~~~Azrael Jaesyrian, July 1942~~~
~~~Antarctica~~~
"My king" the small, short but substantial sentence makes me stare at Phastos for a few seconds, not quite understanding what I did, sure, I hoped everything would go well, but... Not so, well?
However, Phastos was now in front of me, with a huge change of expression, he no longer showed restrained rage, but there was calm, temperance, and fervor I would even dare to say. But what surprised me was the ease with which I was able to get that change.
Because, well, Phastos was an Eternal, a creation of the celestials, with access to cosmic energy and terrifying power, so much so, that they could go so far as to assassinate a celestial, was there anything more powerful than that right now?
But just as I thought about the power of Phastos, I also thought about the power I controlled, and at the forefront of my thoughts, were the command blocks, the only time I used it was to change the weather of Silver Port and the entire Sothoryos peninsula as a whole, but this. This was a much larger scale of power.
There was no more accurate explanation, than to say that the command blocks had done something that could only be done with very futuristic technology, because to go so far as to make Phastos unable to access his technology, which was celestial technology, and on top of that, unable to access his cosmic energy either, was not enough to say that the command blocks were scary.
"To protect what we want, we must make sacrifices, sacrifices that will follow us throughout our lives, but thanks to that, it will not affect the lives of others, welcome to my world, Mr. Jaesyrian" Ancient One spoke to me, and raising my eyes to see her, I noticed how she looked at me with regret and.... Caution, "I must go, once you organize your affairs here and set up the place that will serve as Xandar's sanctuary, let me know and I will arrive immediately to set up the protections and connect it to the other sanctuaries and Kamar Taj."
With that, Ancient One opened a portal and stepped through, with the portal closing moments later. "Phastos, I know you are still in there somewhere, and you must understand that I am doing this for my people, and in general, for the planet, but it is done, and there is no turning back, and now I need your help."
Phastos looked at me, and in a neutral, almost automated tone, asked; "What do you wish of me, Your Majesty?"
"I... sigh, how much technology do you have? I mean your memories obtained," I asked him, and it was that reason why I wanted in the first place to have him as an ally, he was responsible for most of the technological advances on Earth since time immemorial, even being limited by Ajak, and it was he who came up with the plan to kill the celestial, and with his technology this was possible, so Phastos was a gold mine for Xandar as a whole.
"I keep memory of countless breakthroughs, equipment, and advanced technology, my king, if you allow it, I can share such technology with you", eureka, that was what I was hoping for, that technology would make place Xandar as the most powerful nation on Earth, above Wakanda, Atlantis, Genosha and Attilan.
"What do you need to elevate Xandar to a technological empire that is capable of defending itself against the cosmic nations of the universe?" I asked, for out of it would be defined the future of my nation, that nation I built with blood, sweat, and death, and I would die before I would see my efforts go up in smoke.
"With the scans, I made upon entering the city, what I have seen and the academic level shown, I would say that in ten years that process can be completed, it is not only necessary to elevate technology but also to create modified and highly efficient teaching methods so that everyone can manage to maneuver the technology that will be imposed so quickly."
Yes, Phastos was being efficient, and having him on my side was showing its benefits, "very well, then let's get to work, from now on, you will be the Minister of Advancement of Xandar, you will have a whole guild at your disposal, as well as all the materials, money and freedoms you ask for, just make Xandar bigger than it already is."
"I will my king, though I must ask for something first," Phastos agreed without thinking, and that was what terrified me about the enchantment books, especially the loyalty enchantment, the level of danger someone would become by obtaining one of those books would be disastrous, deadly even, because what someone could achieve by being controlling minds as powerfully as the enchantment book did was terrifying.
"So what is it? If I can do it, you'll get it," I said, and he just made a motion with his hands, but nothing happened, "is something wrong?"
"I can't access my technology" Ahh, was that it, but at the same time I thought about what would happen if he did, what if his access to cosmic energy allowed him to break the loyalty enchantment? While something like that had never happened, even the Wither or the Warden were still under the influence of it. But caution was always necessary.
So without much thought, I closed my eyes and, connecting to the four command blocks, deactivated them, as I opened my eyes, I saw Phastos' body glow, and for a moment I feared the worst, but Phastos only moved his hands and a disk rose above his palm, from which an image was formed.
"The Dome, I need my ship, with it, building the technology needed for whatever Xandar needs will be much faster and safer," Phastos explained, showing me the image of what I assumed was the ship where the Eternals arrived on Earth.
"Alright, so come on then, do you have a way to get to the ship fast?" I said, remembering that Makkari was on the ship, and that might present some inconvenience when it came to bringing the ship to Xandar.
"Yes, I can teleport us to the location of the ship, my king," Phastos replied, and once again I thought how simple it was to be able to control him. "Very well, then let's go," I told him, but before we left, I made sure to take the four command blocks and return them to the menu.
He offered me his arm, and without hesitation, I took it, only to have the environment change moments later, as my body bristled from the sudden temperature change. We were no longer in Antarctica, that was for sure, we were now in a sandy place, very warm and with the sun shining brightly, perhaps a part of the Middle East.
"We are in Iraq, my king, or as I knew it in its time, Mesopotamia, the Dome is here," Phastos explained, controlling his tech discs, as the earth in front of the two of us shook, with a large ship coming out of the ground.
"I present to you the Dome, Your Majesty," Phastos told me with pride in his voice, as he commanded the ship to open an entrance to its interior. "Let us enter."
"Phastos," I called to him, "to the Eternal that we meet in this place, I must ask you to please incapacitate him," I said, and he stopped and looked at me, but then nodded, "I will, my king." Without further ado, we kept walking and soon we entered the ship, and I must say that I was with emotions running high, because, this was the first time I was inside an alien ship.
Everything was surreal, even exciting, the futuristic and millimetrically thought structure, the color, even the smell as if it were a new car... It was beautiful.
Soon, we entered a large circular area, full of gadgets, books, armor, and ancient objects, and I even thought I saw a crown of thorns inside a glass box. But my gaze immediately settled on a throne in the center of the room, and the person using it was a slender, dark, and beautiful woman.
"Makkari! What the hell did you do to my lab?" Phastos snapped the moment he saw the state of the place, "Is everything ready to go home yet?" She said it in sign language, to which I laughed as if only the poor thing knew.
"No, there is no home at all," Phastos answered her, Makkari was confused, and rested her gaze on me, "and who are you?"
"I am Azrael, your king," I said, smiling at her, she frowned and looked at Phastos, "he is mad, where did you get him from?" She said smiling at him, instead, I looked at Phastos and nodded. He immediately controlled his disks and they imprisoned Makkari, who didn't think they would attack her.
The disks pinned Makkari to the floor of the ship, while they absorbed her cosmic energy and prevented her from using her powers and preventing her from suffering further, I reached over and did the same thing I did with Phastos. "You won't be bored anymore, I assure you," I told her, noticing how her struggle faded, calming down.
"Take us to Xandar, I have things to do," I said to Phastos, noticing how Makkari looked at me with reverence, I just hoped this wouldn't come back to bite me in the ass.
