeun said with a grin. "It's exactly what I needed. Peace and quiet, away from everything."
"Looks like a place where you could get lost in a good book or just doze off all day," Taeun joked. "I can't believe you're living the dream while I'm here buried in paperwork."
Haeun laughed. "Hey, don't make me feel guilty. I'll be sure to soak up enough peace for both of us."
"Good," Taeun said with a grin. "And if you get bored of the tranquility, just remember you can always tell the birds to stop chirping so loudly. I hear that's a local pastime."
"I'll keep that in mind," Haeun said, chuckling. "By the way, I've got this huge garden. Any tips on keeping it from turning into a jungle?"
Taeun snorted. "You've got to get out there and pretend you're a horticulturist. Or just hire someone. I'm sure you're busy enough as it is."
"True," Haeun admitted. "I'll think about it. How's everything back at the company?"
"Busy, but nothing I can't handle," Taeun replied. "I've even found a moment to grumble about paperwork, so I must be settling in."
"That's good to hear," Haeun said. "Make sure you take breaks too. No working yourself into the ground."
"I will," Taeun promised. "And you remember to enjoy your time out there. I expect daily updates on how many birds you're befriending."
"Will do," Haeun said with a smile. "Catch you later, Taeun."
"Later, hyung. Have fun with the birds and the quiet!"
