Lansheng had made dinner and went to call Shi Aiqiao.
Shi Aiqiao hadn't fallen asleep but was mostly rested.
The table was set with dishes she liked. She sat down, ate the rice, and asked Lansheng, "Is your company short-staffed?"
"You want to go?"
"Can I?"
Lansheng thought for a moment, "What do you want to do?"
"Anything."
"Then I'll go to the company tomorrow to see if there's a suitable position for you."
Shi Aiqiao stared at him, "Don't you lack a secretary?"
Lansheng was taken aback, "No."
Shi Aiqiao felt as if even the tastiest dishes had lost their flavor.
In the end, Lansheng arranged for Shi Aiqiao to work in the finance department.
The finance department was a very important part of any company, generally difficult for average people to enter, mostly occupied by highly trusted individuals.
Shi Aiqiao was a complete outsider; no one knew her background or what she was capable of.
