Rubbing her temples, Beatrice slowly returned to her second-floor room.

Compared to the dazzling first floor, the second floor was left with dim, decorative lights casting a sunset-like red hue on the drapes and curtains.

Beatrice was a vampire; she did not need light, possessing the ability to see at night. Walking back to her desk, she stretched her limbs and took a bottle of wine from the cabinet behind her.

"This is the second time you've come in through the window, Anna. The last time was several years ago."

Succubus Anna stepped out of the shadows and approached Beatrice.

"Lady Beatrice, I would like to take a leave of absence for a while."
