Seated on the stool, Atlas stared blankly at his second brother, who was sitting on the side of the bed, enduring the bruise on his cheek. The corner of Hugo's mouth still had dried blood, indicating a deep cut.
This was what Atlas had to lie about.
Atlas canceled all his appointments, and his assistant, Allen, was efficient enough to handle the workload. Persuading people was Allen's best asset. Moreover, nothing was more important than Atlas's family.
In other words, no meeting or work would make Atlas attend with this family situation at hand.
Atlas had to lie about all of that for this guy.
