Chương 2: 2. The Gift

Taking a couple of seconds to let everything all in, Ryan decides to try to act how Wells would. "Let's go home and leave those two alone for now. We're the last two they want to see right now." Thelonious shakes his head and frowns at his son. "Right now, I think you should say goodbye to Clarke son. Guards!" After shouting, two guards came and separated Clarke from her mom.

"Mom! What is happening?" Clarke screams for her mom while tears continue to run down her face. "Thelonious! She isn't a threat." Abby comes closer to to whisper something into the chancellors ear. "I already lost one Griffin today, I will not lose another." Thelonious sighs and signals the guards to take Clarke away. "We will speak about this in private later. For now, I will be heading home with my son to have a talk." Thelonious walks away with his arm around Wells shoulder while Abby stares a hole into his back.

Walking through the metal corridors of the Ark felt surreal. Ryan couldn't believe in under an hour, he was killed, met God, and then sent to the tv show he was watching when he died. After a couple of minutes, Ryan had finally been led to what appeared to be the Jaha residence. After closely watching Thelonious type in the code to their home, he followed him inside to a large room. The room was filled with picture of Wells and his dad and had a big desk in the middle of it. To the left were two doors that lead to their bedrooms and the right had a bathroom in it. Ryan remembered in the show that the rooms in the Ark weren't this big so this room must be special for only the chancellor.

Thelonious sits down at the desk and motions for Ryan to sit down in the chair in front of the desk. "Son, I know how much you care for Clarke, but you won't be able to see her for a long time. We received information that her and Jake were planning to release some very sensitive information. Jake was a friend, so you must see how hard today was not only for the Griffins, but for me too." Ryan listened to these words but couldn't focus. So much happened today and he need time to take everything in. Ryan with a blank face says, "I understand" and walks into what looks like his room while shutting the door behind him.

Sitting down on his bed, Ryan gathers all the information he just received. 'So God sent me to the 100 and put me inside the body of Wells Jaha. Wells was smart and from the first three episodes he looked kinda strong. With Jake Griffin being executed, Clarke should be sent to solitary confinement for 11 months before she is put onto the dropship. Octavia was caught at the masquerade party and was imprisoned for a year before the ground, so she should have already been caught.' Ryan gets up and looks around his room for things that may be helpful in his preparation for the ground. After a couple of minutes, all that could be deemed useful was a tablet he could do some reading on and a board game. 'Looks like people didn't have a lot of personal things on the Ark.'

Just as he was getting ready to explore the Ark, a thought came to his mind. 'Before I stepped into the portal, God had said he would give me something to survive.' As if this thought was an activation code, a screen popped into his vision with the words "Welcome". Ryan tried reaching out to the screen and when his hands reached through, the screen changed into a list of 3 words.

Ryan was dumbfounded when he saw this. He wasn't unfamiliar with the concept of a system because he read some novels a few years ago but for him to receive it as a gift was confusing. He could see no possible reason for God to give this to him out of everybody else. Putting these thoughts aside for the time being, Ryan chose to see the stats of the new body. He clicked on [Status] and the screen changed to a page telling him what this body is made of.

Looking at his stats, Ryan did not know if what he was looking at was good or bad. Was an intelligence of 5 really high or an average intelligence. And a charisma of 1 made no sense at all. Looking into the mirror in his room, he could clearly see that Wells wasn't an ugly guy. Moving on, he clicked to see what skills the previous Wells had left him with.

'Huh!? What do they mean N/A? How could he not have any skills? Does the system only list things that they deem worthy of being called a skill?' Not too happy with the skills tab, Ryan went on to see if he received any quests that could give him rewards and brighten his now soured mood. Clicking on the [Quests] tab, Ryan was surprised to see three quests waiting for him already.

Seeing his quests made Ryan very pleased with God's gift. He was glad he was given some quests to help him prepare to survive on the ground. Taking a glance at his first quest, he notice that he just completed it and is able to get a full on explanation on his system. Ryan quickly reaches his hand out to collect his reward.

[This system is made for you to improve yourself and those around you for what lies ahead. To begin the explanation, we will take a look at your stats.]

[Titles are achieved by doing actions that are deemed extraordinary by the system]

[HP stands for health points. Keep this from hitting 0 or your second life is over. This is determined by your [CON] times 10.]

[Strength [STR] determines how strong you are and how much damage you can inflict.]

[Dexterity [DEX] determines how fast your reflexes are and your balance.]

[Constitution [CON] measure how much damage you can take and how much stamina you have.]

[Intelligence [INT] measures the ability to acquire knowledge and memory.]

[Wisdom [WIS] measure ones ability to make decisions and ones perception.]

[Charisma [CHA] measures ones ability to interact with others and their overall appearance.]

[Agility [AGI] measures ones speed when running.]

[Luck [LUC] determines how often good things will happen to the host out of pure chance.]

[Now that the [Status] tab is explained, lets move on to the [Skills] tab. The [Skills] tab is currently blank because we want you to begin this new journey as a clean slate. We believe that letting you keep the stats of your previous body is more than enough to get you started! And some things about this world may be a little more difficult than you remember. Otherwise, things would be a little unfair.]

'Things will be more difficult for me than in the tv show? I knew this gift was too good to be true.'

[Lastly, the [Quests] tab is where the system will give you optional quests to aid you in your journey. That's it for the system, good luck in your new world!]

After the explanation, the system screen closed automatically. Ryan sits down thinking of the words left by the system. 'Things will be different. How different is this world compared to the original story? Will I get to the ground and have to deal with magic?' Ryan sighed and shoved these thoughts to the back of his mind. 'For now, I should. focus on increasing my stats and get some skills to help my chances at survival.'
