Jacquelyn's heart went into a frenzy; she was scared at the moment. If the demoness was really back, then she wasn't safe either. Knowing how scary it was to be trapped in her own body, Jacquelyn didn't want to relive the moment, even if it was for a day. She didn't even want to think about it, to have her body controlled by a demoness.
Out of fear, she squeezed her hands tightly. She didn't want to be separated from Kael anymore. When her eyes fell on Kael, he shook his head, a subtle movement then his lips curled into a small but reassuring smile. Jacquelyn read the expression immediately to mean that she had nothing to be afraid of.
It worked because she slowly let go of her hands, but Iva wasn't having it. She was raging at the moment; her red eyes blazed with fury.
"I knew it! That devil!" Iva cursed, trying to stomp out of the castle. "I'm going to kill her myself!"
