20% Solo Cultivator in VR Game / Chapter 3: Cultivator

Chương 3: Cultivator

[Class 'Nirvana Blacksmith (Legendary)' has been—]

Finn's eyebrows shot up in disbelief.

He did not know the ranking system of classes.

But Legendary had to be among the top.

Moreover, a blacksmith could create weapons!

He should be able to forge Epic-grade swords and even higher grade items!

Just when he thought it was a good decision to join Infinite Realm, he noticed something.

The screen was frozen.

[Class 'Nirvana Blacksmith (Legendary)' has been—]

[Class 'Nirvana Blacksmith (Legendary)' has been—]

[Class 'Cultivator' has been awakened.]

[Awakening Talent…]

[Talent 'Absolute Sword Dao' awakened.]

Finn stared at the screen in disbelief.

His class was changed due to the error!

What the hell even was a Cultivator?

Was he supposed to become a farmer and cultivate crops!?

Finn faced the ball of light which seemed to have been frozen.

"Can I report the error and receive the Nirvana Blacksmith again? I can, right?"

"Oh."

The ball of light's voice was trembling.

"It's… it's not an error. You got Cultivator Class, the Nirvana Blacksmith class' appearance was a mistake."

He was not convinced.

The ball of light spoke as if listening to his thoughts.

"Don't worry! Cultivator is the strongest class! It's far more powerful than Nirvana Blacksmith!"

Finn pursed lips.

Yeah, he wasn't buying that.

Let alone a Legendary rank, he could not see any rank on the Class.

It was a bug.

It had to be.

He was about to complain when the ball of light added.

It was almost as if it was in a hurry.

"I have completed my task. The System will take over from here."

The ball of light disappeared.

Finn was left exasperated.

However, he did not leave the game to lodge a complaint.

The change of Class was probably not a bug; the ball of light's suspicious actions were a proof.

It was oddly secretive, true, but its actions felt exaggerated.

Was this "bug" intentional?

It could be.

Emma had once told him the games liked to look suspicious for some quests or items. It would usually lead to hidden scenarios.

So, the Class change was not a bug.

Probably.

Hopefully.

Because he did not have money to buy another headset.

A blue screen suddenly appeared before him.

[Please choose a name.]

"Finn."

[Please choose a faction.]

[Note, depending on the class, some factions might not be available.]

[Player Finn has only one faction in the choice pool.]

[Choosing Outer Gods faction by default.]

[Player Finn will be transported to Infinite Realm.]

[Player Finn might experience vertigo.]

[Please remain calm.]

In an abyss, where only darkness and chaos existed since the dawn of time, a ball of light appeared.

"Praise to the Great Lord! I've come to make a report!"

The ball of light, having completed Finn's briefing, was left flabbergasted.

It continuously blinked almost as if its appearance was mirroring its emotional state.

"A traveler has joined the fifth faction!"

The ball of light waited with bated breath.

Suddenly, the darkness shifted.

An ethereal voice reverberated.

"Good job. You can leave."

The voice sounded like the screeching of a banshee and the melody of a mermaid's song at the same time.

"Thank you!"

The ball of light disappeared.

Silence fell.

The ethereal voice echoed again.

"I suppose I should let the others know."

A pulse of chaos spread through the darkness.

It surged and came together to form a figure.

The figure, made of darkness, looked eerie and lifeless.

It took a step and disappeared only to reappear in a garden of flowers.

The garden housed millions of flowers, each unique and rare.

A woman sipped tea, sharing it with another guest who sat across the table, situated in the middle of the garden.

The woman stopped.

She placed the cup on the table and looked above.

As if on cue, the sky darkened.

The space was torn apart and violent energies, appearing through space cracks, began to destroy the garden.

A figure of darkness floated amidst the torn sky.

It raised its finger and snapped.

The space cracks suddenly disappeared and the garden returned to its pristine state.

"I apologize. It's always like this wherever I go."

"Don't worry about the garden." The woman smiled. "Welcome."

The shadow descended and sat on the third chair.

It turned to the old man with a long beard on the other seat.

"Greetings to the Elder."

The old man nodded.

He combed his fingers through his beard as he asked,

"What brings you out?"

"Before I answer, can we call Third?"

"We can't." The woman shook her head. "We lost contact with Third and haven't been able to reestablish it."

The shadow picked the tea cup filled by the woman.

"A traveler joined the fifth faction."

The woman and the old man's eyes grew sharp.

"So suddenly? Did the traveler have a Heavenly Dao or did they join it by mistake?"

"He awakened an Absolute Dao, but I saw no signs of a Heavenly Dao."

"Absolute Dao…" the old man answered after thinking. "Ignore him. If it's an Absolute Dao, there is no need to keep him under surveillance."

"Understood, I will follow the Elder's advice."

The shadow placed down the cup after emptying it.

"The tea was good."

The shadow disappeared.

After it left, the old man murmured,

"Absolute Dao, huh. Looks like the Infinite Realm will soon go through turbulent times."
