Chương 281: Chapter 281: Hokage’s Resolve, Absolute Trust in Akira

As the eldest son of the Uchiha clan leader, Uchiha Itachi surely knew that exchanging Mangekyō Sharingan between brothers wouldn't work. Yet, he insisted that, just in case, it would be better to transplant his own Mangekyō to Sasuke while making sure Sasuke hated him.

This guy truly went to great lengths to ensure his Mangekyō Sharingan would be transferred to Sasuke smoothly. No wonder he was the ultimate "brother protector" in the original series.

Well, since this was Itachi's choice, there wasn't much more Akira could say.

"By the way, Akira, is your Mangekyō also on the verge of losing its sight?"

Even though Akira wasn't his biological son, Fugaku regarded him as Konoha's and the Uchiha clan's future. So, as they discussed Itachi's plan to give his Mangekyō to Sasuke, Fugaku couldn't help but express concern for Akira as well.

"Don't worry, I've found a way to counter the side effects of my Mangekyō," Akira responded to Fugaku's concern.

"You've... found a way?" Fugaku asked in surprise.

According to the Uchiha clan's history, the only way to overcome the side effects of the Mangekyō Sharingan was to transplant the Mangekyō of a sibling, achieving the Eternal Mangekyō. But Akira didn't have a brother, so how did he manage to negate the side effects?

This was important information for the Uchiha clan.

"The solution lies in the cells of the First Hokage. If one successfully fuses a large number of Hashirama's cells, it significantly reduces or even completely negates the side effects of the Mangekyō Sharingan."

"However, achieving this is extremely difficult. When Orochimaru and Danzo researched Wood Release, they barely managed to create someone like Yamato."

"The reason I succeeded is that my life form has ascended to that of a dragon. My cells are strong enough to withstand the invasion of Hashirama's cells."

"I've already discussed this with Itachi."

Akira explained the situation to Fugaku without holding anything back, recounting the conversation he had with Itachi previously.

"As expected, it's no easy task. In fact, it's nearly impossible." Fugaku, as Hokage, was aware of Hashirama's cells and their nature. Hearing Akira's explanation, he shook his head in resignation.

Simply put, Hashirama's cells were like cancer—highly aggressive, and ordinary people couldn't withstand their invasive nature. Akira had only succeeded because his body had transformed into that of a dragon, allowing him to resist the invasion.

But how many individuals like Akira had existed in the ninja world? Throughout history, he was the only one. So, while Akira had managed to nullify the side effects of the Mangekyō using Hashirama's cells, it made sense in his case.

"Alright then. Even though it's nearly impossible for anyone else, at least it's something to keep in mind." Fugaku thought for a moment and sighed. He mentally noted Akira's discovery, even though he knew it was unlikely to benefit others.

And strictly speaking, although Akira's eyes retained permanent vision, since he didn't possess the additional Mangekyō chakra, it couldn't truly be considered an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

After they finished discussing the Mangekyō, Akira and Fugaku shifted the conversation to Konoha's counterattack on the Akatsuki.

"Since the Fourth Tsuchikage of Iwagakure has been confirmed, shouldn't we contact the other great villages to join us in this counterattack?" Fugaku suggested.

After all, the purpose of the previous Five Kage Summit was to unite against the Akatsuki.

"No, I have a different plan," Akira responded, shaking his head at Fugaku's suggestion.

"Oh? What's your idea?" Fugaku asked curiously.

"My plan is not to mobilize an entire army, but rather to form a small strike force," Akira said.

"A strike force? So, your goal isn't to wipe out the Akatsuki entirely, but simply to defeat them and create the conditions for Itachi to transplant his Mangekyō?" Fugaku raised an eyebrow, surprised by Akira's plan.

Indeed, if the goal was to counterattack the Akatsuki, why not send a large force? Why just a strike team? It didn't seem like the goal was to eliminate the Akatsuki.

"First of all, the Akatsuki is strong. Wiping them out completely would come at a heavy cost. However, our victory is almost guaranteed later on, so there's no need to rush things now."

