Chương 44: SIMULATED EXAM

— The next day, Amaranta could feel something strange in the way her classmates looked at her when she entered the classroom. It was like there was something on her face.

— The moment she sat down in her seat, a classmate approached her and whispered: "Amaranta, forgive me for what I did yesterday. I shouldn't have said those things about you."

Amaranta was surprised. She didn't answer. She thought it was strange that her classmate would do that. "Why would he apologize to me?" she asked herself.

—"Did something happen yesterday?" Amaranta asked, and her classmate blushed. "In the ladies' room…" her classmate murmured.

"Oh, you mean that? I don't hold grudges. I choose to focus on really important things," Amaranta replied casually.

Her classmate covered her face with her hands and then walked away from her. She felt embarrassed.

Amaranta then prepared her pencil and paper for the exam. She made sure everything was ready.

Since this was a mock exam, it would be conducted as if it were a formal college entrance exam.

The senior students were directed to their respective classrooms, and two supervisors were assigned to each classroom.

The supervisors were not the classroom teachers for the senior students, but transfer teachers from middle and elementary schools in the main city, closest to the town.

Amaranta had already received her number the day before, when she finished class. Amaranta's seat was located near the window, and there was a sycamore tree outside that almost blocked the entire window. Every time the wind blew, the leaves made a rustling sound.

On the first day, she sat for language exams in the morning, followed by maths in the afternoon. The next day, she sat her English exams in the morning, followed by physics and chemistry in the afternoon. When she was in the capital, she had been tutored by Izan Marsans, who was a scholar in all subjects.

She learned that she should always start with the easiest question, and she was quick to solve problems. When she completed the questions and checked her answers once again, certain that there were no errors in her answers, she presented her exams to the teachers responsible for collecting them.

After Amaranta finished her exams, she headed to the field where her classmates gathered to check her answers.

"Amaranta, how were the exams?" Carlos asked nervously. "I think I went off-topic because of my written composition," he groaned.

Alberto commented: "You better be careful then. The weight of the written composition is high."

Carlos sat on the floor and covered his face with a language textbook as he lamented: "I don't know what's wrong with me. I was very nervous, and my palms were sweating a lot."

Amaranta's grades had always been average.

"What about you? How do you suppose you did on the Amaranta exams?" Alberto asked.

Amaranta responded: "I find it manageable. It wasn't easy, but not that difficult if you studied."

In fact, Amaranta felt that she had done quite well, since she had attempted to answer many questions from previous tests and, therefore, she found the questions in the mock exams easy.

"However, I would have to memorize things if I were to study liberal arts. My memory is as good as a goldfish's. It only lasts three seconds! I am very bad at remembering things," Carlos lamented.

Carlos knew the critical role of the college entrance exam in determining one's destiny. He was so upset that he wanted to cry. However, he knew that this was the best he could do and that it would be very difficult for him to achieve good grades.

"Amaranta, do you think I should also try to apply to film school?" Carlos asked.

—"You could do it if you wish, but you must be aware that it is very complicated to be in the entertainment industry. Not to mention that this year is already over, it is the registration period for access to the Academy of Cinematography and to the Theatre Academy." Amaranta told Carlos.

—"It means that I don't need University to enter the entertainment circle." Carlos commented.

—"Relatively no, it is very easy to be accepted with only a high school diploma in the acting academies, however, every year there are more applicants, which makes the chances of you having the possibility of obtaining a job and standing out in the field less. Showbiz world, if you don't have connections, then you'll end up being the coffee boy," said Amaranta with a discouraged look, because deep down she knew how difficult the world of acting was.

 — That night, Amaranta received an unexpected phone call from someone who was becoming a very important person in her heart. —"Hello, Izan, how are you, are you eating okay? Are you healthy?" I ask quickly.

—"Little Amaranta, I'm fine and you, how did the exam simulation go?" Izan Marsans asked.

—"Well, I'm sure everything will be perfect," Amaranta assured happily.

—"Are you so sure that you won't have problems?" Izan asked.

—"Of course, I have been trained by the best teacher. You" Amaranta answered shyly.

— Izan Marsans, he was happy to hear those words, his heart felt like some sugar, while he continued with his little talk with Amaranta, there was a person at the door of his office listening to the conversation so frank and sweet, that this person was He asked if he was talking to his girlfriend and that caused a ray of jealousy in him.

— They knocked on the door of Izan's office and said "Captain Marsans" to which Izan told Amaranta "Little girl, I have to hang up, now I will call you later, take care of yourself" hanging up to attend to whoever entered.

— The next day, Alberto Ortega went to school with bags under his eyes, because he had argued the night before with his parents, warning them not to go to the University if they did not let him develop a work plan that was about to be implemented in the town.

— When Amaranta turned around and looked at him.

"Have you heard? The mock exam results have been released!"

— Alberto was stunned. They had just finished the exams yesterday, and the results were already available. "So fast?"

— Amaranta nodded and said: "I'm very worried about Carlos's grades!"

Mariana Cid arrived at school early. She seemed very confident about the results she would get on the exams, and Carlos couldn't help but worry if Amaranta would lose.

— Mariana Cid Passed by Amaranta in a very arrogant way, told him "that you shouldn't be practising how to jump right now"

—"I don't have to do it, I won't be the one who loses" Amaranta responded

—"I'm sure I won't lose either" Mariana stated…

This exam was very important for all those who would take it, but it was a matter of pride for others, the fundamental thing of all is whoever really got the highest score, since in this way they could apply for admission to the university they wanted, without no problem.
