Ahri, the Nine-Tailed Fox, is a member of the Vastaya, a race with animalistic traits, similar to the Mink Tribe in the One Piece world.
The Vastaya encompass a wide variety of beings, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and merfolk.
Ahri is a unique individual among the Vastaya, naturally attuned to the magical realms of the mind.
This connection is the reason Orlan's dream journeys occasionally intersect with Ahri's presence.
Orlan's strong mental resistance renders him immune to Ahri's natural charm abilities, and his immense mental energy can even replenish Ahri's daily consumption.
After several encounters, they developed a pen-pal-like relationship, or rather, a "dream-friend" connection.
"It's definitely been seven days. I wouldn't forget. Last time you appeared, you mentioned conducting business at Bilgewater's port. I was curious why you showed up so frequently," Ahri said.
Orlan was certain that several months had passed since he left the Valley of Gods. It seemed the flow of time differed between the two realms.
"A slight mishap. Please relay a message to Piltover for me: I won't be returning for a while. Have them proceed as usual. Any issues, they should consult Professor Heimerdinger."
The location of his dreams was uncontrollable, and encountering someone who could carry a message back was rare.
"You want a weak girl like me to cross the ocean just to deliver a message?" Ahri teased.
"Are you weak? It's not that troublesome. Just find Sett's people. I'm unsure when I'll meet another familiar face, so I'm counting on you."
"Sett? That madman from the fighting pits? He'd help you?"
"I'm well-acquainted with his mother. You've probably heard of her. That guy is half a mama's boy."
The night wind blew, leaving Ahri momentarily speechless. She felt something was off in Orlan's words but couldn't pinpoint it.
"You have so many secrets... What trouble did you encounter? Need help?"
"Some unique experiences. You guys can't help... Time's almost up. I'll bring you more interesting stories next time."
Orlan's body gradually faded, as if he had never been there.
"A troublesome man, always ordering people around," Ahri muttered, turning to walk along a forest path. The journey to Sett's territory wasn't short. To deliver the message from Ionia to Piltover across the ocean, she couldn't afford any delays.
...
Morning sunlight shone on Orlan's face. Compared to the previous day, not much had changed in the Sorbet Kingdom.
Besides their daily studies, Kuma and the others added a new activity: exploring the world with Blitzcrank. Though the metal shell remained cold, Blitzcrank's inner self was growing.
"Right there, Blitzcrank! Grab it!" Kate sat atop Blitzcrank's head as the mechanical claw shot into the sea, pulling out a tuna with an elephant-like trunk.
Blitzcrank's learning module progressed quickly. While grabbing the elephant tuna, it released an electric current, stunning the fish instantly.
"What a strange fish. It has a nose like Zunesha," Kate remarked.
"That's an elephant tuna, a specialty of the South Sea. It's considered an ocean gem, a miraculous ingredient. The nose part is the most delicious," Blitzcrank explained based on its knowledge module.
"Blitzcrank, you know so much," Kate said.
"The master recorded the relevant knowledge in my program," Blitzcrank replied.
"Do you know what Orlan likes most?" Kate asked. Orlan often appeared indifferent, his actions driven by strong purpose. Neither Kate nor Kuma understood what truly went through his mind.
"No related data. Blitzcrank will inquire with the master tonight."
"Wait! There's no need to ask that. Don't you know what private topics are?" Kate exclaimed.
"Don't understand. Blitzcrank is still learning."
Blitzcrank's logic mechanism, though sophisticated, sometimes made interactions with it maddening.
Just then, a steam whistle sounded in the distance. A uniquely shaped steamship appeared in the waters of the Sorbet Kingdom.
Unlike typical streamlined vessels, this one resembled a cylinder, with "MADS" prominently displayed on its hull and a flag above bearing "pacifist" to indicate peace.
Months had passed since the Valley of Gods incident, but the situation at sea hadn't improved.
Under Rocks' suppression, a group of monsters barely held together around Beehive Island. Now, with Rocks' downfall, restless individuals set sail again. The Big Mom Pirates, Whitebeard Pirates, and Flying Pirates increased the sea's pressure.
The navy was stretched thin, and the spread of conflict widened.
At this time, some people began to take action.
One of the underworld leaders, known as "The Loan Shark King" Du Feld, started investing in charitable enterprises for his reputation.
With his funding, the MADS Peace Research Institute was established, recruiting scientists needing research funds. Du Feld financed their peace-related projects, achieving his goals regardless of the results.
Leading MADS was Vegapunk, who, though not yet world-renowned, had gained some fame in certain areas. This secured Du Feld's support. MADS was now sailing around, researching and recruiting new talents, seeking hidden geniuses worldwide.
They arrived at the Sorbet Kingdom due to damage to their ship, learning that the kingdom might have superior metalworking capabilities.
"This remote place doesn't look like it has a smelting plant. Vegapunk is so easy to fool," complained two researchers with non-mainstream yellow haircuts. They had joined MADS for research funding but didn't respect Vegapunk's leadership, believing their skills surpassed his.
Despite their rivalry, they shared a common disdain for Vegapunk.
"Indeed... Wait, Quinn, what's that thing over there?" one of them, Judge, asked.
"Judge, you're just as clueless. A robot in this backwater place?" Quinn replied.
