Chapter 16: Beauty and the Beach

(Last time, Mew and her friends escaped from the sunken St. Anne is able to reach tropical Island of Porta Vista.)

(Mew also has gotten sick and rushed to the medical center.)

(This is one adventure they aren't going to forget.)

(The next day, Mew and her friends are going to have some fun.)

(Gary and Brock are the first to jump into the water.)

(Gary says.)

Gary: "The water's cool."

Brock: "And the beach is hot,"

(Brock says.)

(Just then, Mew and Misty walk over and wear their swimsuits.)

(Pikachu, Eevee, Teddiursa, Sobble, and Scorbunny join in.)

Mew: "Hey guys.

Misty: "I thought you were going to wait for us by the snack bar. How's the water?"

(Misty says.)

Brock: "The water's great,"

(Brock says.)

(Gary tries to calm down.)

Gary: "Yeah. Uh, sorry about that."

Mew: "That's okay We're going to go for a swim anyway."

(Mew says. happily says.)

(Scorbunny shakes her head in reply.)

Brock: "Since Scorbunny is a Fire Type, it doesn't want to get in the water."

(Brock says.)

(At a different area, a strange metal made Gyrados rises from the water, and inside that sub is Team Rocket: Jessie, James, and Meowth.)

(They are using pedal power to power up the submarine.)

Jessie: To protect the world from devastation.

James: To unite all peoples within our nation.

Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love.

James: To extend our reach to the stars above.

Jessie: Jessie.

James: James.

Jessie: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light.

James: Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight.

Meowth: Meowth! That is right!

(Jessie laughs and says.)

Jessie: "Porta Vista's straight ahead and positively packed with wealthy tourists."

James: "We'll hit the beach with our Gyarados sub, scare the wallets out of those beach bums, and live the lifestyles of the rich and infamous!"

(James says.)

Meowth: "Champagne wishes and catnip dreams, here we come!"

(Meowth adds.)

(Jessie looks through the periscope to see a fast boat heading straight for them.)

(In the boat are Mew and her friends and they are freaked to see how fast the boat is going and they can't stop.)

(Teddiursa and Sobble are practically crying and Mew and Misty try to calm them down.)

Brock: "How did we get ourselves into this mess?!"

(Brock asks.)

Gary: "It only happened when we saw two thugs trying to steal it and Mew tried to stop them."

(Gary says.)

Misty: "But you accidentally broke the acceleration switch and it moves so fast that we can't stop!"

(Misty screams.)

Mew: "I think we're in big trouble now!"

(Mew cries out.)

(Pikachu and Eevee scream.)

Pikachu and Eevee: "Pikachu! Eevee!" (Up ahead!)

(The boat then collides with the fin on Team Rocket's sub, and both vehicles break.)

(Under the sea, Team Rocket's sub is spinning out of control.)

Mew: "Something broke! We can't stop!"

(Mew screams.)

Brock: "Look out for that dock!"

(Brock cries out.)

(The next moment the boat smacks right into the docks and it comes to a halt.)

Misty: "That was frightening."

(Misty says.)

(Mew then calls out.)

Mew: "Is everyone alright?"

(Everyone agrees that they're fine.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Is everyone on the dock okay, if you can hear me?"

[Suddenly...]

(someone calls out.)

???: "I'm fine, but look what you did to my boat and my dock!"

(The group leaves the boat and soon meets an elderly man wearing an orange with green leaf hawaiian shirt with blue shorts, sandals, and wears a straw hat, and he is not very pleased.)

(Mew and her friends walk on the dock to meet with the man.)

Mew: "We're sorry about that. We didn't mean to wreck it."

(Mew says.)

Misty: "She's right We were trying to stop two men from stealing it."

(Misty says.)

(The old man looks at the girls with a smile and says.)

old man: "You remind me of my granddaughters."

Misty: "We don't have too much money, but maybe we can work to help pay for the damages."

(Misty says.)

old man: "You would?"

(The old man asks.)

(Mew nods her head.)

Mew: "Um yes, and we'll uh do our best to help fix your dock and your boat.

[Meanwhile...]

(Team Rocket has dragged themselves onto the beach from the ocean, and are exhausted.)

