Ding!
[Level Up!]
Upon accessing the skill screen, Six decided to continue enhancing his GUNS skill to 100, and invested the remaining 7 points into REPAIR before proceeding to Perks. He chose the Rapid Reload: All of his weapon reloads are 25% faster than normal
He was about to move on, until a system notification stopped him.
Ding!
[Guns have been maxed!]
[Perk gained: Captain America's Trick Shot]
Captain America's Trick Shot:
Just like Captain America's shield, your bullets defy the laws of physics, bouncing off surfaces or curving mid-air to strike their target.
"Okay, newcomers, how did the midget switch her guns so quickly?"
Ben asked curiously.
"Wait, doesn't Twig have a Pip-Boy?"
Six inquired.
"Yes, I do. Take a look."
Twig responded, displaying his Pip-Boy and its various settings.
"So, the fatty has one. What's the point?"
Ben pressed.
"All Pip-Boys come equipped with a spatial storage inventory system, allowing users to store and access items instantly."
Six explained.
"Wait, Twig, your Pip-Boy can do all that? We could've used that ages ago."
Scar exclaimed.
"So, what else can the fatty's Pip-Boy do?"
Ben asked, rubbing his shin.
"The Pip-Boy has many functions. It's easier to ask Twig directly."
Six suggested.
"Um, there's VATS, the electronic Personal Information Processor, which acts as a personal database, monitoring the wearer's health. There's also the Pip-Boy flashlight, DATA Menu with Local and World Map, the built-in radio, and Geiger counter."
Twig listed sheepishly.
"Alright, so Twig is unaware of the inventory, Hot Keys, marker, and tracker."
Six concluded.
"The inventory is where you store all your items, sorted into weapons, armor, aid, misc., and ammo categories."
He continued.
"You can use the Hot Key to assign shortcuts to items for quick access to weapons, clothing, aid, or other items without navigating the Pip-Boy menu. The marker shows up on the Pip-Boy HUD map as a large, unfilled arrow, directing the user to their chosen destination. Additionally, the tracker can display the location of anything with a tracker attached, appearing as a small open triangle on the Pip-Boy HUD map."
Six finished explaining the functions Twig was unaware of.
"Wait, this thing has a tracker?"
Twig asked, astonished, while the super soldier approached, fiddling with his Pip-Boy and extracting a small round chip.
"Look at that, you haven't used a single one."
"That's probably because Twig is an idiot, and the only thing he ever searches for is NUKA-COLA!"
Scarlett interjected, followed by Ben's comment.
"Damn it, fatty, I really want to shoot you. There's a lot you can do with this thing, but..."
Ben retrieved a folded piece of paper from the bag Twig had thrown, unfolded it, and scrutinized it.
"Scar!"
Everyone turned to look at Ben.
"You should probably see this."
Scar approached slowly and took the paper, her expression turning to one of concern as she read it.
"Shit..."
Rebecca, driven by curiosity, approached.
"What do you have there?"
She snatched the paper from Scar and examined it, allowing everyone to see.
"Ooooh! The Queen bitch has a bounty."
"That's probably why we were attacked."
Ben exclaimed.
The piece of paper was a bounty note for Scar. A picture was drawn of Scar on it. The note dictates;
Slave formally owned by Leon Swallow, has been spotted around the New Vegas areas with two companions: a Ghoul and a Vault Dweller.
Reward: 200 caps
To understand their predicament, one must understand Scar unique situation.
Once a slave to Caesar's Legion, she was bought by a man by the name of Leon Swallow.
While being transported from Boulder City back across the Colorado River, their escorts sought refuge from the oppressive wasteland sun in a cave.
It was here that fate led Twig and Ben where they stumbled upon the group.
A firefight ensued.
In the confusion, the trio managed to make their escape.
Now, hunted by the Legion, they find themselves on the wrong end of a very sharp spear.
Twig scrutinized the drawing in Rebecca's hands.
"Okay, wait. Who has time to learn drawing?"
"What? Twig, my choom, what ya' mean..."
Rebecca inquired, puzzled.
"I mean, we're in a world overrun with mutants and robots..."
"Stop it, please."
Scar commanded, but Twig persisted.
"...and amidst people slaughtering each other for caps, this person chooses to learn how to draw?"
This only served to infuriate Scar further.
"Twig! Do you really think this is all a game? That I enjoy this?"
Twig found himself at a loss for words.
"But look on the bright side, it's two hundred caps."
