Suddenly, a voice rang in the heads of Ariana and Tokiyori.
It was Lyrael, her tone urgent.
"Both of you, listen to me carefully," Lyrael's voice echoed in their minds.
Startled, Ariana asked,
"Who are you?"
"I am the Spirit Queen," Lyrael replied.
Shocked, Ariana pressed on,
"What do you want? Where is Zephorix?"
Lyrael reassured her.
"Don't worry, he's fine. I'm here to relay Zephorix's plan to you."
Suspicion laced Tokiyori's voice as he questioned,
"What plan? Do you think we trust you?"
Lyrael quickly responded.
"The dungeon is under attack by the Chimera Ant King. I have no time to explain further. I've already spoken with your leader, and we've decided to handle the Chimera Ant together."
Ariana's eyes widened in disbelief.
"What? The Chimera Ant is attacking the dungeon?" she exclaimed.
Suddenly, a chilling sensation crept over her as she sensed a murderous intent. She glanced at Tokiyori, whose expression had darkened as he unleashed his killing intent.
"Hey, what are you saying? Is it true?" Tokiyori asked in a cold tone.
"Yes, it is true," Lyrael confirmed, trying to calm him.
"Calm down, Tokiyori. Let's first hear the pla—" Ariana began, but her sentence was cut short as Tokiyori suddenly leaped and rushed outside, driven by all-consuming hatred.
"Where are you going? Tokiyori, stop!" Ariana called out, but it was pointless. Revenge consumed Tokiyori, and nothing could hold him back. In moments, he had vanished from Ariana's sight, leaving her standing there, helpless and anxious.
Ariana sighed, exasperated.
"Why do I always have to babysit such fools?" she muttered under her breath.
Determined not to let Tokiyori act recklessly, she bent down and leaped after him, her focus now on catching up.
"Now, tell me about the plan, Spirit Queen," Ariana asked as she chased after Tokiyori.
"Okay," Lyrael responded, her voice steady as she began transmitting the plan directly into Ariana's mind. As the details unfolded, Ariana realized just how risky the plan was, but she knew it was necessary. After all, they were dealing with the Chimera Ant King, a threat that couldn't be underestimated.
As Tokiyori leaped toward the entrance of the dungeon, his mind solely focused on getting outside, Zephorix suddenly appeared in front of him. However, Tokiyori was so focused on his goal that he didn't even slow down, passing Zephorix in an instant.
Moments later, Ariana, in hot pursuit, spotted Zephorix and tried to stop, but she was moving too fast. Unable to halt in time, she collided with Zephorix, landing on top of him.
When Zephorix opened his eyes, he found himself in an awkward situation—his face tightly wedged between Ariana's chest.
Ariana quickly pulled herself off, blushing with embarrassment. As she sat up, her cheeks flushed not only with embarrassment but also with a hint of happiness.
"Are you okay? It wasn't intentional," Zephorix said, trying to lighten the situation.
"Don't worry, if you want, I can embrace you as much as you like," Ariana teased with a gentle smile.
Zephorix chuckled,
"You can still joke in this situation?"
Ariana stood up, extending a hand to help Zephorix to his feet. He took her hand and stood, grateful for the gesture.
At the entrance, Tokiyori's frustration was growing. He called out,
"Lyrael! What is this, Spirit Queen? You said you wanted to be allies, but you treat us like servants!"
Silence filled the air as Lyrael pondered the accusation. After a long moment, she turned to Zephorix. A voice echoed through Zephorix's mind:
"Zephorix, your subordinate..."
"Don't worry. Let him be," Zephorix responded, nodding in quiet agreement.
"Open the entrance. Don't worry, we'll be catching up with him soon," Zephorix assured.
Lyrael nodded and, with a wave of her hand, the massive door creaked open. Tokiyori braced himself, and the moment the gate was fully ajar, he leaped outside. Awaiting him were six Chimera Ants guarding the entrance.
The sight of the grotesque creatures made Tokiyori's blood boil with rage. Without hesitation, he charged at them, slicing through the Chimera Ants mercilessly, one by one, his anger fueling every strike.
Soon, the 20th King and his Royal Guard noticed the commotion outside. The 20th King, with a raised brow, asked,
"What is happening?"
The Royal Guard bowed slightly and replied,
"Your Majesty, it seems a rat is trying to resist us."
A sinister smile spread across the 20th King's face.
"Oh? Someone foolish enough to stand against me?" he mused, a dark chuckle escaping his lips.
"Alright then, let him be. Let him struggle. I'm quite interested to see how far he dares to go," the 20th King said, his eyes gleaming with cruel anticipation.