Meowth: "I wanted to hit the beach, but not like this."

(Meowth groans.)

(Then James says.)

James: "It's not fair! Every time we come up with a foolproof plan, those twerps mess it up!"

Jessie: "Now we'll have to figure out how to repair our boat."

(Jessie says.)

(Then someone walks over to Team Rocket.)

???: "Hey."

(They turn their heads to see an old woman wearing a pink dress sock and sandals.)

(She has red hair in pigtails tied by green fuzzy hairbands.)

(The woman says.)

Old woman: "This beach is for my restaurant patrons only. And I don't need no squatters."

(James stands up and quickly says.)

James: "Maybe you need some waiters."

Jessie: "Surely you can't be serious, James!"

(Jessie disagrees.)

(But Meowth reminds them.)

Meowth: "But, Jess, we need dough to fix our Gyarados boat!"

(Jessie soon sighs in defeat.)

(The woman says.)

Old woman: "Working for me ain't no picnic. I can be brutal!"

(James nervously laughs and says.)

James: "We work with Jessie, so we know all about brutal."

[Soon...]

(Mew and her friends are working for the old man at his bakery.)

(Turns out the old man name is Moe and he agrees to let them help.)

(Brock calls out.)

Brock: "French fried flounder! Seven layer crab cakes! Get 'em while they're cold!"

Gary: "Try our new squid on a stick!"

(Gary says.)

(Then Brock says.)

Brock: "And our clam juice snow cones!"

Pikachu: "Pika Pika!" (Come and get it!)

(Pikachu calls out.)

(However, no customers will come at all.)

(They are able to ask some if they want to come, but they decide to go to a different restaurant close by.)

(At the lovely looking restaurant, Jessie calls out.)

Jessie: "Welcome to Brutella's Ocean Chateau. Come up to our terrace. Enjoy our seafood and sea views."

(Jessie then sticks her tongue at the two.)

Gary: "Hey! Isn't that the Team Rocket member from the cruise."

Brock: "Jessie looks good in that outfit."

(Brock comments.)

(Misty, Mew, and Eevee step out to see them.)

Mew: "What is she doing here?"

(Mew wonders.)

Eevee: "Eevee." (Trouble.)

(Eevee comments.)

(Jessie calls out.)

Jessie: "A top quality restaurant attracts top quality people!"

(On the upper floor are James and Meowth serving drinks.)

James: "And a no quality dive attracts the bottom feeders!"

(James adds.)

Meowth: "Yeah, you losers!"

(Meowth adds.)

(Pikachu becomes angry.)

Pikachu: "Pika! (Losers?!)

(Hearing being called losers is not pleased for the heroes who are working at the restaurant.)

(Mew then holds out her Pokeballs.)

Mew: "We'll show them we're not losers!"

Mew: "I choose, everybody!"

(Mew says, calling out the rest of her Pokemon.)

(Everyone comes out and lands on the beach.)

[Soon...]

(the trainers and Pokemon get to work.)

(Some of the Pokemon like Pikachu, Scorbunny, Squirtle, Teddiursa, even little Ponyta pass out fliers.)

(Butterfree and Pidgeotto keep the choral hot, Charmander helps with the fire.)

(Bulbasaur, Mew, Eevee, Grookey and Misty wait on tables.)

(Soon, lots of people come to the restaurant and are having a good time.)

(Some of the kids also like to see Pokemon.)

(Brock and Gary put up the umbrellas for the shades.)

(It also comes as a surprise for some people to see rare Pokemon like Grookey, Sobble, and Scorbunny, even a Galarian Ponyta.)

Mew: "Looks like everybody wants to eat in the only Porta Vista restaurant with Pokemon!"

(Mew says.)

(At Brutella's restaurant, Team Rocket is seeing the other restaurant become a success.)

James: "Everyone's eating at the "twerp-ateria"!"

(James says.)

(Then Jessie says.)

Jessie: "If all the customers go to their place instead of here, we won't make any more money!"

(Then Meowth says.)

Meowth: "This calls for some old fashion sabotaging!"

[Soon enough...]

(Team Rocket begins to sabotage Moe's restaurant.)

(They blew away the flyers, messed up the cooking and even more to keep customers away.)

