"What?" William was startled. How could there be another group of soldiers? Had he overlooked something?
William tapped Morse code into his headset, requesting all information on Daniel and his team from Yin-Yang. Within seconds, Sam's voice responded, "Understood, the data will be delivered to the east side men's restroom."
William excused himself from Jesse, who was still excited, and headed to the restroom. There, he received the information from Yin-Yang and began going through the photographs.
Halfway through, he saw a photo of a black man wearing glasses. Ha, this guy named Bashatar, it quickly became clear that his identity as a weapons expert was a facade. His real name was likely James Rhodes, the future War Machine. This was quite a surprise; some people in the USA were really unscrupulous, secretly robbing taxpayers.
Terry Benedict, the owner of the Beautiful People Hotel, must have quite a few enemies. So many people were targeting him, trying to leech off him. Wasn't Benedict supposed to be a ruthless guy?
"Heh, this is getting interesting," William remarked to Yin-Yang after reviewing the files. "How many people are in each group?"
Yin-Yang thought for a moment and replied, "There are four Secret Service agents and a tactical squad of six soldiers."
"It seems we need to deal with these two groups first to prevent them from interfering with our plans. Are your supplies sufficient?" William asked.
"Yeah, enough for a small-scale fight," Yin-Yang replied without hesitation. At two million dollars each, they were motivated enough.
William shook his head. "No need for a full confrontation. Since we know their positions, let's use stun grenades and tranquilizers. These people have connections; killing them all would cause big trouble."
"Understood," Yin-Yang nodded.
"Have Brian's team disguise themselves as Secret Service agents to handle the soldiers, and you guys disguise as soldiers to deal with the New York Secret Service. Make it obvious, and if things go south, don't hold back—take them out and bury them in the desert."
"Got it," Yin-Yang smiled. This kind of operation was easy for them, given the element of surprise.
After letting Yin-Yang leave, William called Old Smith to discuss whether they should pull back, as two government groups were targeting the Beautiful People Hotel. If Old Smith acted, the soldiers' superiors and the New York Secret Service might find out who was behind it.
Old Smith simply chuckled. "Don't worry, the more parties involved, the better. Someone might approach us for cooperation, and we can stay out of the mess. The payoff might be bigger than we expected. William, you overestimate the morals of some Americans. For money, some don't care if it harms their country. Don't worry about those small fries; their lives aren't worth much."
William hung up the phone, laughing inwardly at the reality of the situation. As long as his cut wasn't affected, he didn't care. However, he chose not to follow Old Smith's advice. If no one died, there was still room for negotiation; he didn't want to make an enemy of Rhodes. After all, Rhodes was a good superior and friend, and if someone killed his men, he might hold a grudge.
Returning to the boxing ring, William sat down and listened to Jesse's introductions of the two fighters. Suddenly, he heard a greeting nearby.
"Hello, Mr. Devonshire."
William turned to see Terry Benedict, the owner of the Beautiful People Hotel, accompanied by a woman with a big mouth, standing about a meter away.
Smiling, William stood up and extended his hand. "Hello, Mr. Benedict, I'm William Devonshire."
Terry Benedict quickly shook his hand, smiling crookedly. "It's an honor to have you at our hotel. If I may ask, Mr. Devonshire, may I personally attend to you?"
William chuckled internally. Benedict really was a hands-on boss, wanting to control everything himself. Working for him must be demotivating for employees, who might feel like their work was undervalued, leading to a lackadaisical attitude over time.
With a beaming smile, William shook Terry's hand, patting his shoulder a few times. "No need, Mr. Benedict, thank you for the offer. But today's a special day, and you must have a lot to attend to. Let's set up a meeting for another time to chat. I'm curious about successful people in America. For today, I won't take up any more of your time."
Benedict was delighted by William's compliment. "Thank you. Then it's settled; I'll personally visit you tomorrow."
"No problem, see you tomorrow, Mr. Benedict," William agreed, thinking to himself that Benedict should focus on surviving today's situation first.
Watching Benedict leave with the big-mouthed woman, William shook his head. He couldn't see what was so attractive about her, wondering why anyone would like her.
After Benedict left, William focused on the boxing match, listening to the reports from the church. At 9 PM, the main event between Big K and Lewis started, and the crowd became excited.
William heard the church's voice in his earpiece, "Daniel and his team are starting to move. Brian, Barney, be ready."
"Understood," came the responses.
William smiled, glancing at Benedict, who had been watching him. Benedict quickly nodded and smiled back.
However, Benedict's happiness was short-lived as a few subordinates rushed to him, whispering something in his ear. Soon, Benedict hurriedly left with the big-mouthed woman and his men. Once they were gone, William used Morse code to inform the church that Benedict had left.
"Understood, Brian, you can move."
"Roger," came the responses from Brian and Barney. Shortly after, William received confirmation of the mission's success.
"Heh."
Jesse looked at William, who was staring at the boxing ring and chuckling, puzzled by what was so amusing. The match between Big K and Lewis was lackluster, with many in the audience booing.
