(A/N: Hold on, hold on! If the Pokemons say their own names, then what would happen if Yu-Gi-Oh monsters with long ass names like Super Dimensional Sovereign Emperor Zero Paradox popped up there💀? Jesus Christ, the thought of it is hilarious lol! Imagine it just wanting to make a sound of agreement, but going :"Super Dimensional Sovereign Emperor Zero Paradox!" hurriedly lol!!)
-
Alistair :"I can't believe you would do something that stupid!"
Jade :"Babe, I think we all know I could and would do something that stupid."
--------------------------
'50%?! Holy shit!' Seeing the number, his eyes widened :'Wait, what are the requirements?! I don't need to kill an MC, right?'
[MC Slayer Lv 1: Defeat an MC in a duel once.]
'Oh, thank God. I mean, I should have expected that. The answer to all confrontations in Yu-Gi-Oh is through a duel. Argument? Duel. Matter of life and death? Duel.
So I just need to win against Jade once? Do we still have time? If I remember correctly, the duel should start at midnight. We still have a few hours to go, so I can finish a duel! It would be a waste if I wasted a daily gift of UR!'
"Hey, Jade?" As she turned to him, he grinned :"You up for a quick duel?" And her eyes immediately lit up, her plump lips turning into an excited grin :"You betcha! Come on then, you've got me hyped!"
Putting away her game console, she jumped to her feet to get her duel disk. But Alistair stopped her :"Oh, we're not doing it like that."
As she looked at him confused, he grinned :"We're doing this old school style!" Getting down, he explained :"Look, our duel disks have been modified to record all our duels. It's how we could see my dueling history in my PDA. But I don't want our match today to be recorded, so I want to do it old school style."
Jade grinned teasingly :"Why, afraid you'll lose?"
He rolled his eyes :"Oh, please, as if. Look, I'm quite sensitive to my surroundings, so I understood that Dr Crowler doesn't like you at all. It wouldn't take a genius to know that. And my guy feeling tells me that if he gets the chance, he'll definitely take it to get you in trouble.
And believe me, my gut feeling is never wrong. The reason why he can't trouble you directly is because you haven't lost a single duel despite being a Slifer Red! Your undefeated record is what's keeping you safe. So I don't want you to get in trouble later on just because we wanted to have some fun dueling."
She cocked an eyebrow, smiling in amusement :"Don't you think you're exaggerating it a bit? I mean, sure, he doesn't like me, but that doesn't mean he'll actively try to get rid of me."
'Oh, you sweet, innocent child. More than half of the series was about getting rid of you and the Slifer Red dorm.'
He shrugged :"Better safe than sorry, that's my motto." Before smiling :"And if you don't find that convincing, let's just say I like to duel old school style rather than with holograms. So, you wanna duel?"
Jade grinned again :"Doesn't make a difference to me as long as I get a sweet duel, pal! Let's get our game on!"
"That's what I want to hear! Just give me a second to organize my deck, then we'll throw down." He grinned, sitting down with his back to her as he started to make a quick, decent and cheap deck.
'Going all out against the people of this era with top tier decks is just too much. Other than satisfying my sadism, it doesn't have any other benefits. It takes away all the fun.
So instead of that, I'll use all the decks that I couldn't in my previous life! The decks that I literally couldn't afford to use, because they were just useless again Meta Decks. But here? Oh, I'm going to enjoy using all of them!
But which one should I use first? Hmm, I have 6,000 MDDP, so if I'm careful, I can manage to make a new cheap deck! And even if I come a few cards short, I can temporarily use the cards from my Branded Deck. Now, what to make, what to make...'
-
Normal Cards (N): 100 MDDP
Rare Cards (R): 500 MDDP
Super Rare Cards (SR): 5,000 MDDP
Ultra Rare Cards (UR): 25,000 MDDP
-
Thinking for a moment, he finally smirked :'If it's a deck of only N and R rarity, it has to be that deck!'
