"Why did you kill Lizard? He only turned cruel due to the mutation serum, but he was a good person at heart!" Gwen confronted him.
Facing Gwen's questioning, Alex wasn't surprised. She was, after all, a kind-hearted girl, which was one of the reasons he admired her.
However, he preferred the people he liked to be kind-hearted, but he himself was not such a person. "Because he wanted to kill me. So he should have been prepared to be killed by me. It's that simple."
Gwen wanted to say more but remained silent. From Alex's perspective, he had acted in self-defense, which was justified.
But witnessing the death of a familiar elder figure before her left her at a loss for words. She decided not to say anything more and simply left with a parting remark, drifting away on a thread of webbing.
