Chương 26: back to the grind and surprises

{ hello all my father has been having some health issues recently. And unfortunately, now he has also wound up breaking his collarbone. So I'm now having to take care of him. He has not that long ago had heart surgery and recently lost his license due to epilepsy. So I'm going to have to cut back on chapter releases. I'm going to try to release 2-3 a week sorry again and thank you for your understanding.}

According to Hephaestus Yuri finished training over the next week. Without unlocking her divinity there was nothing else Hephaestus could teach Yuri. After the training finished Yuri spent a month eating, sleeping, and forging nothing else took up her time. By the end of the month, she was approaching Tsubaki's skill level.

However, all good things must come to an end. The training was over she took her time to polish her skills and it was now time to go home. When she went to leave Hephaestus noticing her hesitation just shook her head.

Placing a hand on Yuri's shoulder Hephaestus spoke "You look so worried it's not like you don't live close by and you can come here whenever you want. As long as I'm here I will welcome you unless something pressing is going on that needs my undivided attention".

Hearing this Yuri stopped hesitating and left to return home. As she was walking down the street she had no idea what was going to be waiting for her along her path home. She was about halfway home when she decided to get gifts for the girls as she hadn't been home for some time.

Changing her direction she went toward the main street when.

[Quest received: The one loved by the world- the main character of this world is now in Orario. Find and help them join a famillia.

Seeing this Yuri became excited but confused at the same time. (Why so many sp and what is this group of question marks in the rewards.)

[the reason why the sp is so large is this is a major event for this world. The question marks are due to the reward in question being a gift to the user from an existence outside of the system.]

Hearing this Yuri both understood and didn't. So she decided to just ignore it for the time being and do the quest.

After continuing along to find her gifts, Yuri was also now lost in thought. Trying to figure out the best way to go about finding Bell. All Yuri could remember was that he was going from famillia to famillia asking to join and being rejected.

As she passed by an alley Yuri stopped when she heard a girl shouting. "Back off you creeps I already told you I want nothing to do with you or any famillia that would accept guys like you."

Having no reason to rush Yuri headed toward the disturbance figuring she would lend a helping hand. As she turned the corner she noticed three guys that had a girl backed up against a wall causing the alley to be a dead end.

Yuri approached pulling her most recently crafted weapon out. It was a scythe that was around 4'7" with a blue-edged black jagged blade she managed to get the whole thing to be able to collapse to the size of a briefcase.

Noticing that the guys still hadn't noticed her. She walked behind the one in the middle swinging her weapon. Ceasing just as it made contact with the man's skin leaving just a slight cut almost like a papercut.

Feeling the blade against his throat the man stopped not even daring to speak. This got the attention of his two friends. As the two turned to look at the person who dared to stop their fun.

When they locked eyes with Yuri she finally spoke. " I would stop harassing the lady and leave. because now that I'm involved if this continues you'll make an enemy of the Hephaestus famillia."

Hearing that the girl in front of them was a member of one of the three strongest famillia. The guys knew that the fun and games were over they were now about to make an enemy they could not beat. Resigned they raised their hands showing they were finished.

Seeing the three were not going to fight Yuri removed her weapon from the guy's throat. And spoke again "Now that things have de-escalated one of you explain what you were doing."

The man who was in the middle took a small step forward and stated "We are part of a small famillia and have been looking for new members the issue is only guys seem to ever join. So we were trying to recruit this girl as a way to get some diversity in the famillia."

Hearing this Yuri started to nod her head in understanding. "Yeah being part of a famillia made up entirely of guys would suck."

Hearing this the guy started to speak again. " so you under…."

Yuri almost immediately cut him off. " that still doesn't make it right to back a girl into a corner and try and use pressure to get them to join. Go to the guild and explain your looking for female adventurers to join to balance things out."

Hearing this the three couldn't believe they hadn't thought of this. After thanking Yuri they took off as fast as they could towards the guild.

Yuri seeing this could only shake her head and let out a chuckle.

"U-um tha-thank you for helping me"

Hearing this Yuri's attention was brought back to the girl. She was short only a couple of inches taller than Yuri herself. She was dressed in black pants, a white shirt, and was wearing a brown hooded cloak.

Yuri was unable to see her face but noticed a bit of white sticking out of the hood. Yuri's mind was traveling a mile a minute. ( is this an AU, not the original Danmachi if it is then this could potentially be Bell. I guess there is only one way to find out."

Stopping her inner dialog Yuri asked the girl if she was alright. The girl nodded in affirmation.

Seeing this Yuri let out a smile. " well I'm glad you're okay if you don't mind can i get you to tell me your name? And many tell me what brought you to this city."

Hearing this the girl felt embarrassed for not introducing herself. She then looked at Yuri with a deep analyzing gaze trying to determine if the person in front of her was truly a good person. As long as she could remember she could see what she considered a person's aura. This allowed her to determine if a person's intention was good or not.

When she looked at Yuri she noticed something that had never happened before. The girl who saved her from an uncomfortable situation her aura was like a chaotic storm made of every color.

Yuri noticing the girl just looking at her Yuri thought that maby she didn't trust her. Letting out a sigh Yuri looked at the girl and said. " at least let us get out of this dingy alley."

Hearing this the girl snapped out of her inner turmoil and followed after giving a nod.
