The cold demeanour Asuka had been projecting instantly shattered. his instincts screaming out danger, As his gaze met the black-haired girl's eyes burning with disgust.

His heart skipped a beat, his jaw clenched as realisation struck him.

"You?" he mumbled, voice barely above a whisper as eyes widened in disbelief.

"So you do remember, you disgusting bastard," she said, visibly struggling to contain her rage.

She was the same girl that Asuka had molested in the past. Because of the Kaito family's backing, the case was suppressed, but it still caused quite an uproar since the girl's father was a lawyer.

Asuka quickly averted his eyes towards the blue crystal, without replying. He just walked away in the direction of the crystal, as he walked beads of sweat continued to flow through his brows uncontrollably. There was nothing he could do at the moment, so ignoring her and focusing on the awakening ceremony was the best course of action.

'The fuck! This girl is not normal. Even my instincts are screaming out danger. I can tell she's surely a prodigy. For her gaze to make me freeze like this, she can't be normal.' his thoughts raced in escalating panic.

'Damn you, Asuka, why did it have to be this girl? Now what about my dream of living in peace? She surely won't let me,'

As if reading his mind, the girl mumbled under her breath, glaring daggers at his retreating back, "Just you wait, bastard. Even if the Kaito's are backing you, I won't let you live in peace. That's the sole reason I'm here,"

Reaching near the crystal, Asuka noticed the Awakener standing beside it. Their face was covered with a white veil, with the symbol of an eye painted on it. denoting their exclusive order.

An Awakener is a special class that only some are born with, and they are not allowed to work for any guild. They can only work with the permission of the United Nations. This is to keep a record of all Awakeners, as without them, awakening blessings, class changes, and such are not possible.

Noticing Asuka's unusual nervousness, the Awakener issued a gentle warning, "Kid, I know you're nervous. As this is an important event that can decide your future, but still, keep focused. Normalise your heartbeat, or there can be problems with the awakening."

'I'm not nervous because of this damn awakening.' Asuka let out a cocky chuckle inside his head while keeping his outward expressions unchanged.

'I already know the outcome. Why would I be nervous? But you guys are not ready for what that monstrous girl is going to awaken.'

Drawing a steadying breath, Asuka centred himself before reaching out to press his palm against the luminous blue crystal.

Brilliant light flared, nearly blinding him as the Awakener observed with a solemn air.

After a moment, nodding a bit Awakener spoke in a ringing tone, that silenced the entire hall. "Warden Trainee Asuka Volford...highest blessing tier, A."

"What the fuck? That fatty got an A-tier blessing? I can't believe it."

"Well, even though he's a disgrace to the Volford name, he still carries the blood of one of the 12 Great Clans, No it's actually two, so it was kind of expected."

An uproar spread among the trainees and crowd alike. That fatty trash from the Volford family, who had never even considered training, was actually blessed with an A-tier blessing was hard to believe.

Only the eyes of the Sword Saint and the Guildmaster remained indifferent. Even amidst the uproar of disbelief, they remained silent.

Finally, the Guildmaster stood from his seat. Glancing at the shining crystal for a moment, he then walked a bit closer to the Awakener.

Looking down, he finally spoke with an evident frown on his face, "What's the problem? Why did you stop?"

The masked figure was startled, clearly flustered by some anomaly.

Trembling faintly, he focused intently once more upon the shining blue crystal, only for confusion to crease his features again. This...had never happened before.

The Guild Master's expression soured as impatience flashed across his features. "What's wrong? Tell me already?"

Swallowing hard, the Awakener replied in a wavering voice. "Guildmaster, the thing is, though he has awakened an A-tier blessing, his potential grade is only.... C grade. Something like that has never happened before."

"Double check your readings," the Guild Master cut him off briefly. "There must be some malfunction or error."

"I have checked multiple times, Guildmaster. The results are the same, and there is no problem with the crystal."

The Guild Master's previously playful demeanour changed entirely, his expression hardening. "Hmm, is that so..." Contempt dripped from his tone as he turned his failing gaze upon Asuka.

"What a waste. With this potential, he won't even be able to awaken his bloodline blessing, let alone amount to anything." Without wasting another word, he stuck his hand inside his pocket and simply walked off the stage.

The Sword Saint continued to watch as the Guildmaster and all the Guild's special forces retreated.

"Haha, see? I told you, that scum was just lucky to awaken an A-tier blessing. In reality, he's just a talentless bastard."

"Yeah, though blessings are an important factor, with that potential, it's just useless. Haha."

"This serves him right. Now suck up to the Kaito all your life."

Laughs and trash talk about Asuka reverberated throughout the grand hall. It was a known fact that Asuka was scum, a useless molester.

He was disgusted by all, just because he was supported by the Kaito clan; otherwise, such a molester would never have been spared in the first place.

Even among all the noise, a single familiar voice cut through clearly and unmistakably. It caught Asuka's attention, sending a jolt through his body.

"Asuka." The Sword Saint called out, his cold gazes sharp on Asuka. "Your awakening is done now. Go and wait in the hallway near the dorms. I want to talk to you about something,"

Now, he turned his attention to the other trainees lined up. "Silence!! Awakener now resumes the ceremony," he declared with a commanding voice, looking straight at the Awakener and ignoring the stares coming from the other squad captains sitting beside him.

"Ah, yes, Sword Saint."

Asuka walked slowly through the grand hallways, which stretched straight to the trainee dorms. The hallways were decorated with chandeliers, and many different paintings were hung on the walls. It was a luxurious hallway befitting one of the top 10 guilds.

Asuka was facing down, his hands in his pockets. His crimson eyes were filled with anger, a frustrated frown tugged at his lips. "Those lowlifes, what do they think of themselves? Laughing at me because of my potential. I bet half of them won't even amount to a D grade."

He paused a bit as realization hit him. "Tsk! What am I getting all worked up over? Whatever world it is, there are bound to be fuckers like those."

Sigh.....

"If I think about it, the past Asuka was really scum. He deserved it. I can't be a hypocrite and moreover, I want to live in peace for now, so the best way is to just ignore them. Most importantly, I have a problem to deal with. If I don't do something, that bitch will really kill me!"

A little girl with black hair and crimson eyes asked as she sat on her dad's lap, her eyes full of curiosity.

Seeing his daughter's eager face and his wife's sweet blush, he couldn't help but burst into a big, hearty laugh.
