Chương 10: Building his own house

Rising from the ground Sethe made his way into the stream.

Although it was already night, the moon in this world was bright enough that Sethe felt like he could still see the fish in the river even at night.

After casually catching a few small fish to pad his stomach, Sethe returned to the hole in the ground under the roots of the tree.

This tree hole would have to be lived in for a while longer, the tree hole was only dug out for internal living space, and Sethe wasn't going to live in it until a good door was established.

And getting down in the dark tree hole, looking at the four one-meter-long golden threads floating in the air in front of him, his heart couldn't restrain a great satisfaction from rising.

 [Evolution Left Claw]

Like last time, with Sethe's will the three golden silk threads extended and disappeared into the left claw.

A great sense of drowsiness hit Sethe, and with this drowsiness, Sethe slowly closed his eyes.

 [Rustle~]

A round, red lizard slowly poured out from under the soil where the tree roots were intertwined.

Crawling out of the ground once again.

Sethe went straight to the small stream, after eating a dozen or so small fish Sethe looked up at the sky, it was already noon.

It seemed like time would have to be sped up.

The goal of the day was already set in his mind, to collect some small tree trunks to make the tree house door ready.

It wasn't difficult to collect small trunks, after all, it was a forest and the last thing that was lacking was some bushes and small trees.

Even on the river bank, Sethe saw quite a few.

 [clatter~]

Walking up the bank, Sethe walked into the forest.

After wandering through the forest for a while, Sethe stopped.

In front of him at the moment was a small bush.

This small bush was formed by some wrist-thick small trees, but what attracted Sethe was not these proper small trees, but a crisscrossing vine growing on them.

Maybe I can make up a fish trap so I don't have to spend time hunting later.

The creek was rich in fish, and without incident, Sethe felt like he would have to spend a long time eating small fish and shrimp from the creek.

So it was worthwhile to make a fish trap.

Setting the idea in his mind, Sethe began to collect the canes.

These vines were very thick, as thick as a child's finger, so it could be said that they were very suitable for making a fish trap.

Now that both claws had evolved, the work was relatively faster.

Soon, two large rolls of rattan were collected, Sethe began to use his claws to cut down some small trees and then removed the branches leaving only the trunks, gathered into a bundle, and then tied with rattan.

Looking at the bundle of tree trunks on the ground, Sethe wagged his fat tail and walked forward, stretching out his left paw and dragging the rattan that was bundling this bundle of small tree trunks and started to return towards the tree hole.

After twenty minutes, Sethe returned home.

Just after arriving home, Sethe lay down on a bundle of small tree trunks.

Her little pink tongue came out of her mouth and she panted heavily.

In terms of physical strength, she was still a bit lacking.

It seems like she needs to strengthen her physical strength.

 [Gu Gu~]

At that moment, her stomach suddenly protested.

Hearing the stomach growl, Sethe rolled over and lay belly up on a bundle of small tree trunks.

His left paw rested on his deflated belly and rubbed it.

He seemed to be getting hungry more and more easily.

After resting for a while longer and feeling reprieved, Sethe got up and walked into the stream.

After catching a few fish to fill her stomach, Sethe was just about to start the day's work when she suddenly felt a slight pain in her stomach.

The next second Sethe ran back into the stream with both paws in a puff of smoke.

After settling down for a bit of a gobble round he proceeded to climb up the bank.

 Hmmm, smooth ow.

Feeling refreshed Sethe walked over to the pile of raw materials he had brought back with him.

 Doors or catch traps first?

After moving his eyes back and forth between the small pile of tree trunks and the two rolls of canes a few times, he finally settled on the two rolls of canes.

Let's do the catch trap first.

Because making the catch traps first can be used directly, and if you're lucky you won't have to hunt at night.

As for the door, no harm done, just stay up later and add a shift.

Want to do it, pick up two rolls of rattan, and sit down with his back against a bundle of tree trunks, Sethe began to weave.

He had watched some wilderness survival programs prepare triangular fish traps, simple enough to be called having hands.

Although he had no hands, he had a pair of nimble little claws.

 So confident!

Ah? How did it go wrong again?

Ahhhh, crap, the catch entrance was left wide open.

 Sethe: (〃 > Petri dish <).

After tossing and turning like this until the afternoon, a simple but functional triangular fish trap was finally woven.

Looking at the triangular catch trap he wove, Sethe was a bit short of breath.

Does it seem a bit distorted?

 But it should work.

Never mind, let's give it a try, it's already made.

He casually picked some wild fruits on the bank and put them into the triangular catch trap as bait, put the catch trap into the stream, and fixed the two sides with stones to avoid being washed away by the stream.

After doing all this, Sethe returned to the bank and started to make the wooden door.

 It was finally finished.

Sethe stood up and realized that the time had come tonight.

The black night sky was starry, and a large full moon hung high in the center of the stars.

 "Coo!"

Stretching his paw, he touched his stomach.

Got it got it got it got it, I'll eat big once I get the door set up.

Thinking that, Sethe glanced at the catch trap placed in the stream.

I don't know if the fish caught in the catch trap that I wove myself.

Well, probably, should, might hit one, right?

As long as he could hit one, he wouldn't be a loser.

Dragging the well-made wooden door to the big tree.

Looking at the roots of the tree, Sethe stopped in his tracks, the roots connecting to the doorway of the tree hole were a bit steep, if it was just him climbing up by himself it would be simple, but it would be a bit difficult to drag a heavy wooden door.

It wouldn't be hard to beat him, though.

Turning back, he walked over to the pile of wood shavings that had braided the wooden door.

Sweeping his claws through the wood shavings, he revealed the vines buried inside.

These vines were left over from the fish trap that had just been braided, and now it was just the right time to continue putting them to good use.

Returning to the tree with the vines, he tied them to the wooden door in three separate pieces, then attached all three to one.

Opening his mouth to hold the rope, Sethe directly ran down the roots of the tree to the hole in the tree in a puff of smoke.

 Then began to pull.

With a little pulling, the wooden door began to rise a little.

It was very smooth, pulling the tree door up in one go.

After pulling out a hole in the upper end of the tree hole to put the wooden door on, he tried to push it back and forth.

 "Squeak~"

Hearing the wooden door squeak, Sethe felt satisfied.

There was a door and his own home.

 Sethe: o( ̄︶ ̄)o

 "Gu Gu~"

Just as Sethe was having a good time the stomach protested once again.

The claws pushing the wooden door stopped.

Landing on all four paws, Sethe followed the roots of the tree straight down.

Eyes glancing at the stream in front of his home.

Let's hope the catch traps in the river give out a bit so he doesn't have to catch any fish himself.

Sethe prayed in his mind as his claws went down and walked to the catch trap.