Akira's explanation was straightforward. It was like playing a strategy game: if your side had a stronger late-game lineup, there was no need to take risky moves early on and give the enemy a chance to turn the tables.

"Secondly, not all Akatsuki members need to be defeated in battle. There might be other ways to resolve the situation," Akira continued.

This hinted at his plans to potentially sway Obito and Nagato without having to fight them.

"Hmm, since you put it that way, I'll trust your judgment." Hearing Akira's reasoning, Fugaku decided to trust him completely.

After all, Akira's ability to foresee the future was something Fugaku had come to rely on. Even if Akira's actions didn't always make sense to him, Fugaku was willing to place his faith in him.

Akira felt a sense of gratitude toward Fugaku for his unconditional trust.

Though Akira had never betrayed the Uchiha or Konoha, seeing Fugaku's unwavering faith in him was still touching.

In the original series, Fugaku often came across as indecisive, especially when it came to whether or not to launch a coup. But now, after years of being Hokage, it seemed that Fugaku's resolve had grown.

It reminded Akira of a scene from a movie in his previous life: the Ancient One, whose responsibility was to protect the Eye of Agamotto, had chosen to trust Doctor Strange even when his actions seemed incomprehensible.

Such trust required immense strength of character, and Akira found it deeply admirable.

Now that the plan to send a strike team against the Akatsuki was in place, there was no need to involve the other great ninja villages.

So, who should be selected for the strike team?

Soon, Fugaku had compiled a list of potential candidates.

Every member of the Akatsuki had Kage-level strength. Therefore, the strike team would also need to consist of Kage-level shinobi.

At present, Konoha had several ninja who could qualify: Sasuke, who had crossed through time; Akira himself; Hokage Fugaku; Orochimaru; Tsunade; Jiraiya; Sasuke's younger brother; Naruto; Roshi; Han; Kakashi; and Might Guy, whose Eight Gates could elevate him to Kage-level.

That made for a solid group of twelve, with Akira and Sasuke being at the "Super Kage" level.

Of course, not all of them could join the strike team.

First, Orochimaru's status was still sensitive, so he couldn't participate openly. Second, as Hokage, Fugaku had to stay in Konoha to oversee everything.

"So, it looks like you'll be leading the team. You'll take ten people with you on this strike mission," Fugaku said. "Honestly, with you and your friend who possesses the Rinnegan, you probably don't need much help to wipe out the Akatsuki."

Even with Orochimaru and Fugaku staying behind, the strike team would still be incredibly powerful.

"Actually, I won't be going. I should stay in Konoha," Akira said, shaking his head.

"You'll stay here?" Fugaku looked at him in disbelief, almost doubting what he'd just heard.

This mission had been Akira's idea, and now the key player was saying he wasn't going? He wanted to stay behind and watch over Konoha?

Was Fugaku hearing things wrong?

"That's right, I'll stay behind," Akira confirmed. "Orochimaru is trustworthy enough, but Konan is still a prisoner in Konoha. I can't leave her unguarded."

Fugaku didn't respond at first, instead giving Akira a long, thoughtful look.

Clearly, Fugaku didn't buy Akira's explanation.

"Sigh…"

Akira knew his reasoning was weak, so he sighed and admitted, "Alright, the real reason is Hinata."

"Akira, I'm glad you and Hinata have a strong relationship. But as a man, especially since Konoha will be in your hands one day, you can't let personal matters cloud your judgment," Fugaku said, trying to offer fatherly advice without being too harsh, since Akira wasn't his son.

"You misunderstand," Akira quickly shook his head. "It's not that I can't bear to leave Hinata. It's that I've foreseen that while we're attacking the Akatsuki, someone powerful will come and abduct her."

Chương 282: Chapter 282: Fugaku’s Shock – Is This Really Uchiha’s Origin?

"Someone is coming to Konoha to kidnap Hinata? Who could that be?" Fugaku was shocked by Akira's reason. Even though many of Konoha's high-level combatants would leave, the village still had him, the Hokage, and Orochimaru, a seasoned Kage-level fighter, to protect it.

