Chương 10: 10: What Girlfriend?
"Yuuta-kun, amazing! Where did you learn to cook?!"
"Not gonna tell."
"Stingy... but still, you're amazing! Sigh~ Why am I so bad at things like this? My cousin is a man, but he's better than me."
Hina shook her head.
"Gender has nothing to do with cooking. Everyone can cook. Rat might better cooking then I do."
I just made Chinese cuisine for dinner. I thought, because of Hina's personality, she would be good at this until I fired her from the kitchen.
"What?"
Rui noticed my gaze.
"Nothing."
She's quiet and her personality is straightforward. But she's good at cooking. She helped me prepare the ingredients. I also heard she bought all the ingredients I found in the fridge.
"Right then! Thanks for the food!"
Hina said, grabbing her chopsticks, drooling.
"Wait."
I stopped her chopsticks with mine.
"What is this, Yuuta-kun? You can't stop my chopsticks from taking this amazing food. And this isn't kendo either, we're having a dinner here."
"Not that. We're gonna start eating without Aunty?"
"Oh? Ahaha! That reminds me. While you both were busy cooking, Mom texted me that she'll work overtime, so we can have dinner without her."
"I see. That's really unfortunate."
I let go of her chopsticks.
"Hina, taste the broth first."
"So there's a rule for eating this?"
"There's a saying, if you visit a Chinese restaurant and the broth is shit, you can leave the restaurant right away. Source, believe me."
"What? Really?"
Hina looked at Rui.
"Well, I don't know about what he just said, but the broth part is true."
"Eh... I see... anyway! Thanks for the food!"
Everyone don't have a problem with the food. Let's eat then.
"Bon appétit."
I said and started to eat. It's my cheat day, so I don't have to think about diet food. Hina began tasting the broth as Rui sighed at her sister's 'it's food anyway' demeanor.
"Thanks for the food."
Rui began to taste it and widened her eyes as she glanced at me.
"What?"
"Delicious."
"Thank you."
"This is good! The last time I visited a Chinese restaurant, it was the same, I think? No, I think this is far better!"
After that, we finished. Rui helped me clean up the dishes.
"Hiya! Beer after dinner is the best thing ever! As expected, having two younger sibling who good at cooking is the best."
Hina gulped down the beer can in one go. This woman wore clothes that showed how good her body, but she looked more like an old man after working whole day.
"Does she always do this?"
Rui sighed at my question.
"So embarrassing."
I glanced at her.
"She was the last person I thought who'd drink like that."
"Yeah, she might look elegant and cheerful for others, but she's dumb."
I know that this is an anime world, and I was that ex boyfriend from h-anime, but at least this is quite a realistic bond between siblings. After collecting my thoughts, I remembered these two are the main characters from that alabama anime back in the day. I dropped it earlier because it wasn't my taste. Now I'm here as if someone put me without me knowing it.
"You can rest. I'll finish the rest."
"Okay."
After that, I just chilled and played some video games in my room. Then, Hina stormed in with her beers. This woman. She should look in the mirror first; she wears short, tight clothes that show off her body and barges into my room like it's nothing. She should be grateful that I have self-control and ain't your average horny brat. By then, I realized it was already past 11 pm, and Aunt still wasn't home yet.
"Jeez, Mom seems to be working really late, or she might be meeting with Uncle again. I think Mom will get married again soon."
"I see. Well, I'm happy for her."
Wait. If I live with them, wouldn't that be too awkward? No, this is a good change. I'm going to ask Mom if I can live alone.
[KOOO!]
My bunny girl knocked out Hina's Hulk panda.
"Ah, mou! Yuuta-kun, you're cruel! You didn't let me win even once!" Hina said, grabbing another beer can.
"Ahh! So refreshing even I just lost." She dropped her beer on the floor with a satisfied expression.
"You should take care of yourself, Hina."
That amount of beer might kill her liver. I sighed and closed my eyes. I grabbed my diet cola cane, opened it and drink it.
"PFFFFFT! What the fuck?"
I looked at the can. Damn. I just drank Hina's beer instead of my diet cola.
"Puahahahahah! What's going on, Yuuta-kun? Hiek! You can't drink that yet. I don't think you should touch this kind of drink because I don't think you'll survive."
I looked at her, unamused. Did she just question my mightiness?
"Don't look down on me, Hina. Why would you think that? Huh—"
Wait. I see two Hina in front of me. I suddenly remember that, despite my mom being a strict and brilliant woman, she can't handle liquor well. I once saw her take a single drink at home, and she already looked dizzy.
"Hehe~ I told you. My experience told me. I can tell, Yuuta-kun... you are weak~"
Hina smirked at me.
"Hmmph. This mere beer is nothing but—hiek!"
"Kyahaha! I told you! Tch, tch, ya know what? Back when I was in university, my friends called me the beer-queen."
"Shud up, I'm... mighty."
She then took the beer from me.
"Yuuta-kun, why not go and sleep? You must be tired after your trip."
"Right. I guess so."
Yes, this is because I'm tired, not because I'm weak.
"Here, here, have a good night." She patted my head and touched my cheek. "Wanna kiss before going to bed?"
I clicked my tongue and slap her hand, "No, I refuse."
"What a shame. Well, if you lack sleep, it will be bad for this handsome face, and you might not get yourself a girlfriend."
I laughed at her.
"Girlfriend? I have one and she's—hold on..."
Suddenly, a rush of bad memories flooded my brain. Fuck. Why did I forget the part that I don't have a girlfriend now? Damn it, beer! I know this isn't my mom's fault, but I think I'm the same as her when in come to alcohol tolerance.
"Yuuta-kun, what's wrong? Why are you dazing like that?"
I ignored her and drank the beer in one go. Tch tch dammit! Not the flashback! Begone, begone my bad memories! After that, my mind and body went on auto-pilot, and I didn't remember anything.

(Rui POV)
At six in the morning, I found myself thinking about Yuuta as I jogged around the neighborhood. Even though it's still spring break and the morning is quite cold, I didn't want to slack off. However, Yuuta kept appearing in my thoughts ever since I met him yesterday.
Has it really been 10 years?
Ten years ago, I remember playing with him a lot during the summer. After that, we lost touch.
He's grown up that I almost didn't recognize him. He's taller than me now and looks more mature. Even though I didn't exactly enjoy his cooking during the last dinner, I guess I have to admit he's probably better at it than I am.
After finishing my laps, I returned home and took a shower.
"Should I make breakfast?" I wondered.
Yeah, let's do that. Since he made dinner last night, it's my turn to cook now. Also, Mom hasn't come back yet; she might have slept in a hotel after working overtime.
After I finished making breakfast, I noticed that no one else was awake yet.
It's Sunday, and I know Hina-nee doesn't work today, but she usually wakes up at this hour. I went upstairs to Yuuta's room and noticed the door was slightly open.
"Wake up... hm?"
What was that? I noticed a bra on the floor, so I stepped inside the room.
"Heh... he's grown up, hm..."
I see him half naked and Hina-nee also half naked and wearing oversize t-shirt. That must be his. What is going on here when I was slept last night? They still sleep soundly on the floor and I suspect, they won't woke up any soon after that much empty beer laying on the floor. After that, I didn't take Yuuta that serious like before.
