"We've reached out to the outpost and gotten a response." A young man among the crew shouted.
His name was Norman, and he was assigned by Lieutenant Lily to inform HQ of the situation and contact the outpost for details on any active units close by.
"What did they say?" Lily asked.
"A military unit the size of a company was dispatched two days ago. They were to investigate the surrounding region. However, news came in last night that a group of avian desolate beasts had escaped the black box perimeter. As for the unit, outpost has been unable to reach them ever since." Norman said.
The black box perimeter was the name given to the security perimeter set around Garena town about two kilometres away. It differed from the border perimeter the team had just passed.
"A company? Most likely they encountered the beasts." Nafir analysed.
Facts you might want to know:
Baylands City Defence Force is the official military of Baylands city-state. The Baylands City Patrol Corps, however, is the official military or security force for Baylands City. The Red Fangs is a special unit in Baylands City Patrol Corps responsible for high-risk cases and missions outside of the city. As such, they are more well equipped and trained than the regular members of the Baylands City Patrol Corps.
Each district has their own military, and each major city would have a police force. The district military would take on the suffixes "Defence Force" while the police would take "Patrol Corps". This was to imply that the two forces were subject to the authority of Baylands City's forces.
In other words, a member of the Baylands City Defence Force or Patrol Corps, was automatically of a higher rank than a member of the district Defence Force or Patrol Corps respectively. This rank wasn't one with real power (meaning they didn't have the authority to give out orders unless granted), but it was a rank that still existed.
It's like the difference between a police officer and a military officer. Usually, at the same level, the police officer is of a lower rank than the military officer, but that doesn't mean the military officer can order the police officer. Might be different in some countries, but this is my experience.
