"I didn't quite catch that, dear," said the lady at the counter, alternating between shooting daggers out of her eyes at Jiraiya and looking at Sakura in concern. "How old did you say you were, again?"
"I didn't," said Sakura flatly, staring back at the lady with eyes like those of a dead fish.
Sakura, Naruto and Jiraiya had just reached their first stop in their search for Tsunade— a small red-light district named Shukuba Town, a short distance to the north of Konoha. Being the cheap bastard that he was, Jiraiya had made a beeline for the cheapest place to stay in the seediest part of the district, Fun Fun Avenue…
When Jiraiya had marched into a love hotel with two children who didn't resemble him in the slightest in tow, the employees had begun having serious doubts about his intentions, but since all three of them wore Hidden Leaf forehead protectors, the hotel's receptionist didn't want to confront him too openly…
"What's the holdup?" Jiraiya asked the receptionist lady impatiently. "Do you, or do you not, have a room available for us?"
The poor receptionist looked to her superior with pleading eyes, but he simply pretended not to notice and retreated into his office.
"This place seems awfully seedy, ya know?" Naruto remarked, as he glanced at his surroundings.
It's at this moment that a beautiful woman with a nice body passed by the love hotel, her hips swaying from side to side as she walked down the street. Upon spotting Jiraiya's tall figure, she paused, flicking her hair to the side with a brush of her hand, before winking seductively in his direction.
'Now, that's a woman,' said Inner Sakura appreciatively. 'Give us a few years, and men won't be able to take their eyes off us…'
"I love a man with children," the woman said breathily, blowing a kiss in Jiraiya's direction. "It shows he's not afraid of… commitment."
Sakura raised an eyebrow.
Having watched the anime, she knew that Itachi currently had his hand up her butt, manipulating her like a marionette, to seduce Jiraiya in order to lure him away from Naruto. But even so, was he the one making her say those things, or had he put her on autopilot with his Genjutsu…?
"Commitment's my middle name!" Jiraiya cried out flamboyantly, instantly falling for Itachi's honey trap. "Have I mentioned that I'm one of the legendary Sannin? They call me Jiraiya the Gallant… or so I'm told!"
The woman giggled coquettishly, even though Jiraiya hadn't said anything particularly funny.
"Here's a thousand ryō," said Jiraiya distractedly, tossing a few notes over his shoulder in Naruto's direction, without even turning to face him. "Rent a room for us, and don't wait up…"
Jiraiya's actions didn't make him seem like the most responsible of parents, but strangely enough, the shapely woman who appreciated commitment didn't seem too bothered by his behaviour.
"But, but! Pervy sage!?" Naruto spluttered. "What are we supposed to do while we wait?"
Unfortunately, Jiraiya and the raven-haired beauty had already disappeared down the street. Left behind without having anything better to do, Sakura helped Naruto pick up the money from the ground, and they rented a small room on the second floor.
…
As Sakura unpacked her luggage, she noticed that Naruto was beginning to act strangely. He was avoiding her gaze, and his cheeks seemed to be turning bright red. Sakura looked around in a panic— had Itachi and Kisame already launched their attack without her noticing? Was Naruto trapped in a Genjutsu!?
'Don't be daft,' said Inner Sakura, sounding awfully bored. 'He's just embarrassed because you started unpacking your underwear in front of him. Seriously, did you have to put that bra on your head like a hat? Talk about unladylike…'
Even though they were permanently attached to her chest, Sakura sometimes still couldn't believe just how big her breasts had got— the proof being that she could almost fit her entire head in one of her bra's cups.
Red-faced, Sakura stuffed her underwear back into her backpack, before plopping down on her bed cross-legged, to refine some chakra for the upcoming fight with Itachi and Kisame.
Knock, knock.
"I'll get the door!" said Naruto, snapping out of his trance.
"Naruto, wait!" Sakura hissed. Hadn't this kid ever heard of stranger danger!?
Naruto opened the door a sliver to peek outside, but a hand suddenly shot out through the opening and forced the door completely open. And there he stood, in the doorway…
(And Hoshigaki Kisame was there too!)
'Oh no,' Inner Sakura gasped. 'He's hot!'
Uchiha Itachi's features were remarkably similar to those of his younger brother. He had the same raven hair, and he also had that dark, handsome look about him, despite the deep stress lines on each side of his nose, which Sasuke didn't have.
"Does this kid really have the Nine-Tailed…" Kisame began saying… but he was rudely interrupted by Naruto slamming the door in his face.
Ever since Naruto had learned the truth about having the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed within him, he hadn't told his friends about his secret. Even though the adults all seemed to know of his true nature, he had noticed that for some reason, children his age didn't know anything— and to be perfectly honest, he was absolutely fine with keeping them in the dark about his being a Jinchūriki.
After having finally made some friends, Naruto was deathly afraid of being ostracized and left all alone all over again. He had no idea how this shark-looking bloke had learned his secret, but he was determined to not let him utter another word— not while Sakura was listening in!
BANG!
Suddenly, the door exploded inwards, sending shards of wood flying everywhere. Where a door had once been, there stood a tall man with pale blue skin and gills under his eyes. He was wearing a Hidden Mist forehead protector with a deep horizontal groove scratched into the metal, and he was armed with a thing too big to be called a sword— too big, too thick, too heavy, and too rough— it was more like a shark crossed with a sea urchin, in the shape of a blunt object… the Samehada!
