Twenty days later, Shinsuke and Hidan finally returned to the Cult of the Evil God.
The main reason for the delay was that the supply convoy moved too slowly, forcing them to reduce their pace and return at a leisurely rate.
Of course, Shinsuke had already sent word back using the trained birds from the Mira Trading Company, ensuring everything went smoothly.
Outside the base, Master Takigi greeted them with a warm smile and kind eyes.
"Welcome home, children."
"Jashin forever!" Shinsuke and Hidan simultaneously pressed their cult's emblem necklaces to their foreheads and said reverently.
"How was the journey? Was everything smooth?"
After arranging for the transfer of supplies, Master Takigi spoke with concern as they walked.
"Except for encountering some insignificant petty thieves, everything went pretty smoothly," Shinsuke said, downplaying the situation.
Hidan, however, was more straightforward...
"Useless!"
Master Takigi first glanced at the Executioner's Blade on Shinsuke's back, then spoke with a hint of playful sarcasm, "A petty thief who can wield a decapitation knife is not that simple."
He then patted Shinsuke on the shoulder and laughed heartily. "Well done this time. The other side praised you two quite a bit in their letter. Even the agreed-upon support has been tripled, thanks to your efforts!"
"Is there anything you wish for? The Evil God will surely fulfill your requests."
Hearing Master Takigi's promise, Hidan eagerly spoke up, "I want to present a higher quality sacrificial offering to the Evil God!"
After Hidan spoke, Shinsuke noticed Master Takigi's smile falter for a moment before he replied with a hint of helplessness, "You may choose any sacrificial offerings from the dungeon below."
"I want high-quality offerings! The trash in the dungeon will only tarnish my faith in the Evil God!" Hidan shouted discontentedly.
In essence, Hidan worshipped the Evil God who gave him a new lease on life, not the current cult leader.
Faith can indeed be a double-edged sword!
Master Takigi, realizing that his brainwashing had been perhaps overly successful, became inwardly cautious. He continued to smile, "Your faith in the Evil God is unquestionable, but high-quality offerings are rare and quickly consumed. So, from now on, high-quality offerings captured will be prioritized for you. Additionally, you may capture your own offerings, and if you find exceptionally high-quality ones, I might even make an exception to hold a special sacrificial ceremony for you."
"Humph, I'll go rest now."
Hidan disdainfully turned away and left.
This trip to the Land of Waves had thoroughly shown Hidan how formidable he truly was!
If it weren't for the ever-steady Shinsuke by his side, Hidan might have become even more arrogant by now.
Seeing this, Master Takigi's discontent flashed briefly before he shifted his focus to Shinsuke.
Shinsuke, having more emotional intelligence than Hidan, decided to change the subject, especially with the current value of the Cult of the Evil God still being useful.
"Master Takigi, I want to forge a weapon."
"Oh? What kind of weapon? Don't you already have one?" Master Takigi asked with curiosity.
"This knife is only a temporary solution. It's not really suited to me," Shinsuke said with a hint of regret.
Master Takigi empathized with Shinsuke's sentiment. After all, no matter how good a weapon is, it won't perform at its best if it doesn't suit the user.
Compared to Hidan, Shinsuke's request was much more reasonable.
Without much hesitation, Master Takigi agreed, "All materials in the cult's treasury are available for use. If you have specific ideas, you can discuss them with the blacksmiths."
Shinsuke thanked him again, thinking that this would be a good opportunity to explore the other conditions for cursed tool transformation.
Several days passed.
Shinsuke was once again immersed in a busy life of blood draws, recording experimental data, practicing physical techniques, and training in cursed techniques.
Although his days were packed, the life was fulfilling.

Thus, it was crucial to quickly forge this iconic weapon for Hidan!
He was really tired of seeing Hidan wielding two watermelon cleavers and chopping wildly.
It was truly embarrassing!
Shinsuke swung the sickle a few times and found it quite satisfactory—good material, quality craftsmanship.
However, to his disappointment, the system didn't react at all.
This meant the Triple-Bladed Scythe couldn't be transformed into a cursed tool.