Ben remarked with a smirk.
"Choomba, how is the Queen bitch's bounty 'on the bright side'?"
"Well, shorty, it was just a hundred-and-fifty before. That means we're climbing the ranks. If this trend continues, we'll attract some serious hunters."
"Ben..."
Twig voiced his concern.
Scarlett set her gun down and adjusted her gloves as Ben exaggerated her bounty, leaving Twig anxious and the chibi excited about her next move.
"Merciless killers! They could be anywhere!"
"Scar?"
"Or anyone."
"Scar, no—!"
Scarlett delivered a punch to Ben's face, sending him tumbling to the ground.
"Ugh!"
"Ouch..."
Scarlett picked up her gun and starts to walk away. Six offers Ben his hand, but he refused to take it.
"I got it..."
Ben used his shotgun as a crutch as he gets up, muttering incoherently to himself, and Scar stops and sighs.
"Sorry, Ben."
"Nah, I had it comin'."
"Let's just find your friend, ok?"
"Scar, I'm sorry, ok?"
Twig said as Scarlett waves dismissively.
"Yeah, it's fine."
"It's ok, Twig. Being mad at you is like being mad at a puppy: it's just too dumb to know any better."
Twig stares and sighs to his chagrin and Rebecca burst in laughter in making the connection. Scar ignores her, turning around and starts patting her lap at him, calling him like a dog.
"Come on, boy. Come on... Look at you, come on..."
Twig gives her a look and follows.
"Good boy..."
Four days passed, and an eagle caws overhead. The group continued to walk passing Sloan two days ago. Scarlett tried to drink from a bottle of water, but it was empty to her chagrin.
"Shit..."
"Ben, you said we would be there by now."
"We are. I know where we're going."
"What does that even mean?"
"It means... that I'm not lost, and I know, where, we're going--"
"I never said we were lost. You said we were gonna be there by now..."
"Both your yapping is literally killing me, can we please go and find that settlement chooms."
Rebecca then turned to Six.
"Uh, Big Guy. Do you know where were going?"
"Its probably Eastwood, Rebecca. I don't have its location since we haven't travelled there before."
Twig was lagging behind and stopped.
"Ugh...Scar...and, you're the one who said you said we'd BE there by now because if you did...!
Twig catches his breath. As Scarlett and Ben continue to argue and Rebecca was on Six's back getting piggyback a ride, a mirror's glare shines on Twig's face. Trying to shield his eyes from it, he catches a glimpse of a settlement in the distance.
"Hey, hey guys!
Scarlett and Ben continue to argue and Rebecca and Six were having their own fun.
"Hey GUYS!"
"I just wanted to know when we're gonna be there..."
Scarlett says
"HEY, GUYS!!!"
His shout echoes.
"What!?"
The rest of the group simultaneously respond except for Six, who doesn't really care since his augmented body allowed him to survive worst conditions.
Twig points to the direction of the settlement.
"Is that it?"
The group turned and saw the settlement.
"Told you we weren't lost."
Ben exclaimed with a chuckle.
"Choomba, you're an asshole!"
Rebecca retorted.
"I know~"
Ben replied.
Having finished their conversation, they began walking toward the settlement, while Twig followed behind.
"Hey, wait—wait up! WAIT!"
Eventually, they reached the gates of what appeared to be a ghost town. The sign read "Eastwood." With a shrug, they walked past the dilapidated shacks.
"Eastwood, huh? Kind of empty."
Twig observed.
"Kind of really empty dump."
Scar added, and Ben sighed as he surveyed the surroundings.
"Yo, yo, yo! Any chooms in the house?"
Rebecca called out after her introduction, and Twig echoed.
"Hello?"
As always, Twig tempted fate and suddenly they were surrounded by men in cowboy hats, and shotguns cocking on the roof.
"What the Fuck is this!"
Rebecca shouted.
More men flanked them from behind and in front, some brandishing pistols. The sound of steel-toed boots echoed on the wooden planks as a man in a large black top hat emerged from a shack and approached them.
"Hehehe~"
Rebecca chuckled as she armed herself with her M249 SAW and shouted.
"Don't be shy, Cocksuckers! There'll be plenty to go around."
The trio dropped their weapons and raised their hands, while only the chibi and the super soldier kept their guns drawn.
The man with the large black top hat spoke, indicating he was the leader of the group.
"Tsk-tsk. Such foul language coming from such a pretty mouth."
He chastised.
