Chương 75: Chapter 71 Witch Party? All Slytherins Rise!

Bad News, My external practicals will be starting on the 22nd, and the end-semester exams will be next month. So, I will not be posting chapters. But don't worry; I will not drop this story—just a small hiatus from this fic. I will continue to stock chapters whenever I have time and will start uploading after my exams. After which I will release all the stocked chapters for Patreon Members and small mass release will be done for webnovel readers too, so don't worry.

Also If Anyone is Wondering, I am a CSE DS Direct Second Year Student so I have pretty strict schedule due to late admission.

And Last thing, I seriously think I rant too much between chapters even when I am not the author.

"You spent all morning reading in the library?" Cassandra looked at Kael suspiciously.

In her mind, Kael couldn't possibly be this well-behaved!

No accidents this morning? This wasn't right!

"Of course! The Hogwarts library has many books that are hard to find elsewhere. You should check it out sometime," Kael said, spreading his hands. Fawkes, who was perched on his shoulder, almost lost his balance and fell off.

When she left the library, Hermione had already gone back to her dorm to get her things.

"Really? Do they have books on the Dark Arts there?"

"Actually, if I had to choose, I'd prefer to attend Durmstrang. I heard the teachers there actually teach dark magic to the students."

Over the past two days, Cassandra and Kael had become much closer, and their conversations more casual. However, Cassandra still maintained a bit of her natural arrogance—after all, she was Miss Cassandra.

She was also a top student, but unlike Hermione, Cassandra wasn't exactly the "good girl" type.

"Dark magic? You're interested in that?" Kael looked at Cassandra with a sad expression. "I can't believe it, Cassandra. You want to study dark magic at such a young age? How evil!"

'???'

Cassandra was completely taken aback. Wasn't Kael the one who was skilled at dark magic?

[Ding! Sorrow and indignation detected!]

[Ding! Drawing treasure chest for the host!]

[Ding! Congratulations, the host has received a silver treasure chest!]

"Hmph, I'll never tell you anything!" Cassandra retorted.

"By the way, in the innermost part of the library, there's a restricted section filled with books on dark magic. And guess what, the lock can be undone with just a simple unlocking charm," Kael said mockingly, quickening his pace to walk ahead of Cassandra.

I'm Such a well-behaved little wizard—how could I possibly associate with someone who constantly broke school rules?

Cassandra: "????"

[Ding! Shock detected!]

[Ding! Drawing treasure chest for the host!]

[Ding! Congratulations, the host has received a silver treasure chest!]

[Ding! Joy detected!]

[Ding! Drawing treasure chest for the host!]

[Ding! Congratulations, the host has received a golden treasure chest!]

Kael hesitated for a moment, but then smiled slightly.

Cassandra quickened her pace to catch up, walking behind him.

"I overheard some people talking excitedly this morning," Cassandra said. "They were far away, but I caught bits about 'big shots,' 'Galleons,' and 'servants.' You should be careful—they might've hired someone powerful to go after you."

"If you need help, I can write to my father. He could send someone to assist you."

She scoffed. "The pure-blood families here—ugh! Just a bunch of spoiled brats living off their ancestors' glory."

Kael came to an abrupt stop. Cassandra, caught off guard, bumped into him.

They were suddenly very close, and Cassandra's cheeks turned bright red.

"Kael, what are you doing? Why did you stop so suddenly?"

"Oh, I was just thinking about something profound… like how to balance the world," Kael replied, sighing to himself.

So small… In comparison, Penelope's knowledge was still superior.

Penelope just knew more!

"Let's go. If we're late, we'll miss lunch," Kael added.

"Bastard, did you hear what I said? They might try to harm you," Cassandra said.

"Got it. Maybe they'll try to kill me by suffocating me with Galleons," Kael joked, and the two continued chatting as they made their way to the Great Hall.

Lunch at Hogwarts was as bountiful as ever. The house elves went all out in their efforts to prepare a perfect meal for the students. Sandwiches, fried fish, grilled lamb chops, pasta, vegetable salads—everything was laid out for the students to enjoy.

But today, something was different. The Slytherin table was unusually quiet. All the little snakes sat perfectly still, not touching their food or speaking.

This strange scene caught the attention of students from the other houses.

"Why aren't they eating?" Harry Potter asked, staring curiously at the Slytherin table.

"Who knows? Maybe they've lost their appetites or gone mad?" Ron mumbled, despite stuffing three sausages into his mouth.

"In normal times, that would've started a fight," Harry said, glancing at the Slytherin students who simply turned to stare back before quickly returning to their rigid positions.

At that moment, Kael walked into the hall with Cassandra, chatting and laughing.

"Hai!"

The instant Kael entered, the entire Slytherin table stood up in unison, bowing slightly toward him.

The Great Hall fell silent. Everyone stared in disbelief at what was happening. It was as though the Slytherins were greeting their king—and that "king" was only a first-year student!

If you haven't seen it with your own eyes, it would've been hard to believe.

[Ding! 42 shock emotions detected!]

[Ding! Drawing treasure chest for the host!]

[Ding! Congratulations, the host has received 42 silver treasure chests!]

Even Cassandra was stunned. A moment ago, she'd been worried that the Slytherins might be plotting against Kael—but now this?

"My lord, this is where you and Miss Cassandra can sit," Head Girl Gemma Farley said respectfully, pulling out the chair at the center of the long Slytherin table. She vacated her seat next to Kael and motioned for Cassandra to take it.

The rest of the table was arranged in strict order by age, strength, and family background. It was far more formal than the usual casual seating.

Kael looked around. The food remained untouched, and the little snakes stared at him with an almost fanatical intensity. It was clear they'd been waiting for his arrival before starting lunch.

'I have to admit, this feels pretty good' Kael thought to himself.

