Zephorix slowly walked toward Beru, his expression grim. "Looks like it's over," he said in low voice.
"Don't come near me," beru said, struggling to stay on his feet. His breaths were heavy.
Suddenly, Beru's remaining subordinates, filled with fury, charged at Zephorix with their spears raised high. "Die!" they shouted in unison.
Without hesitation, Zephorix summoned three wormholes around him. The subordinates' spears vanished into the swirling portals.
"Not this again," one of the subordinates muttered.
In the blink of an eye, wormholes materialized behind each of them, and their own spears pierced through their backs.
As Zephorix reached Beru, the once-proud warrior looked up at him, fear now etched across his face. To Beru, Zephorix appeared terrifying.
"Damn it... why?" Beru muttered, his voice trembling.
Zephorix's gaze darkened. "Why? Do you really not understand? When you mess with someone, you better be ready to face the consequences." Zephorix said in a cold tone.
"If you lack the courage to face the outcome, never draw the weapon." Zephorix said.
"I just want the cure," Beru said, his eyes filling with tears.
"Huh? Cure for what?" Zephorix asked, narrowing his gaze.
"I saw you revive the ogre village," Beru explained in shaky voice. "So I brought you here... to cure my tribe too."
Zephorix scoffed. "Hah. Brought me? Do you think I'm a fool? You kidnapped me, locked me in a cell, and treated me like some pet. Is that how you ask for help?"
Beru's face fell, shame weighing him down. "Th-that was to keep you from escaping… That's why we locked you up."
"In the first place," Zephorix said coldly, "if you wanted help, why didn't you just ask? Why kidnap me?"
Beru hesitated before replying, "Because... I didn't think you'd help us."
Zephorix's eyes flashed with anger. "And you think this is the way to change my mind?"
Beru dropped to his knees and bowed low. "Please… help us," he begged.
"No. I'm leaving," Zephorix said firmly, turning his back on Beru. "I'll spare you today, but if you mess with me again, you know what'll happen."
As Zephorix began to walk away, Beru desperately grabbed his leg. "No! Please don't go! Please... help us!" he cried out.
Zephorix growled, his patience snapping. He punched Beru in the head, causing him to release his grip. "Let go of me, you idiot!"
As Zephorix turned to leave, Beru grabbed his leg again. Annoyed, Zephorix sighed. "Huh, fine. I get it. First, tell me about your situation, then I'll decide if I can help you or not."
Beru winced, clutching his left hand over his broken right arm. "It hurts," he muttered.
Zephorix glanced at his injury, then placed a hand on Beru's arm. A soft, purple light surrounded him, and in an instant, Beru's arm was healed.
"No way! My arm... it was completely healed! This is unbelievable!" Beru stammered, staring in disbelief. "Who... who are you? Are you a god?"
"No," Zephorix replied calmly.
Suddenly, Beru dropped to his knees. "Big bro! I'm going to follow you for the rest of my life!"
"There's no need for that," Zephorix said, shaking his head.
"Huh? Why not? I can be useful to you!" Beru insisted.
"No means no," Zephorix said firmly. "I'll help you, then I'm leaving."
Raising his hand, Zephorix muttered, "Resurrection." A dark purple aura surrounded the fallen lizardmen. As the aura faded, they slowly rose to their feet, alive once more.
"What's happening? Why are we alive?" one of Beru's subordinates asked, looking around in confusion.
Then they spotted Beru kneeling before Zephorix. Fury flashed in their eyes.
"How dare you make Lord Beru kneel!" they shouted, raising their spears and charging at Zephorix.
Zephorix sighed, unfazed. "Looks like I'll have to kill them again."
Before he could act, Beru rushed forward and stood in front of him, arms spread wide. "Stop! All of you, stop!"
The subordinates froze in place, confused. "Lord Beru, why are you defending him?" one asked.
Another pointed at Beru's arm. "Lord Beru, your arm... what happened?"
Beru smiled and flexed his arm. "This? It was healed by my big bro," he said proudly.
"Big bro?" The subordinates exchanged bewildered glances.
Turning back to Zephorix, Beru announced, "This is our big bro from now on."
"What?!" the subordinates shouted in unison, stunned.