(Soon, the customers decide to leave and go to the other restaurant.)

(Mew then turns her head to see Team Rocket laughing, and suspects Team Rocket has something to do with it.)

(Later, everyone is distraught with the accidents that recently happened.)

Gary: "Moe, we're really sorry with the way we messed things up for you."

(Gary says.)

Moe: "You all did the best you could, at least things we're going good for a while until those accidents started happening."

(Moe says.)

Brock: "I guess so,"

(Brock says.)

(Then Misty says.)

Misty: "Something's weird! There's no way those were all just accidents!"

(Just then, Mew walks in.)

Mew: "And she's right! I say Team Rocket sabotages us."

(Suddenly, someone says.)

???: "Well, well."

(Everyone turns their heads to see the old woman and Team Rocket is with them.)

Moe: "Brutella!"

(Moe says, angrily.)

Mew: "And Team Rocket!"

(Mew angrily says.)

(Pikachu and Eevee are not happy to see them either.)

(Brutella walks over and mocks.)

Brutella: "Don't need a reservation to get in here anymore! If things keep up like this, you might have to go out of business, Moe!"

Gary: "What do you care?"

(Gary asks.)

Brutella: "I couldn't care less if this dump goes under, but you better find some way to pay me back the dough you owe me, and fast!"

(Brutella says.)

(Moe says.)

Moe: "You'll get your money!"

Brutella: "Yeah? Well, I want it tomorrow! And if you don't pay me back every penny, I'll just take that boat of yours instead."

(Brutella says.)

(Moe panics.)

Moe: "No, please! Take anything you want, but not that boat!"

Brutella: "See ya tomorrow!"

(Brutella says then chuckles as she walks away.)

James: "The clock's ticking!"

(James mocks.)

(Jessie says.)

Jessie: "Hope you don't get the money!"

Meowth: "Cause that boat of yours is our honey!"

(Meowth says.)

(Then Team Rocket leaves with Brutella.)

(James adds.)

James: "We'll pick it up tomorrow!"

(Mew clutches her fist and says.)

Mew: "I knew it was them."

(Soon, Moe is beside himself about possibly losing his boat.)

Moe: "The deadline's tomorrow, but there's no way I can earn that money in less than a day! I guess I'll have to hand my boat over to Brutella."

(Moe says.)

(Mew says.)

Mew: "Wait, Moe! That boat's really important to you, isn't it?"

(Moe nods his head.)

Moe: "For years I've been dreaming about taking it on a cruise around the world. I wanted to see the world before it's too late, but I guess it wasn't meant to be."

Mew: "Don't say that, Moe! You can't give up on your dream! You have to follow your dream, no matter what!"

(Mew says.)

Gary: "She's right. We all have our own dreams, it may not be easy, but we have to work hard to make it come true."

(Gary says.)

(Then Mew.)

Mew: "Please, Moe. Please don't give up. You can't give up! Not when your dream is so close to coming true!"

Brock: "Mew's right. You can't let that lady take your boat away."

(Brock says.)

Mew: "We can get the money somehow!"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "We'll work together!"

(Misty says.)

(All of the Pokemon agree with smiles.)

(Moe asks.)

Moe: "You think it's possible?"

Mew: "Anything's possible, Moe! We're gonna make it happen!"

(Mew says.)

Moe: "But how? In one day?"

(Moe asks.)

(Soon, everyone begins to think of an idea.)

(Suddenly someone says.)

???: "Mind if I make a suggestion?"

(Everyone turns their heads to see Professor Oak and he is wearing sandals, teal shorts, and a yellow shirt with pineapples on it.)

Professor Oak: "I think it's a good one."

(Professor Oak says.)

Mew: "Professor Oak!"

(Mew happily says.)

Gary: "Grandpa,"

(Gary says.)

[Just then...]

(a young grown woman walks in and she has long brown hair, and wears a blue swimsuit with a white short sleeve jacket.)

(The other one is a younger age, and she has light brown hair and wears a pink swimsuit)

???: "Hi Gary. Mew,"

(The woman happily says.)

(Gary says in surprise.)

Gary: "Mom? Daisy?"

Mew: "Hi Daisy. Adriana. I didn't expect to see you here,"

(Mew happily says.)