Who could be bold enough to invade Konoha and kidnap someone?

Moreover, the fact that Akira was genuinely worried about Hinata being taken and decided to stay behind for her protection was even more surprising.

Before Akira could answer, Fugaku asked, "Could it be Ōtsutsuki Urashiki?"

"No, it's not him!" Akira shook his head in response to Fugaku's question and replied, "It's Ōtsutsuki Toneri."

"Ōtsutsuki? Another member of the Ōtsutsuki clan? Just what kind of family is this Ōtsutsuki clan, with one powerhouse after another?" Fugaku's focus immediately shifted to the surname "Ōtsutsuki."

Urashiki alone was already terrifyingly powerful, and Fugaku had never even heard of the Ōtsutsuki clan until now, which was shocking enough. And now there was yet another member, Toneri Ōtsutsuki?

From the way Akira spoke, this Toneri must be incredibly strong, perhaps strong enough to attack Konoha alone?

"Let me explain. The legendary Sage of Six Paths—his full name is Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo."

"The Sage of Six Paths had a brother, Ōtsutsuki Hamura."

"Their mother's name was Ōtsutsuki Kaguya."

There was no need for further explanations. Akira just mentioned those three names.

"Hiss..." Fugaku sucked in a breath of cold air upon hearing Akira's words.

Shocking. This was truly shocking. The Sage of Six Paths was a god-like figure in legend, someone said to have created the entire ninja world. But no one knew that his full name was Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo.

And to think that the entire Sage of Six Paths' family was part of the Ōtsutsuki clan!

"So, the Uchiha clan doesn't even come close to being the strongest family in the ninja world. The Ōtsutsuki clan is the real top-tier family," Fugaku sighed after a moment of silence, overwhelmed with emotion.

Akira glanced at Fugaku and, after a brief thought, concluded that since more and more members of the Ōtsutsuki clan were showing up, revealing some of the history of the ninja world wouldn't be a big deal.

With that in mind, Akira continued, "Actually, to be more precise, the Uchiha clan is a branch of the Ōtsutsuki clan."

"Oh? How so? Akira, do you know about the origin of the Uchiha clan?" Fugaku's eyes widened in astonishment, staring at Akira.

While the Uchiha clan had its own history, it was only recorded for a few hundred years, and anything older was unknown. Could it really be that the Uchiha clan was a branch of the Ōtsutsuki clan? Fugaku, who had never even heard of the Ōtsutsuki before, was naturally in the dark about this.

"Well, let me break down the Sage of Six Paths' family tree first."

"The Sage of Six Paths had a younger brother, Ōtsutsuki Hamura. The Ōtsutsuki Toneri I mentioned is actually a descendant of Hamura."

"As for the Sage of Six Paths, he had two sons, Indra and Asura."

"Indra inherited the Sage of Six Paths' eyes—specifically, the power of the Sharingan."

"So, Indra is essentially the ancestor of our Uchiha clan. That's why I said we're a branch of the Ōtsutsuki clan," Akira explained to Fugaku.

"I see," Fugaku nodded, his expression enlightened, though his heart was filled with shock.

So this was the true history of the ninja world? This was the true origin of the Uchiha clan?

By this logic, the Uchiha clan carried the bloodline of the Sage of Six Paths.

"Wait, hold on…" Fugaku suddenly seemed to realize something and exclaimed, "You're saying the Uchiha clan is a branch of the Ōtsutsuki clan!"

"That Ōtsutsuki Urashiki possessed the Rinnegan, which makes sense now!"

"But Urashiki also had the Byakugan!"

"How do we explain that?"

Fugaku looked at Akira in surprise. While it was clear that the Uchiha's Sharingan came from the Ōtsutsuki, how could Urashiki also possess the Byakugan?

"The Sage of Six Paths' brother, Ōtsutsuki Hamura, inherited the Byakugan, and the ancestor of the Hyuga clan is actually Ōtsutsuki Hamura," Akira explained further.

Boom!