After creating his branded new deck, he took it out and smirked at Jade, who was organizing her own deck :"Alright then, shall we begin?"
Jade smirked back :"Do you even need to ask? Come on, get your game on!"
Sitting down on the ground, Alistair's eyes caught a glimpse of her crotch, where a distinct camel toe had formed :'Holy shit...' He took a deep breath, chewing on his lip :'I swear, when I get my hands on her...'
"You ready?" She smirked, pulling back his attention as he nodded :"I was born ready!"
Alistair/Jade :"Then let's duel!"
[1st Turn: Alistair]
"If you don't mind, I'll go first." Alistair drew his 6th card. Jade shivered, catching his attention as she smiled :"Oh, man, just remembering your first turn with those two in the class is getting me nervous."
He chuckled :"It's understandable. I would be too, if I was going against someone who can pull off those kinds of moves. But don't worry, you don't need to be nervous. Because I'm not using my Branded Deck."
"Huh? Why not?"
"Simple, it's not fun. There's no excitement, no thrill and no anticipation about what your opponent will do when the duel is decided on the first duel.
My Branded Deck is way too powerful. To the point where it's a problem. If I don't brick horrendously with it, even a single card is enough to get the entire thing going. And although that's an amazing thing, it's not fun when there's no challenge.
When you don't face any challenges anymore, that's when you've reached perfection. But perfection is fun for so long for someone like me. When you've reached perfection, it means there's no more room for growth.
That's the reason why I make new decks after completing another one. It's to face challenges and enjoy the feeling of growing with a new deck."
Jade looked a bit surprised :"Oh, wow, you take this pretty seriously, huh? I hadn't thought about it like that. Hahahaha, I mean, it's already hard to perfect one deck for others, but you're skilled enough to grow decks to perfection so frequently that it gets boring! I guess ordinary people like us can't get you!"
"Hahahaha, you're anything but ordinary. But you're wrong. Perfecting something isn't boring at all. In fact, knowing that there's a stop is what makes it fun. When you reach that stop, you bring something else to that stop. Then again and again.
But anyways! We got off topic! Back to the duel now! Now, let's see... hmm... first, I summon Gold Gadget in attack mode, and then activate its effect.
[Gold Gadget: Machine/ Effect/ Light/ Lv 4/ 1,700 ATK/ 800 Def]
When Gold Gadget is summoned, I'm allowed to special summon another Lv 4 machine monster from my hand, so I'll bring out Infinitrack Anchor Drill in attack mode.
[Infinitrack Anchor Drill: Machine/ Effect/ Earth/ Lv 4/ 1,800 ATK/ 500 Def]
And this card has an effect of its own, which lets me special summon another Earth attribute machine monster from my hand. So I'll special summon Red Gadget in defense mode. Also, when he's summoned, I can add Yellow Gadget from my deck to my hand."
[Yellow Gadget: Machine/ Effect/ Earth/ Lv 4/ 1,200 ATK/ 1,200 Def]
Jade's face twitched :"So much for facing challenges, you're special summoning left and right like your other deck!"
Alistair chuckled :"Don't worry, it's like this because I got a good hand. Next, I activate Infinitrack Anchor Drill's effect, which lets me target one other machine monster and raise the level of both Drill and that machine's to the combined level of both of them.
Basically, I target Red Gadget, which is Lv 4, and the level of both of these cards increases by 4, becoming Lv 8."
[Infinitrack Anchor Drill: Lv 4 -> Lv 8
Red Gadget: Lv 4 -> Lv 8]
Jade nodded, but looked curious :"Ooh, I get it, I get it. But why though?"
He smirked :"Because with two Lv 8 monsters, I can now contact fuse them in order to bring out a stronger beast which specifically needs 2 Lv 8 monsters. So say hello to Number 97: Draglubion! In attack mode, of course."
(A/N: Words cannot explain how much I love this card lol. It has all the qualities to be UR, from raw power to an amazing effect, but it's just freaking R! How cool is that?! Do you guys know any deck that's for this card and the other dragons? Please tell me if you do!)