Daisy: "And there's someone else here to see you too."

(Daisy says.)

(The group soon became confused.)

(Walking inside, is the Pokemon known as the Thunderclap Pokemon, Master of Pallet Town's Forest and Mew's father, Zeraora.)

(Mew gasps with a smile.)

Mew: "Papa!"

(Mew hugs Zeraora and the large Pokemon hugs her back.)

Misty: "That's Mew's father?!"

(Misty asks, surprised.)

Brock: "Woah! So that's Zeraora, and Mew's dad."

(Brock says, surprised.)

(Mew then looks to see her father.)

Mew: "So papa, how is everyone back at home."

(Then turns to the Professor.)

Mew: "So what are you doing?"

Professor Oak: "We'll explain later. Look at this."

(Professor Oak says, handing Mew a magazine.)

[Soon...]

(they see an ad for an event.)

["The annual Beach Beauty and Pokemon Costume Contest."]

Mew: "It's happening today!"

(Mew says, reading the ad.)

Brock: "A beach beauty contest sounds excellent!"

(Brock says.)

(Mew asks.)

Mew: "But how is this gonna help us, Professor?"

Professor Oak: "The contest draws thousands of people each year, and most of those people get hungry. They'll all be looking for a place to eat, so why not advertise this place? You'll clean up, and you'll have the money you need by the end of tomorrow."

(Professor Oak says.)

Misty: "Hey Mew, maybe you and I can enter the beauty contest."

(Misty says.)

Professor Oak: "You should. There are cash prizes for both the beauty and the costume contests."

(Professor Oak says.)

Mew: "Well, our money worries are over!"

(Mew happily says.)

[Soon...]

(everyone begins to cheer for the idea, and begin to work, the flying Pokemon showers the poster for the contest to the people below.)

(Seeing the contest catch their interest.)

(Soon, Brock speaks through the speaker.)

Brock: "Ladies and gentlemen, we're happy to announce that the Porta Vista Beach Beauty and Pokemon Costume Contest will soon begin! There's a thousand dollar prize for the winner of each category! It's not too late to sign up, so hurry and enter!"

(Mew cheers.)

Mew: "Yay! Professor Oak was right! The place is packed!"

Misty: "This is perfect!"

(Misty says.)

(In tears Moe happily says.)

Moe: "And I'll be able to pay Brutella her money!"

(Meanwhile Brutella is furious to see how much success they're doing, and needs to come up with a better plan.)

Adriana: "Professor Oak and I are with our tour group, the Pallet Town volunteer patrol."

(Adriana says.)

Gary: "That's great, mom. I'm sure glad you showed up."

(Gary says.)

(Professor Oak says.)

Professor Oak: "Your mother's been worried about you, Gary. She says she still thinks of you as her little pumpkin."

Gary: "Mom! I'm not a baby!"

(Gary says, blushing.)

(Adriana happily says.)

Adriana: "You'll always be my baby, won't you?"

Gary: "Yeah,"

(Gary says, embarrassed.)

(Daisy says.)

Daisy: "Glad to see you and Mew are doing good."

Gary: "Yeah. And I'm surprised Zeraora agreed about coming here."

(Gary says.)

Professor Oak: "Well, we told him that Mew was in the area and we asked if he wanted to come and see her. He was delighted."

(Professor Oak says.)

(Just then the beauty contest starts and Brock is the announcer for it.)

(Brock announces.)

Brock: "Welcome, everybody, the Porta Vista Beach Beauty and Pokemon Costume Contest is about to begin! Now, here's our first contestant!"

(The curtains open and everyone begins to cheer to see Misty is on the stage wearing her swimsuit.)

(Misty waves as she walks on the stage and says.)

Misty; "This is totally embarrassing and degrading, but we need the money."

(Brock announces.)

Brock: "This is Misty, the lovely and talented Water Pokemon trainer. Who sure is making a big 'splash' here today. Now let's see the kind of Pokemon she and her Pokemon have created.

(Right on cute, it's Starmie with Squirtle sitting on it.)

(It's also wearing a space helmet.)

Brock: "Well, this is a very imaginative costume. It's Starmie and Squirtle dressed as Extra Terrestrial in their own flying saucer."

