~ A Few Moments Before~
Zoa brought a water bottle with her and the cell phone of the dead hitman. She handed the water bottle to Asher. His dried lips and sweaty body readily accepted the water.
Asher removed the glove from his one hand and drank the water. As his lips touched the water drops, they quenched their thirst. His body was satisfied but his heart was not satisfied.
His heart desired more. He looked at Zoa. She was holding the hand of the dead body and searching for something. Asher also searched for something in her.
But he couldn't dare to look more at her. He was afraid to lose his control over himself. 'We have met like this after twenty years. Same place, the same sky but with different feelings. You are ignoring me like me. When we met for the first time.'
Asher was recalling his precious memories. Zoa with no idea of Asher's feelings and thoughts was texting someone.
"Yes, it's done.", Zoa remarked. She got up and examined the grave. "It's perfect.", She said happily.
"Now, take a rest.", Zoa said to Asher. He stopped digging and drank water again. Zoa checked the length and depth of the pit.
To check the depth and length more precisely, Zoa lay in the grave. "Now, we are done.", She remarked.
Asher was silently drinking water. He had no idea what Zoa was doing like Zoa had no idea of his burning desires.
"Bury me now.", Zoa ordered. Asher choked the water. He was drinking. The water had entered his windpipe. He coughed and struggled to breathe.
Zoa didn't respond to him at all. She was silently laying down in the grave, waiting to be buried soon.
"Zoa, what are you doing?", Asher pleaded to her. When he was able to talk.
"Please, I can't do this. How could I?", Asher kept begging, but Zoa was determined to do this.
"Bury me here.", Zoa ordered him.
~Back To Present~
"What are you doing start buying me?", Zoa demanded again.
"Why should I? Why should I take your orders?", Asher responded furiously this time. He was murmuring something else as well. But Zoa couldn't hear.
"Hey, pick up this phone and take my pictures as well. Do this hurriedly. I'm hungry and dirty. I need to eat something good after taking a shower.", Zoa yelled at him.
"Pictures?", Asher inquired.
"Yes, to send proofs to my mother. I have texted her that I'll send you the pictures of the target's dead body.", Zoa explained to him.
Asher now understood everything. He couldn't believe that he had wasted his precious tears on this thing. 'I'm losing my mind.', He murmured as he picked up the phone from the ground.
Asher took the pictures of Zoa covered in blood and dirt buried in the grave. He also made a video of burying her as she had instructed.
Asher couldn't believe that he was listening to her like a dog. 'I was never an obedient person. Am I a submissive? Did I have a hidden machoistic?', Asher questioned his preferences.
Zoa was examining the dead body of that hitman to unlock his phone. Zoa had changed his fingerprint lock to her fingerprint. Now she held all the rights over his bank accounts and access to his apartment passcode as well.
"We, humans are so predictable.", Zoa said as she had found all the important things in the phone easily just by a single touch.
Zoa recalled that she had three security steps for her things, but everything was in vain because she was now stuck in this place with nothing in her hands.
Zoa and Asher buried the hitman's body. After successfully burying him. Zoa plucked a few flowers from nearby and placed them on his grave. She prayed for him as well.
"Why are you praying for him? He had tried to kill you.", Asher asked.
"But he was not able to kill me. So, there is no reason for me to not do this.", Zoa replied seriously.
Asher smiled as he had already expected this answer. He moved his hand closer to her face and touched a messy strand that was covering her eyes.
"You have not changed.", Asher said. Zoa didn't take an interest in him. She stood and took the bag. "I'm going. Thanks for helping me.", Zoa waved at him.
Asher was pale again. "Wait? What?", He shouted as Zoa was moving swiftly away from his eyes.
Zoa had a wooden cane in her hand. She had found it in Asher's cottage.
"Hey, stop..", Asher also followed her.
"No, need to follow me. I've noted your name and number. I've your business card as well. I'll send you your fees. Now, we are on separate ways.", Zoa declared.
"No, this can't be true. Where did you find my card?", Asher asked as he was following her.
"In your coat pocket.", Zoa replied as she was struggling to get away from him. But her body was exhausted physically and mentally.
"You are a thief?", Asher said. Zoa didn't respond.
Asher kept following her silently. Zoa stopped and turned. "Why are you following me?", She asked.
"You can get lost. You don't know about this place.", Asher replied.
"None of your business.", Zoa responded.
"I'm only trying to help you. You could get lost here. What if there are more people after your life?", Asher tried to convince her. But Zoa was tired of believing others. She didn't get betrayed by her friend or boyfriend.
The cause of her pain and misery was her mother. The same mother who had given birth to her. She wanted to be alone now. It was her war. She didn't want to involve someone else in this trivial matter. It was her family matter after all.
"None of your concern. We are nothing to each other. Stop bothering me.", Zoa said coldly.
Asher's expression changed upon hearing this. He clenched her hand and dragged her with him.
"Hey, stop this. I'm not going anywhere with you.", Zoa yelled.
"We are nothing. But we can be something. If you give me a chance.", Asher said.
Zoa struggled to free her hand but couldn't. Zoa used her other hand and took the gun. She put the gun on Asher's head and said, "Stop!"