Just then, Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall entered the Great Hall, chatting as they walked. Upon seeing the little snakes bowing to Kael, Dumbledore's smile wavered slightly, while McGonagall looked visibly shocked.

[Ding! Two Shock detected!]

[Ding! Drawing treasure chest for the host!]

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for getting a golden treasure box and a diamond treasure box

(T/N: The golden treasure chest as contributed by Dumbledore, and the diamond treasure chest was contributed by Professor McGonagall.)

Noticing the system's notification, he turned his head subconsciously.

Then his eyes met Dumbledore's eyes.

Kael's smile froze, well Is it too late to take back my earlier thoughts about how good this feels?

"Oh, children, don't greet me like this, sit down!"

Even now, Dumbledore was helping Kael smooth things over with a forced smile on his face.

Unfortunately...

The little snakes were completely indifferent to the principal's words and were still standing respectfully waiting for Kael.

[Ding! Depression detected!]

[Ding! The treasure chest is being drawn for the host!]

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for getting a golden treasure chest!]

"Sit down!" Kael quickly waved, feeling the pressure from Dumbledore's presence. Although he had his ice crystal phoenix Anivia for protection, there was no need to make Dumbledore's blood pressure spike any higher than necessary.

The little Slytherins, who had just ignored Dumbledore's words, now sat down neatly.

Kael sighed in relief. It seemed he'd dodged a bullet—for now.

The scene in front of him made Dumbledore's vision go dark instantly.

I just spoke so highly of you in front of Professor McGonagall, and now you treat me like this?

[Ding! frustration detected!]

[Ding! A treasure chest is being extracted for the host!]

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining a diamond treasure chest!]

The system's notification chimed, and this time, Dumbledore's frustration directly contributed to a diamond treasure chest.

'Fine! You all might as well put a dragon robe on me and force me to be your king!' Kael thought.

Professor McGonagall glared angrily at Dumbledore.

Is this what you mean by 'keeping an eye on this kid'? We've been friends for decades, and yet you treat me so dismissively!

Professor McGonagallwas so frustrated that she didn't even eat her meal and left the hall.

"Let's eat," Kael said, pulling Cassandra into a seat at the center of the long Slytherin table.

It's no big deal. I'll send Dumbledore a gift later, Kael thought. He'll come around eventually.

During the meal, Kael and Cassandra talked casually while all the little Slytherins quietly ate their food without saying a word. Only the prefect, Gemma Farley, occasionally joined the conversation, and whenever Kael reached for something, she'd place more of it in front of him.

Affected by this quiet atmosphere, the students at the other three tables spoke only in hushed voices.

Once Kael finished eating and put down his knife and fork, the rest of the Slytherins, whether full or not, immediately followed suit and set down their cutlery. They all sat upright again, just as they had at the beginning, even Crabbe and Goyle, who were only halfway through their meal.

The group gathered around Kael and left the Great Hall together.

Watching this, Dumbledore, sitting at the staff table, felt his vision go dark again.

It wasn't until the entire Slytherin table had left that the other students dared to resume talking.

"That was…that was…" Ron stammered, his eyes wide with envy. "Majestic!"

Compared to Kael's current treatment, the student council president position Ron once dreamed of seemed insignificant.

"Ron, I don't think this is a good thing," Harry said, glancing at the staff table, where most of the professors still looked shocked.

"It's not wise to have a 'wizarding monarchy' at Hogwarts."

"Oh, who cares?" Ron sighed. "If it were me, even if it was just for one day, I'd be willing to risk it all. It's really enviable."

For the next two days, wherever Kael went, at least a dozen Slytherins followed, making way for the new "king" of Slytherin.

Then, on Friday afternoon, Penelope Clearwater finished her last History of Magic lesson and packed her books. As she walked out of the classroom, she spotted Gryffindor's prefect, Percy Weasley, waiting outside.

"Penelope, is class over?" Percy smiled warmly. "The weather's really nice today. Care to join me for a walk outside the castle?"

"Senior Weasley, I'm afraid not. I have other plans," Penelope replied, shaking her head.

Since last semester, Penelope had noticed Percy looking at her differently, and after this term started, he began writing to her frequently, asking her out.

Although the Weasley family had fallen on hard times, it was still a pure-blood family. Each family member could secure a decent job in the wizarding world after graduation. Sometimes, Penelope wondered if she might have considered Percy's pursuit if she hadn't met Kael.

As a Muggle-born witch, her position in the wizarding world was always uncertain. If she couldn't find a good job in the magical world, she'd have no choice but to return to the Muggle world with just a diploma certificate that is given to all the wizards for muggle word.

But since meeting the boy who told her, "Call me Lord Mephisto," Penelope's heart had been filled. She couldn't tolerate anyone else.

"What about tomorrow?" Percy pressed on. "We have the afternoon off, so we could visit Hogsmeade."

"I'm busy tomorrow, too…" Penelope hadn't finished speaking when a familiar voice interrupted.

"Penelope, class is over?" Kael appeared and took her hand. "I caught you just in time! Are you free? I'd like to take you somewhere nice."

"Of course! I didn't have anything planned for a while anyway," Penelope smiled brightly, her eyes lighting up as she looked at Kael.

Percy, standing nearby, watched the scene unfold, feeling as though his heart was shattering into pieces. This isn't right!

Just moments ago, Penelope had told him she was busy. Why now...?

"Penelope, didn't you say you didn't have time?" Percy blurted out, stepping in front of them.

By now, he'd abandoned all decorum, desperate for an explanation.

"Senior Weasley, I thought I made myself clear," Penelope said with a sigh.

She had always tried to let him down gently, but now it seemed Percy either didn't get the message or was pretending not to.

Better to make it absolutely clear today. Otherwise, who knows how long he'll keep bothering me.