(Brock announces.)

(Squirtle then sprays a little shower of water in the air.)

(That makes the whole crowd cheer.)

Brock: "Great job, Misty!"

(Brock says.)

[Just then...]

(Jessie comes on to the stage, and she's wearing a blue bikini.)

Brock: "And here is Jessie from the Rocket Boosters?"

(Brock says.)

(Jessie laughs as she waves, and she says.)

Jessie: "I'll be the one taking this victory."

(Back stage, Mew and Misty groan with annoyed looks on their faces.)

Mew: "Should have known you'll do something like this."

(Mew says.)

Misty: "At least it's just Jessie on stage."

(Misty replies.)

(Zeraora turns to Mew and growls a bit.)

Misty: "What's he saying?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "He asked if they're the ones that the Professor told him about that's been giving us some trouble."

(Mew says.)

(Then turns to her dad,.)

Mew: "And yes, they are."

(On the announcement, Brock says.)

Brock: "And now we'll be seeing Pokemon of the Rocket Booster dressed as a Legendary Pokemon."

(The curtains open to reveal Ekans coiled on Koffing and have seaweed on it.)

(Confused and dumbfounded, Brock says.)

Brock: "Uh, I believe it is a costume of an Omanyte or an Omastar, and the Pokemon are Ekans and Koffing."

(Everyone calmly claps with confused looks on their faces.)

Gary: "That has to be the lamest costume I have ever seen."

(Gary says.)

(Brock then announces.)

Brock: "And here is our next contestant."

(The contestant is Mew who is now walking on the stage.)

(She waves with a smile on her face.)

Brock: "This is Mew, a young Pokemon Trainer from Pallet Town and is a good friend to all Pokemon. And let's see what costume her Pokemon come up with."

(Brock says.)

(Running out on the stage is Eevee dressed as a Kanto Ponyta and her Galarian Ponyta.)

(Pikachu and Scorbunny are dressed as cowboys and the Galarian Ponyta and Eevee are their steeds.)

Brock: "Wow! Talk about fun and creative. Here we have Pikachu and Scorbunny dressed as Cowboys, riding on a Galarian Ponyta and Eevee dressed as a Kanto Ponyta.

(Brock says.)

(Lots of the people and especially the girls are in awe to see the Pokemon having fun, especially how cute the four of them are.)

[Meanwhile...]

(Brutella is having a word with Team Rocket.)

Brutella: "I knew all along that you three were really from Team Rocket."

(Brutella says.)

(Soon, Team Rocket begins to panic.)

(Brutella says.)

Brutella: "I got your Gyarados submarine all fixed. But if you don't do exactly as I tell you, you'll have to pay plenty for it."

Team Rocket: "Okay,"

(Team Rocket says, nervously.)

(Brutella leads Team Rocket to the submarine that is in shallow water.)

(Brutella says.)

Brutella: "Now go wreck that beauty contest and destroy Moe's restaurant!"

James: "You can count on us! Destroying things is our specialty!"

(James says.)

Jessie: "We're so good, we destroy things without even trying!"

(Jessie says.)

(Meowth says.)

Meowth: "We'll give it our worst shot!"

(Then they all run off and say.)

Team Rocket: "Let's go!"

(Then Team Rocket hop inside the submarine.)

(Once inside, Jessie says.)

Jessie: "Alright, let's go!"

(She then quickly covers her mouth.)

Jessie: "Oop! She's rubbing off on me!"

(The submarine lowers and heads out to sea.)

(Brutella smirks to see Team Rocket leaving.)

(Back at the contest, Mew and the others meet backstage to talk to each other about the contest.)

Misty: "Well, I can't wait for the result."

(Misty says.)

Mew: "I do hope we win. We'll have more than enough money for Moe."

(Mew says.)

Brock: "I'm sure you'll both win this whole contest all the way."

(Brock says.)

[Soon...]

(Team Rocket's Gyarados sub reaches the surface and Jessie sees the view through the periscope.)

(Jessie laughs and says.)

Jessie: "Target sighted! Fifteen degrees right! Now we'll teach those tourists!"

James: "We'll scare the tans off them!"

