Kelly’s POV
I was cleaning Pierce’s wound here in Emily’s apartment. I was sitting on the coffee table while Pierce was sitting on the couch. Leaning on the island counter was Emily, watching us with her arms crossed. I feel comfortable because I feel like she's waiting for me to tell Pierce about my pregnancy.
“Don’t tell me you didn’t even get to land a punch?” Emily said, mocking Pierce.
I looked at her and frowned. “Emily…”
She chuckled. “What? He’s a man but it seems to me that he’s weaker than you.”
I swallowed hard and looked at Pierce. He looked down, looking so ashamed.
Emily is a good friend. She’s become the older sister I never had but there are times that her words are just too insensitive and hurtful.
“Emily, can you give us some privacy?” I said even when it’s her own condo unit. When I looked at her, she just shrugged her shoulders and went to her room.
I looked at Pierce again and sighed. “Sorry about that.”