This explanation was even more earth-shattering for Fugaku, as if he'd been struck by lightning.

His face showed disbelief as he looked at Akira and asked, "So, you're saying that the Uchiha clan and the Hyuga clan are actually related by blood? Distant relatives?"

"Exactly, that's the truth," Akira nodded in confirmation.

"This… this news is far too shocking! The Uchiha and Hyuga clans have existed since the Warring States period, and yet there's never been any mention of them being related by blood!" Fugaku exclaimed, clearly overwhelmed. He needed a moment to process this revelation.

Akira remained silent. Anyone learning the true history of the ninja world for the first time would need time to digest such information.

Fugaku knew of Akira's ability to deduce future events. It now seemed that he could also uncover secrets of the past. Therefore, Fugaku had no reason to doubt Akira's revelations, which only made them all the more shocking.

"Ōtsutsuki Toneri is a descendant of Ōtsutsuki Hamura, and the Hyuga clan is also descended from Hamura, so Toneri must be closely related to the Hyuga clan by blood."

After spending some time processing this information, Fugaku finally spoke, having roughly sorted out the Ōtsutsuki family's web of relationships.

"That's right," Akira confirmed.

"Then why would he want to kidnap Hinata? By all logic, they should be related by blood, right?" Fugaku asked.

"A faint blood relation doesn't mean anything. We're technically part of the Ōtsutsuki clan too, but that didn't stop me from fighting Urashiki to the death," Akira replied with a slight smile.

"That's… true," Fugaku thought for a moment and had to agree, nodding in acknowledgment.

"This Ōtsutsuki Toneri, is he powerful?" Fugaku asked, wanting to know more.

He had to be, if he could come to Konoha and kidnap someone alone.

"Yes, he possesses the power of the Tenseigan," Akira nodded.

"Tenseigan? Like the one Hinata has?" Fugaku was surprised.

He knew that Hinata's Byakugan had evolved into the Tenseigan, but from the previous battle, the Tenseigan didn't seem that much stronger than the Byakugan.

Especially when Hinata, with her Tenseigan, had been easily defeated by Urashiki.

"The Tenseigan's power is immense, on par with the Rinnegan. Hinata simply doesn't have enough chakra to fully wield its true strength," Akira explained.

"So, what is the full power of the Tenseigan?" Fugaku asked seriously.

In the past, the Byakugan couldn't evolve and had limited abilities, so Fugaku hadn't seen the Hyuga clan as a threat to the Uchiha clan.

After all, since the Warring States period, the Uchiha had always maintained an edge over the Hyuga.

But now, Akira was telling him that the Tenseigan was incredibly powerful, potentially even on par with the Rinnegan?

That meant Fugaku needed to understand its true capabilities.

"Alright then, since we're already discussing this, let's talk about it in more detail," Akira nodded, not withholding any information.

"The Rinnegan comes in many different colors, including blue, red, purple, and gold. Some have tomoe patterns, and some don't. Each variation of the Rinnegan has slightly different abilities."

"Similarly, there are three types of Tenseigan: purple, yellow, and blue."

"First, the purple Tenseigan. This one is formed by combining countless Byakugan into a spherical stone. When activated, its destructive power is immense. In fact, it was used to wipe out many of the peaceful Ōtsutsuki clan members on the moon."

"Next is the yellow Tenseigan, which was created by the branch members on the moon to honor their ancestor, Hamura. This Tenseigan's power is so great that it can move the moon."

"However, this Tenseigan is cursed, and unless someone with Hamura's bloodline wields it, they'll have their chakra drained to death."

"Finally, there's the blue Tenseigan," Akira concluded, giving Fugaku a rundown of the different types of Tenseigan.

"I know, it's the same as Hinata's blue Tenseigan!" Fugaku quickly interjected.

The purple Tenseigan had the power to annihilate the Ōtsutsuki clan members on the moon, and the yellow Tenseigan could move the moon?

Both were terrifyingly powerful.

So what about the blue Tenseigan? What abilities did it possess?

Fugaku was deeply curious…
