Chương 58: Chapter 58: Asgard

"Orion, rest assured."

"I'm not a talkative person," Orion replied.

Master Murphyson nodded in understanding. If it weren't for trust, Orion wouldn't have given the runes to him for free. After all, as far as he was concerned, he wasn't being paid anything. But he got the rune mark that is popular in Asgard! This was a huge profit!

"I owe you a favor."

"Orion, if you need me for anything, I'll be there for you," Master Murphyson said, his eyes firm. This assurance moved Orion deeply.

"Do not mind the details."

"Master Murphyson," Orion responded.

"I will select some high-level mystic books, including those on prehistoric civilization, the nine realms, runes, ancient gods… and other related mysterious knowledge."

"The more, the merrier," Orion smiled.

"Please come with me," Master Murphyson said, leading Orion to a bookshelf.

The mystic books of different styles exuded a mysterious luster. They were almost all-encompassing, involving all kinds of esoteric knowledge, and seemed to emanate a sense of the passage of time. Almost all of them came from the prehistoric mythological era!

"Orion."

"You take your time and choose."

"Before you leave, don't forget to let me know. I need to record the borrowing status of the books," Master Murphyson reminded. He was concerned that Orion might return directly to the New York Temple with the Book of Secrets. It was neither against the rules nor common sense, but still, he wanted to be cautious.

"OK," Orion replied.

"Master Murphyson," he said as he nodded slightly.

Orion then turned his attention to the bookshelf, examining the Books of Secrets that were filled with light. Anticipation flashed in his eyes.

He casually opened one of the books.

"Tales from Asgard."

This book detailed the history of Asgard, including the king of the gods before Odin, as well as the existence of dark elves and the ether, accompanied by vivid illustrations.

Orion was thoughtful. According to the development of the story…

Hammer God Thor will soon be exiled by Odin, right? And Loki, the self-proclaimed first sorcerer of the Nine Realms… is probably going to cause trouble too!

"Asgard, it seems, not only has rune magic but also ancient witchcraft."

"Queen Frigga is the best among witches."

"But… Asgard seems to be forbidden for mortals to set foot there."

"Then how should I understand the mystery of the rune mark?" Orion wondered. His eyes flashed with realization. Previously, he had caused a major turning point in Asgard's destiny, but it had never been reflected.

Does this mean he needs to go there in person? Who could take him in and out of Asgard?

The answer was clear!

"Ancient One!"

"Surely the Venerable Ancient One can help with this little favor, right?" Orion thought as he selected a few Books of Secrets and called Master Murphyson. After registering them, he hurried to the main hall of

Kamar-Taj.

"Orion," Master Murphyson called.

"Don't forget to return them promptly," he added, with a look of helplessness on his face.

However, after the [Copper Skin and Iron Bone] entry solidified, Master Murphyson felt an itchy sensation all over his body, and his skin took on a faint texture resembling animal leather. Even his nails had a metallic sheen.

This puzzled him. If Orion noticed the changes in Master Murphyson, he would likely be secretly grateful.

The entries dropped by the spirit monster after death can indeed affect the host! There may even be irreversible genetic mutations.

The entry "Copper Skin and Iron Bone" caused Master Murphyson's skin and bones to evolve accordingly.

Fortunately, it wasn't a major issue. As an entry supplier, he did not provide after-sales service!

Kamar-Taj,

Inside the main hall, the Ancient One was seated on a futon, burning incense and drinking tea. Baron Mordo stood nearby, his eyes filled with complex and heavy emotions.

He had already learned that the Ancient One took Orion to X-Academy and rewarded him with a rune stone! Mordo had been a disciple for several years and had taught countless trainee sorcerers, but he had not received the same attention and favor from the Ancient One.

How could this make him feel any better?

"Mordo."

"You seem to be dissatisfied?" the Ancient One inquired, glancing at him slightly.

"No, Your Majesty," Mordo replied. He was about to speak but stopped, his eyebrows furrowing and his eyes narrowing. He didn't dare reveal his ambition.

"Huh?"

"Orion?" the Ancient One asked. "Have you cracked the rune stones? Or have you encountered a difficult problem?"

Her eyes lit up as she saw Orion appear in the hall. A smile immediately graced her lips, and her joy was palpable. Every teacher favors their top students, and there was no doubt that Orion was the 'top student' of Kamar-Taj!

Even without Stephen Strange, Orion could still shoulder the mission and responsibility and lead Kamar-Taj to greatness!

"Senior Brother Mordo."

"Haven't seen you for a long time," Orion said, bowing and greeting Mordo before turning his attention back to the Ancient One.

"Ancient One."

"I read 'A Brief History of the Nine Realms' and 'Curious Stories of the Immortal Palace'. I am filled with curiosity and thirst for knowledge about the legendary divine realm."

"Excuse me… Can I visit the World Tree?"

"Maybe this will help me delve into rune magic!" Orion's eyes shone with anticipation and eagerness.

Though he could use the sling ring to reach Asgard directly, he might be regarded as an intruder and could die under the spear of the King of Gods. If he had the Ancient One's backing, the problem would be much simpler!

"…Visit the World Tree?" The Ancient One's expression shifted. "Orion, how dare you speak."

"Do you know what the World Tree means?" She could hardly contain her exasperation.

The World Tree was the fulcrum of the Nine Realms. Its existence had caused the Nine Realms to evolve, and if it were destroyed, the Nine Realms would fall apart.

Odin had locked the World Tree into the Celestial Palace to protect it, making it inaccessible to ordinary people. Even the Ancient One had never seen it with her own eyes.

Facing this King of the Gods, a member of the prehistoric Avengers, she needed to be cautious. One could imagine that bringing Orion before Odin and making such an excessive request would inevitably provoke Odin's wrath!

There would be no need for Odin to take action personally. As long as the Rainbow Bridge was adjusted to attack mode and aimed at Kamar-Taj, it would be wiped out in less than a quarter of an hour!

The Rainbow Bridge was not only a space transmission platform but also a weapon of mass destruction, its energy and power far exceeding those of the sling ring.

Under Odin's leadership, the sages of Asgard had developed runes and technology to an unprecedented extreme. Even in the Galactic Parliament formed by the major forces in the universe, Odin had a place! If there were no accidents, the Celestial Palace would continue to be glorious and remain standing!

"Ahem."

"Venerable Ancient One," Orion said, raising the rune stone. "How will you know if you don't try? After all, I am holding the rune stone. If I don't look at the monk's face but at the Buddha's face, there will always be some hope."

The rune stone was as gray as ever, with faint carving marks on its surface. As the magic power surged, mysterious rays of light flashed through it, symbolizing the friendship between Odin and Agamotto.

Agamotto had also given the Agamotto Ball he had refined to Odin in return. This not only witnessed their friendship but also represented an invisible commitment.

"What you said makes sense," the Ancient One admitted.

"Remember," she added, "Don't anger Odin. Asgardians are far less civilized than you think. This is a fighting nation that is barbaric, advocates violence, and likes to solve problems with fists."

The Ancient One stood up, and a portal slowly opened. Through it, the beautiful fairyland could be seen—a magical city where technology and antiquity coexisted, glowing with dazzling light under the sunlight.

This was the legendary divine realm—Asgard!

For the Asgardians, they were in a prosperous age, with status, glory, prestige, merit, and wealth all at their disposal.
