Chapter 189: Revenge Chest and Dragon Breath
_____
"He... he killed the Celestial Dragon!"
Hancock was in shock.
This was utterly unthinkable! Even though they lived secluded in Amazon Lily, she knew the reputation of the Celestial Dragons. They were beings no one would dare to provoke, not even the most ruthless pirates. Yet now, right before her, a Celestial Dragon lay dead—killed by someone who hadn't hesitated at all.
Hancock's body trembled.
One of the bodyguards snapped out of his stupor, pointing a trembling finger at Aoki.
"You... you actually killed Saint Leopold!"
Aoki glanced at them and waved his arm.
Swish!
Two more bodies dropped to the ground. They were the most loyal minions of the Celestial Dragons, and for Aoki, the best outcome was to make them fuel for his advancement.
[You have killed a human and gained 3 experience points.]
[You have killed a human and gained 200 experience points.]
[You have killed a human and gained 220 experience points, along with a one-star revenge treasure chest.]
The experience points from the two bodyguards were higher than expected, but Aoki didn't pay them much mind. His attention was instantly drawn to the new system notification.
"A revenge chest? Is this an extra reward tied to the 'Spirit of Vengeance' skill? One star… so that's its quality rating? If I reach level 2 'Spirit of Vengeance,' could I get a two-star chest? Hmm… probably not that simple. It likely depends on the strength of the enemies."
Aoki was just about to inspect the revenge chest when—
Bang!
The door burst open, and three guards entered.
"Saint Leopold, we heard—"
They froze, staring in horror at the headless body in a spacesuit on the floor. Their minds went blank as realization struck.
Saint Leopold was dead. Murdered. Here, in Mary Geoise, within his own palace!
The lead guard reacted quickly, reaching for the alarm. But a shadow suddenly loomed behind him.
Swish!
A sharp black blade sliced through the air, and the three guards collapsed without a struggle. Aoki caught the alarm as it fell.
[You have killed a human and gained 190 experience points.]
[Congratulations, you've leveled up!]
[You have killed a human and gained 230 experience points, along with a one-star revenge treasure chest.]
[You have killed a human and gained 570 experience points.]
[Congratulations, you've leveled up!]
[All attributes +5!]
Boom!
An immense surge of power radiated from Aoki's body, his strength skyrocketing. He was momentarily stunned.
What's happening? All attributes +5? How?
As he checked his system interface, his gaze landed on the skill bar, and he finally understood. The previous "Ultimate Form (100/100)" had now changed to "Ultimate Form II (100/100)."
It required no learning, no skill points—the "Ultimate Form" had automatically upgraded!
"No wonder it only said that an upgrade wasn't possible before, without specifying requirements."
Aoki realized that the "Ultimate Form" didn't need to be actively learned; it would evolve naturally as he leveled up. Not only that, but each upgrade would bring substantial attribute boosts.
This was an unexpected but welcome surprise.
But still—
Aoki clenched his fists.
His attributes seemed to have improved a bit too much. His average attribute score had been just 38 points; now, it was a staggering 49, with 8 free points left unassigned. Excluding the travel time, his attributes had increased by 42 points in mere minutes, boosting each of his four main stats by 13 points—over a third of his previous total.
Even with "Infinite Dragon Beast's" excellent power control and his extensive combat experience and skills, adapting to this sudden growth would take some time.
This problem was clearly impossible to solve in such a short time, so Aoki shifted his focus to something else.
"I wonder what changes will occur with Level 2 'Ultimate Form'?"
Just then, two enormous figures descended from the sky, exuding a formidable aura.
"They came so quickly!"
Aoki's heart skipped a beat.
With his current strength, he was far from weak in the pirate world. But this was Mary Geoise—the Celestial Dragons' stronghold! Below him lay Naval Headquarters, home to admirals and marshals. Within Mary Geoise were powerful figures like Imu, the Five Elders, and the Knights of God.
The Celestial Dragons also wielded a mysterious weapon believed to be that of the Celestial King.
There was no doubt—Mary Geoise was the most dangerous place in the entire pirate world! And now, after killing a Celestial Dragon, he'd committed an unforgivable crime.
Even with multiple ways to ensure his survival, he couldn't afford to be careless. Aoki quickly allocated his remaining 8 attribute points evenly across all four attributes. Although this would further destabilize his control over his power, the benefits outweighed the drawbacks.
Then there were the skill points.
After learning "Spirit of Vengeance" last time, he still had 3 free skill points. With the 2 more he'd just earned, he now had a total of 5.
Aoki hesitated for just a fraction of a second before deciding.
"Learn 'Dragon Breath'!"
Right now, he needed raw power.
Although he'd spend all 5 skill points, he could earn more later. Mary Geoise was indeed dangerous, but that meant it was also full of elite opponents.
The five skill points vanished, and Aoki felt an unusual sensation as he silently experienced his newfound ability.
Click.
Two figures landed before him, each clad in white suits and masked.
Aoki, at nearly 1.9 meters tall, was considered quite large, and in his dragon form, he stood at three meters. But even in this form, he felt dwarfed by these two, who stood over three and a half meters tall—like living walls.
"Is this the CP0 uniform?"
Aoki sighed inwardly. He hadn't planned to reveal his identity so soon, going so far as to ensure the bodyguards and guards made no noise.
Unfortunately, plans often go awry.
The sudden upgrade of "Ultimate Form" had boosted his attributes by 20 points, and his aura surged as a result. In his previous world, this would have gone unnoticed, but in the world of pirates, there was something called Observation Haki.
"Who are you?"
One of the CP0 agents, wearing a chrysanthemum mask, spoke in a hoarse voice. "Where is Saint Leopold?"
"A saint, is he? Look for yourself."
Aoki stepped aside, exposing the scene within the palace.
Though their expressions were hidden, the two CP0 agents' movements visibly halted, and their breathing grew ragged.
It was clear the scene was as shocking to them as it had been to Hancock.
Aoki opened his mouth, and a red light formed in front of it, quickly growing into an energy sphere slightly larger than his fist, emitting a terrifying energy pulse.
The two CP0 agents snapped out of their shock, both thinking the same thing: "Not good."
But it was too late.
A crimson energy ball shot forth, landing beside them.
Boom!
A massive fireball erupted, engulfing them both. Dazzling light shot up into the sky, while flames blazed outward.
All of Marijoa was painted in red light.