(James adds.)

Meowth: "I can't wait till we crash their beach bash!"

(Meowth says.)

Jessie: "For once, I think we've really got a foolproof plan, don't you?"

(Jessie says.)

(Then James says.)

James: "There's no stopping us this time!"

(Underneath the sub, treads appear and the submarine rises to the surface.)

(Soon, everyone hears the screaming and panics saying a Gyarados is coming this way.)

(In the sub, Jessie laughs.)

Jessie: "Our plan is working!"

Meowth: "They're running scared!"

(Meowth says.)

(James adds.)

James: "It doesn't get better than this!"

(The submarine comes up to the surface and begins to chase everyone away, screaming and panicking.)

(Mew grabs the microphone and calls out.)

Mew: "Just stay calm, everybody! That thing's not a real Gyarados, it's a fake! It's a phony! It's just a phony Gyarados!"

[Soon...]

(everyone begins to stop and look to see that it is a fake.)

(Mew then says.)

Mew: "Team Rocket is trying to ruin the contest and scare everybody away! We're not gonna let 'em!"

(Gary smirks and knows what will come next.)

Professor Oak: "That's New for you."

(Professor Oak says.)

(Zeraora nods his head in reply.)

(In the sub, Team Rocket is not happy to see what Mew is doing.)

Jessie: "That twerp's ruining everything again! She sees right through our little smokescreen!"

(Jessie says.)

"James: Where there's smoke, there's..fire!"

(James says, and presses a button.)

(Then a missile flies out of the sub's mouth and right towards them.)

Brock: "It's heading this way!"

(Brock calls out.)

Gary: "So now what do we do?"

(Gary asks.)

Mew: "Stop it, what else,"

(Mew says.)

(Brock turns to Mew.)

Brock: "Mew, I think that looks like one of those heat-seeking missiles."

Mew: "No sweat! Charmander! Pidgeotto!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Pidgeotto and Charmander jump on the stage.)

(Pidgeotto picks Charmander and they fly in the air.)

(Mew then calls out.)

Mew: "Okay, Charmander! Use Flamethrower!"

(Soon Charmnader fires the flamethrower at the missile and it burns it.)

(Then the missile begins to aim at Team Rocket.)

(Team Rocket sees it and panics.)

Jessie: Prepare for trouble!

James: From the way things look, I think you can make that double!

Meowth: Meowth, that's right.

(The sub begins to zip away from the missile.)

(Jessie screams.)

Jessie: "Pedal harder! We can outrun it!"

Meowth: "Hurry up!"

(Meowth panics.)

(Team Rocket continues to pedal faster and faster as the missile is getting close to them.)

(Without seeing where they're going, Team Rocket smacks into Brutella's restaurant.)

(Seeing them coming this way, Brutella panics.)

Brutella: "Stay away! Don't come any closer! The bomb is right behind you!"

(Brutella sees them coming closer and she runs inside.)

(Soon, the submarine and the missile strike at the restaurant and blow it up.)

(And as usual, Team Rocket, and now Brutella is sent flying.)

(Team Rocket screams.)

Team Rocket: "We're blasting off again!"

(By the end of the day, and the contest, Misty ends up winning the beauty contest and Mew's Pokemon ends up winning the costume contest.)

(And thanks to the advertisement, they help Moe earn more than enough money to pay the repairs, pay off Brutella, and for him to live his life long dream.)

(Soon enough, Moe is sailing off on his boat.)

(Mew waves goodbye.)

Mew: "See ya, Moe!"

Misty: "Goodbye!"

(Misty says.)

Brock: "Thanks for everything!"

(Brock says.)

(Moe waves goodbye and says.)

Moe: "So long, kids! Goodbye, Pikachu and Eevee! And thanks for helping make my dream come true! I'll never forget you! Good luck on your Pokemon journey!

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Thanks, Moe! And good luck to you, too!"

(Everyone waves goodbye as they call out to Moe to see him off to explore the world.)

(Mew and the others soon meet with Professor Oak, Gary's family, and Zeraora.)

Mew: "We gotta get going too."

(Mew says.)

(Zeraora nods his head.)

(Mew walks to Zeraora and the two hug each other, that makes the other smile.)