[Number 97: Draglubion: Dragon/ (Xyz) Fusion/ Effect/ Dark/ Lv 8/ 3,000 ATK/ 3,000 Def
Fusion Materials: 2 Level 8 monsters
Effect(s): Your opponent cannot target this card with card effects. You can (detach 1 material from this card;) take 2 Dragon "Number" monsters with different names from your Extra Deck and/or GY, except "Number 97: Draglubion"; Special Summon 1 of them and attach the other to it as material, also for the rest of this turn you cannot Special Summon other monsters, or declare an attack, except with that Special Summoned monster.
You can only use this effect of "Number 97: Draglubion" once per turn.]
(A/N: And that's how Xyz monsters are Contact Fusion Summoned! Read the notes at the end about how it specifically works.)
"Whoa, 3,000 ATK?!" Jade's eyes widened :"How did two completely unrelated monsters become a boss monster with 3,000 ATK points?!"
Alistair smirked smugly :"That's just how powerful my cards are. And Draglubion isn't just strong. He also has one heck of an effect! You see, I can choose two dragon Number monsters from my fusion deck, special summon one directly to my field, but send the other one to the graveyard instead.
So by sending Number C92: Heart-eartH Chaos Dragon, I can bring out Number 92: Heart-eartH Dragon in attack mode!"
[Number 92: Heart-eartH Dragon: Dragon/ (Xyz) Fusion/ Effect/ Dark/ Lv 9/ 0 ATK/ 0 Def
Fusion Materials: 3 Level 9 monsters
Effect(s): This card cannot be destroyed by battle, also your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken from battles involving this card. During your opponent's End Phase: You can (detach 1 Xyz Material from this card;) banish all cards your opponent currently controls that were Normal or Special Summoned, or were Set, this turn. If this card is destroyed (while it has Xyz Material): You can Special Summon this card from the Graveyard.
When you do: It gains 1000 ATK for every card currently banished.]
"Geez, another one of these weird Number monsters?! Huh... wait, it doesn't have any ATK of Def points?" Looking at her twisting her head to see the ATK of Heart-eartH, he couldn't help but chuckle :"You're gonna break your neck at this rate. Here, just look at it."
As he handed her the card, she blinked :"Wait, –I– take all the damage?! Whoa, that's one sick superpower!"
'Wait, she wasn't reminded of Yubel? Considering they both share the same effect, I thought she would. Oh, well, whatever.' He shrugged internally before cocking an amused eyebrow :"Superpower? Don't you mean effect?"
Handing the card back, she crossed her arms under her big girls with a grin :"I rather call it superpower! You'll see why after seeing my deck! So, are you done?"
"Yup. I'll just set this card and end my turn. Your move." He smirked :"Show me what you've got."
[Turn 2: Jade]
Jade smiled with confidence :"With pleasure! I draw. Oh, sweet! Just what I needed! I activate Polymerization, which lets me fuse Elemental HERO Avian and Burstinatrix to create Elemental HERO Flame Wingman! Then I'll activate my field spell, Skyscraper!"
(A/N: First off, this part isn't in the word count. Let me explain about how effects for Xyz monsters will work. Originally, before this book's rewrite, it was decided to replace Xyz Materials with Xyz Counters instead. Same for Link monsters.
It was a great idea from one of my readers, and although that was a brilliant idea, it just wouldn't work out considering there aren't just a few Xyz monsters and they're not an archetype together. So it wouldn't make sense how monsters that are completely unrelated to each other have the same function.
It would only mean that it's a new summoning mechanic, and believe me, putting in something like that in the story would be cringe as fuck. I've seen it in another Yu-Gi-Oh fanfic where Synchro Summoning was added, and believe me, it made me cringe so hard I dropped that book.
So basically, instead of losing Xyz Materials, they're effects are once per turn, and we'll figure something out with more complicated monsters later on.)
