Chương 6: The Big Five

'That girl looks familiar...' thought Levi as he headed to his living room.

A girl named Momo Ryuju whom he just met is a character that appeared in the series. She is the president of the Astronomy Club and one of The Impossible Girls, although this will be in the future.

Levi couldn't remember from where and guessed that she had appeared in the manga before.

When he got to the door of classroom 1-A he noticed that the teacher had already started class, 'Damn... this is going to be awkward,' Levi thought as he opened the door.

Again every head in the room turned to look at him. Even the teacher stopped talking and looked at him with a slight frown.

'Late again?' thought Kaguya, unable to believe the behavior of the top student.

All the students in 1-A thought the same as Kaguya. Being late twice on the same day, in a school as elite as this one, was frowned upon.

"Why is the best student of the 1st year late?" the teacher asked in a questioning tone.

"I'm sorry teacher. I got lost back," said Levi, using the same excuse as before. He wanted to hide from under the ground, but he had no choice but to use the same excuse and see if he managed to save himself.

'The same excuse!?' thought Kaguya, indignantly, as she tightly clenched the pen she held in one of her delicate hands.

"It's okay. It's a normal thing it's too big this school. Go sit down," said the teacher in a kind tone.

'Did it work...? Looks like being the best student is good for something,' Levi thought as he thanked the teacher and went to sit in his place.

Levi, though he didn't know it, had gained quite a reputation in academics, being a child genius by taking first place in many exams and contests. He only did it to be rewarded by his parents with money, but he had many more advantages.

The minutes passed slowly. However, Levi paid attention to the class. He didn't want the teacher to find him half asleep when she had already forgiven him for being late.

This teacher was in charge of teaching mathematics. Levi never liked mathematics, yet he was the best in 1st year in all subjects.

This was for one simple reason, to his reincarnated mind the subjects were very easy. Although he spent some time on them to get good grades, they were not that complex either.

For example, now the teacher was teaching basic Algebra something quite simple to his mind.

"Levi come on in and solve this exercise," said the teacher as she finished writing a math problem on the board.

Hearing his name, Levi stood up with a lazy expression and picked up the marker. This school gave up chalkboards a long time ago.

Levi took a look at the problem and quickly started writing. In two minutes or less, he had finished it.

"Ready," said Levi, passing the marker to the teacher.

The teacher was surprised at Levi's solving speed and glanced at the board.

"Perfect. Go sit down," said the teacher in a kind tone, as she started explaining the problem-solving step by step.

'That's good...' thought Kaguya as she looked at Levi.

The class ended, and finally, Levi was able to go home. Or so he thought, until he got a message on his father's cell phone, reminding him that he had to go to the gym after school.

'I had forgotten...' thought Levi, reading the message.

His father's gym was close to his house, so he had to take the same train.

To his bad luck, the train was crowded, and he had to squeeze in the whole trip until he could finally get out and breathe clean air.

"I hate public transportation..." whispered Levi.

After about 10 minutes of walking, he arrived in front of his father's gym. Who upon entering greeted him with much excitement, asking him about his first day of school.

Levi spent an hour and a half of suffering in the gym. The worst part is that his father supervised him and took the job of a kind of personal trainer.

This made him have to do every exercise with the best possible technique and have timed breaks. Also, every time he was about to finish his reps he would yell "Go to failure!" or "Come on another one!" something Levi didn't understand at all.

'Luckily, we're driving home,' Levi thought to himself as he left the gym all sweaty and sore muscles.

Arriving home, his mother also bombarded him with questions. When he was able to get away from her, he went to take a shower to get all the sweaty smell off.

He entered his room, and the first thing he did was turn on his computer. On his desk beside the PC, you could see many sheets of paper scattered with drawings or sketches. Also drawing pencils and other things that helped him to draw.

When the PC was turned on, he directly opened the browser of this world and typed, [Manga Master].

In this world, there is neither Shonen Jump nor any of the most famous magazines of his past life.

Since he got access to the internet, which was two years ago, his parents were very strict about it. He was able to learn that in this world 5 major manga magazines are considered the most famous and prestigious.

The most famous of them all is Manga Master. It is the oldest and most respected manga magazine of all in the world. It is known for its rich history of discovering and promoting the most talented mangakas. Unlike the other 4, it covers a wide variety of genres.

Secondly, there is Shinseki Manga. This magazine is famous for its focus on seinen manga, i.e. it attracts a more adult audience.

In third place, there is Manga Splash. It is a very popular Shonen manga magazine.

Fourth, there is Shojo Elegance. It is the main Shojo manga magazine in this world.

And in last place is Fantasy World. This magazine specializes in the fantasy and science fiction genres.

These five magazines are the most famous in the manga industry in this world. Except for Manga Master, they all have their niche and audience.

Levi had already decided that his manga should be published in Manga Master. It had the first place for a reason. Every story that was published in this magazine became a massive hit and defined trends in the industry.

Levi went to the Manga Master website. Upon entering the website he was greeted by a vibrant and colorful illustration of a main character named 'Blade' who belonged to the manga of the moment. He even saw news that an anime of this manga was already in the works. Demonstrating its resounding success in a very short time.

The page is designed in a simple way to navigate. In the center of the home, there is a featured cover showing the latest issue of the magazine, along with a brief description and a link to read it online.

Manga Master had a policy of accessing the chapters of a manga much like the Shonen Jump chapters of their world.

Simple. Manga Master offers free online access to the most recent chapters of its popular manga for a limited period, such as a week or two after publication in the magazine's print edition. Readers can visit Manga Master's website and read the chapters for free for some time.

It then offers a premium subscription. This allows subscribers to access an extensive library of full manga and additional chapters digitally. This premium subscription requires a monthly payment and offers exclusive benefits, such as early access to chapters and exclusive content. This way you can watch the chapters as many times as you want, with no time limit.

Finally, if the manga completes a story arc, the individual chapters are compiled into volumes, generally known as tankobon that readers can purchase in stores and online as physical and digital copies.

"Tankobon" are manga compilation volumes that compile several individual chapters of a manga serialized in a magazine into a single book.

To achieve this your manga must first be accepted. Then published on the website, if its reception is very good, it can be published in the Manga Master magazine. Finally, when you have enough chapters you will have your compilation volume.

The other 4 major manga magazines have a very similar operation, with few differences.

Levi while browsing Manga Master's website, was directed to a specific section.

This section was called "Young Talent" and was the reason Levi decided to choose Manga Master as the magazine to publish his first manga.

In his former world in Japan, the legal age to sign a contract is usually 18 years old. In other words, it would be impossible for Levi to be hired by a manga magazine and earn money since he is 12 years old. But here's the difference, in this world it's not like that.

Manga Master to his pleasant surprise has the category "Young Talents" which is open to manga artists 14 years and older. It does this to encourage and support emerging talent at an early stage. Although it's two years away, it's not the same as waiting until 18.

'I have to get into Young Talents... but first I have to get money to buy the first volume of some manga,' Levi thought.

However, getting into the "Young Talents" category is very difficult, as there is a lot of competition. The manga world was always very competitive and dream-destroying, but this doesn't worry Levi, who has the "Manga Store" and expert drawing skills.
