Chương 14: Robin hoods
Ten minutes later, a lone SUV drove slowly along the dark road under the night sky.
Behind the wheel, Pietro, in a T-shirt that accentuated his muscular frame, rested one hand on the steering wheel while the other propped his cheek against the window frame. He hummed softly to an unfamiliar tune, the light rain outside lending an air of peace.
Suddenly, two sharp cracks echoed from behind.
Pietro smiled knowingly and glanced at the rear view mirror, catching sight of two figures enveloped in bursting shock waves through air, sprinting through the light rain at speeds beyond ordinary human capability.
Before the figures came fully into view, they had already caught up with the SUV.

The doors opened and closed swiftly, and soon Wanda and Sergey settled comfortably inside. Pietro showed no surprise at their extraordinary abilities, beyond the understanding of most people. He turned to his sister, Wanda, now in the co-pilot seat, removing her hood.
"Already done? That was quick," he remarked.
"Well, without any mutants in the group, did you expect us to take our time with ordinary soldiers?" Wanda replied, reclining in her seat with her slender legs resting on the dashboard.
She had dedicated two years to mastering the Water Breathing technique before awakening her Chaos magic and probability manipulation abilities, enhancing her combat prowess exponentially and also intensifying her training. Together with Sergey's formidable skills, they could easily eliminate ordinary soldiers swiftly and efficiently.
"Sergey alone could have handled those gangsters," she added casually.
With Noah's help, Sergey honed his Stone Breathing technique, perfectly suited to his huge body, which became even more potent after awakening his mutant abilities. After rigorous training, he's now ranked fourth in their group for combat prowess.
His normal speed approached nearly 200 meters per second and is still increasing with time. With such formidable speed and strength, Sergey alone could easily breach the HYDRA base where they had been held captive two years ago. However, due to the base's self-destruct system, only Pietro and Wanda could safely escape before detonation, So Noah prohibited all of them from participating in the assault on the HYDRA bases.
"Hurry up, Pietro, you're driving slower than a snail," Sergey complained from the rear driver's seat, setting aside his Kusarigama. Since he had spent considerable energy in the fight, he slowly feeling hungry.
"If you're in such a rush, why not run there?" he added, stepping on the accelerator. The SUV surged forward, racing through the dark night.
In less than an hour, they reached a small forest across the road in the Ural Mountains and halted. After closing the car doors, Sergey, Pietro, and Wanda each shouldered two large metal boxes, moving at a speed imperceptible to ordinary eyes as they headed swiftly into the Ural Mountains to their homes.
Ten minutes later, the three of them arrived back at their home built in the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the Ural Mountains. As they approached the wooden cabin, it was clear that many things had changed since they started living here two years ago.
The cabin, once simple, had undergone many renovations and expansions. Now it covers more than 400 square meters across two floors, it exuded a mix of rustic charm and modern comfort. The second floor housed spacious bedrooms, while in the lower floor there is the comfy living room, a well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom. Adjacent to the main house, there was a newly built warehouse to store their supplies.
Before they even stepped inside, the familiar sounds of laughter and conversation floated out from the house. With a shared smile,the trio climbed the few steps to the open door and entered their sanctuary.
Inside, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. A long carpet spread-ed from the entrance straight into the expansive living room, which was decorated with light bulbs in the walls and a crystal chandelier in the ceiling. The decoration was their combined creation, simple yet tasteful, creating a homely environment that felt both retro and modern.
In the middle of the living room, a towering stone fireplace extended to the roof, its warmth and visual appeal drawing attention. Adjacent to the fireplace, a large round dining table was there, surrounded by classy chairs, perfect space for gatherings and meals. The nearby kitchen got different types of modern appliances, blending functionality with aesthetic appeal.
On one side of the living room, there was a large LCD TV and several plush sofas, favourite place for relaxation and entertainment. It was here that more than a dozen children, ranging in age and appearance were sitting watching a television program. Their voices filled the air with different discussions and laughter, creating a lively atmosphere.
When the trio entered the room, the children's attention immediately turned towards them. The youngest among them, two girls, around ten years old, were curled up on one of the sofas, spun around with eyes filled with excitement upon seeing Wanda, Sergey, and Pietro.
"Sister Wanda, Sergey, Pietro! You're back!" exclaimed one of the girls, Alina, her face lighting up with joy.
"Hey, Alina, Polina, come here. I brought you some snacks," Wanda replied affectionately, placing down the two large metal boxes she had been carrying. She exchanged her outdoor shoes for comfortable slippers and pulled out two bags of chocolate treats from her pocket, shaking them playfully.
The sight of the snacks brought forward immediate excitement from the girls, who were about to leap from the sofa when Noah's voice interrupted them gently.
"Alina, Polina, remember you had ice cream earlier today. You can't have chocolate now, okay? You don't want a repeat of last year's tooth decay," Noah reminded them with a soft but stern voice, his words making the two girls to glance sheepishly in his direction.
Wanda's face brightened with joy when she saw Noah walking out of the kitchen. He was wearing a black and white shirt with checkered stripes and carrying a heavy iron pan. Despite the heat, Noah headed straight for the large round table, which was already covered with plenty of food.
After stowing the pan, Noah glanced at Wanda and Sergey, noticing a hint of exhaustion on their faces. He smiled warmly and explained, "I heard noise coming from down the mountain, so I went ahead and started serving dinner."
After clapping his hands to gather everyone's attention, Noah warmly welcomed everyone to dinner.
In the living room, the entire family cheered and rose from the sofa. They shared laughter as they made their way to the bathroom together, then gathered in the kitchen to wash their hands. Afterward, they collected their tableware and began setting it out on the large round table.
Wanda and other two also joined in seamlessly.
The large plates were lifted one by one, unveiling a variety of fragrant dishes.
"Wow!"
Sergey's face instantly lit up with hunger and anticipation.
Noah smiled and started eating, and only then did the rest of the children begin their meal. It had become a longstanding habit, ingrained over time. Even if Noah told them not to wait for him, they still did, out of respect and familiarity with their routine.
Two years had passed, and the original group of youngsters had grown significantly. Even the two ten-year-old girls now had appetites two to three times larger than most adults. The dinner spread before them had many dishes like prime rib roast, seafood paella, grilled lobster tails, slow-cooked lamb shanks and so on.
Without two years of raiding neighboring gangs and HYDRA bases, supporting this large family would have been incredibly challenging.
