"What's… taking him so long? It's been over an hour already! We're gonna be late for fucking class!"
A rhythmic and hurried tap repeated itself over and over again as Matthew's friend, who was serving as a lookout outside the clinic, was starting to get agitated; his steps, just moved back and forth near the door as he waited for his friend to come out.
They were supposed to be in and out of there in less than 5 minutes, and yet he found himself just standing there for more than an hour. He had tried calling him on his phone, but he wasn't answering at all.
"So, I told him… I said my anaconda, not mitochondria! Pft!"
And very soon, he heard Dr. Raj and his medical disciples approaching from the hall.
"S…shit…!" The young man started knocking on the door, "Jasper… fuck, hurry up! Jasper! Shit… shit!"
The young man tried calling his friend on the phone again, but he still wasn't answering.
"Bro…" The young man then just opted to text him, "...I'm leaving you, bro. Don't tell me I didn't wait for you!"
And with him sending the text, he just started walking away.
"Hm?" Dr. Raj could really only blink a couple of times as he noticed the young man's hurried steps, and since he came from the direction of the clinic, the doctor's eyebrows began to lower in suspicion,
"Did that young man come from the clinic?"
The medical disciples also glanced back at Matthew's friend, causing him to just hasten his pace.
"Don't tell me they are stealing medicine again!?" Dr. Raj then quickly rushed back to the clinic, but as he opened the door, nothing seemed to be amiss at all — the only thing that changed is that the curtain of Lucian's cubicle was slightly open, and Dr. Raj doesn't remember leaving it like that.
"Hm…?" Dr. Raj squinted his eyes as he carefully approached Lucian's cubicle… before just pushing the curtains to the side…
…only to see that Lucian was no longer there.
"What—where did the patient—"
But before Dr. Raj could finish his words, the lavatory door of the clinic opened — and there was Lucian, carrying a large black insulated tote bag as he stepped out of the lavatory; the paleness of his face was already completely gone.
"Mr. Lucian…" Dr. Raj could really only blink a couple of times as he watch Lucian just casually walk toward him, "...You seem… recovered."
"I am," Lucian nodded, "I just needed a little rest and some water, Doctor."
"Huh…" Dr. Raj squinted before gesturing to Lucian to give him his hand so he could check his pulse, "...What the—your lith's already stabilized?"
"I suppose it has something to do with my Unique Constitution, Doctor."
"That… may be," Dr. Raj's eyes remained squinted as he let go of Lucian's wrist. He then took a few steps back before looking at Lucian from head to toe, "Huh… I would like to study your Unique Physique in the future. Return to the clinic in the future, I'll make sure to excuse you in your classes."
"I do not think that is going to happen, Doctor."
"Damn it," Dr. Raj clicked his tongue, disappointed in being refused almost immediately, "Anyway, I called your guardian and she said she is going to be here in a few minutes. Why don't I examine you more while—"
"Dr. Lucian!?" And before Dr. Raj could finish his words, Charlotte suddenly barged into the clinic, wearing a tight black leather suit and a pair of long boots.
"What—If it isn't the young lady Charlotte," Dr. Raj's eyes turned wide in surprise as he saw Charlotte just stomping her way toward them, "Wait—you're this man's guardian?"
"Yes," Charlotte quickly started circling Lucian to try and check for any damages, "And please don't call me young lady, I'm too old for that."
"Well, forgive me—but you were young the last time I saw you here in the Academy," Dr. Raj let out a confident chuckle, "And… what did you mean by Dr. Lucian? Is he—"
"I meant, 'Oh nawr, Lucian!'," Charlotte quickly cleared her throat.
"...Since when did you have an accent? And that doesn't even sound remotely close to what you just said," Dr. Raj raised an eyebrow at Charlotte. But before he could ask anything else, Charlotte just gestured to Lucian to leave and the both of them just quickly walked away,
"Wait…" Dr. Raj then looked at the door as Charlotte closed it behind her, "...Did that man have that bag when he was brought in here?"
"I can't believe I just called you Dr. Lucian in front of other people." As for Charlotte, she was just rushing to get away from the Academy as fast as possible, "This is why I wanted to change your name when I enrolled you here, Lucian!"
"I apologize for the inconvenience, Ms. Hall Master," Lucian shook his head, "But my name is the only thing I have left that my parents gave me, I would not like to remove or change it for even a single second for any reason at all."
"I know…" Charlotte breathed out in frustration, "...Let's just get out of here. I don't want anyone else to recognize me."
Charlotte and Lucian did not really stop for anyone at all — some people recognized Charlotte, but she just waved her hand and continued walking until they reached the outside parking lot where Charlotte left her motorbike; grabbing one of the helmets hanging from the bar-end mirrors and then handing it to Lucian.
"You don't have to worry, that's a new helmet," Charlotte said before her eyes just landed on the insulated tote bag that Lucian was carrying, "...What is that?"
"It is groceries, Ms. Hall Master," Lucian just slightly raised the tote bag, "You do not have to worry, I will not let go of it no matter how bad you ride."
"...Was that last part necessary?" Charlotte scoffed, "And no, I will have you know that I compete in—"
"Mr. Lucian…!?"
And before Charlotte could finish his words, two people suddenly approached them in the parking lot — and Charlotte recognized them.
It was Emilia and Harvey.
"Yo, bro! Emi here told me what happened, we were about to check on you at the clinic when we saw you suddenly leaving the building with this… chick… woo," Harvey looked at Charlotte from head to toe — and since she was wearing a tight leather suit, her toned figure was accentuated even further,
"...I didn't know you have game like that."
"Stop being so disrespectful," Emilia could really only step away from Harvey, "And no, I didn't tell you anything, you just suddenly approached me and started bothering me and asking for Mr. Lucian…
…we're really sorry about this. We didn't really want to bother you, we're just worried for Mr. Lucian."
"I am fine now, Ms. Emilia," Lucian nodded, "Thank you for worrying about me."
"You have a class with the two of them?" Charlotte blinked as she looked back and forth between Lucian and the two.
"That… voice…?" Harvey very slowly raised his hand and pointed at Charlotte, "...Hall Master!?"
"Please… keep your voice down," Charlotte could really only close her eyes and sighed. Harvey was able to figure out it was her just by her voice, but Lucian was completely oblivious and even thought she was a man at first.
"Wait a minute, I smell something here…" Harvey's eyes then widened as he took a step back; stretching his hands to the side as if pushing someone behind him while looking back and forth between Lucian and Charlotte,
"...The two of you are… You're lovers!"
"W—" Charlotte's cold demeanor just almost instantly disappeared as she stuttered; her face, quickly turning red,
"What are you saying!?"
