Jessica kept her gaze firmly fixed on her breakfast plate, determined not to meet Damon's eyes.

Once she was done with breakfast and Emily was done too, Lilian rose from her seat, stretching her arms as if she'd already been outside working. "Emily," she called with a gentle smile, "come with me to the garden. I could use some help weeding before heading out."
