When she finally arrived, the scene was nothing short of dramatic. Despite the layers of barriers Mobius had carefully put down to contain the damage, they couldn't prevent the destruction of yet another building as she made her entrance.
Mobius clenched her jaw, her eyes narrowing at the rubble. "Did she decide to wreak havoc again?"
Kevin scratched the back of his head, laughing awkwardly.
Mei looked at the massive chunk Jyahnar had brought back, her eyes widening. "Are you sure this is just a piece?" She could hardly believe it—it was as large as a small building itself.
Kevin laughed dryly, his voice carrying a hint of disbelief even as he spoke. "Yeah, that's just a piece. Her true form is about 4,000 kilometers long… about the same size as Australia."
Mei, Mobius, and everyone else in the lab dropped their jaws, stunned into silence. The sheer scale of Jyahnar's original form was incomprehensible.
Jyahnar, looking pleased with herself, stepped closer to Kevin, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. "I brought what you asked for. So, what reward will you give me?" She said but Kevin could sense that she had likely been influenced by some show she had watched, one that depicted these kinds of exchanges.
Kevin tilted his head, amused by her demeanor. "Alright, anything you want… but nothing too extravagant."
"Yes!" Jyahnar exclaimed, her happiness evident in her tone. Kevin couldn't help but smile at her enthusiasm.
"But," he continued, "you'll have to wait a bit. We're busy right now, but you're welcome to watch what we're doing."
As the team got to work, Bronya, Mobius, and Mei began the meticulous task of tooling the samples and running various tests. The results that began to emerge were nothing short of shocking.
"This body piece's toughness alone surpasses diamond," Mobius muttered, her eyes widening as she reviewed the data. "And the Honkai energy within it… it's so concentrated that it's destroying the very cellular structure of the samples I'm using."
Bronya, who was thoroughly scanning the essence, looked up from her work, her face pale with disbelief. "This essence is more than ten times as potent as a Viprolopa-class essence. It's astonishing." She then glanced at Jyahnar with a rare expression of genuine bafflement, an expression so rare that Kevin made a mental note to remember it.
"Kevin-ni Sama," Bronya continued, her tone serious, "is compatible with this essence, but for some reason, it rejects Elysia. There's no one else compatible with it."
Kevin absorbed the information, his mind racing with the implications. Jyahnar, who had been watching the proceedings with a curious eye, finally spoke up. "So, what are you going to do with this?"
Kevin turned to her, his expression softening. "I'm going to implant your genes into my body so I can acquire some of your characteristics. But if you have any objections, feel free to say so—we are using your body after all."
Jyahnar shook her head, a soft smile gracing her lips. "Oh, don't worry about that. Kiana is more important to me than anything. If this helps you in any way, then I'm all for it."
Kevin felt a warmth spread through his chest at her words. Without thinking, he wrapped his arms around Jyahnar, pulling her into a gentle embrace. "It's Kevin now," he murmured softly. "And… thank you. I don't know if I'm deserving of your care."
He remembered that the real Kiana which she love is different.
Jyahnar's heart skipped a beat, her face flushing slightly as Kevin's warmth enveloped her. "Yes… You're Kevin now." Her voice was almost a whisper, the proximity and his gesture making her heart race. When Kevin pressed a kiss to her cheek, she felt a fluttering sensation in her chest, a sensation she desperately wanted to understand.
Mei, who had been watching the exchange, decided to step in. "Cana, how would you feel about undergoing a MANTIS operation yourself? Your strength would be a tremendous asset in our fight against the Final Herrscher."
Jyahnar glanced at Kevin for a moment, and he gave her a reassuring nod. With a determined look, she turned back to Mobius. " Anything to help Kevin."
Mobius nodded, approving the decision. "Then let's get started."
Kevin was the first to undergo the procedure. He was submerged in the tank, the light blue essence injected into his body. The intensity of the essence was evident as his nerves began to glow with a deep blue hue, his eyes darkening from their usual blue to an almost midnight shade.
The power coursing through him was immense, but with his control over the power of reason and Vishnu genes, he managed to assimilate the genes without any drastic changes to his physical appearance.
