Chương 133: The End of the Clash [part 1]

The Journey of Suzuki Kyōi: The Elusive Figure

Kyōi advanced with ferocity, his katana wrapped in lightning that hissed through the air like hungry serpents.

Each movement was calculated and precise, but the figure continued to dodge his attacks with unsettling speed.

The tentacles extending from the creature seemed endless, regenerating as soon as they were cut off.

It was a dance of power and endurance, with Kyōi striving to maintain his concentration despite the overwhelming presence of his adversary.

Every time the tentacles came too close, Kyōi slashed them, creating explosions of electrical energy.

The flash of lightning briefly illuminated the cavern, showing the mercenaries a Kyōi who looked like lightning incarnate, a warrior surrounded by pure energy.

But despite the power he unleashed, the dark figure continued to resist with a sinister calm.

"You cannot stop me, human," the creature hissed, as more tentacles stretched toward him.

"Your energy is impressive, but not enough."

Kyōi felt the weight of the battle, knowing he couldn't afford to slow down.

Every second lost would mean defeat, not only for him but for all his companions.

Clenching his teeth, he decided to push beyond his limits.

"If this isn't enough..." he thought, focusing all his inner strength.

His aura exploded into a wave of lightning that enveloped him entirely, creating a temporary shield against the approaching tentacles.

With a battle cry, he charged at the figure, aiming directly for the creature's heart.

This time, his strike hit the target.

The katana pierced through the figure's dark cloak, and for a moment, the entire world seemed to stop.

Lightning crackled along the blade, pouring into the creature's body.

A piercing, unnatural scream echoed through the cavern, a cry that seemed to come not only from the figure's mouth but from every corner of the mine.

The Journey of Suzuki Kyōi: The Dark Connection

Kyōi watched intently as his katana pierced the heart of the shadow-cloaked figure.

The lightning, coursing through the blade, seemed to surge through the creature's body, illuminating it from within with sinister, eerie flashes.

The piercing scream that followed reverberated throughout the cavern, like an ancient, cursed echo spreading from every corner of the mine.

For a moment, everything seemed to freeze.

As the creature writhed under the effects of the lightning, something strange happened: one of the undead, which until then had risen after every attack, collapsed to the ground for good.

Its body, previously animated by a dark force, disintegrated, turning to dust.

There was no regeneration this time, nor the usual unnatural movement of bones.

It was as if the energy that had kept it alive had been severed.

Kyōi stood still for a moment, his katana still embedded in the figure's body, carefully observing what was happening.

He had suspected there was a link between the dark creature and the undead plaguing the mine, but now he had confirmation.

A subtle yet clear connection linked the fate of that figure to the entire army of animated corpses.

"I was right to think there was a connection," Kyōi murmured, his expression thoughtful but determined.

His sharp gaze fixed on the creature, which now seemed to waver as the electric energy still crackled along the blade of his katana.

"Even though I'm still not sure what race you belong to."

Kyōi knew that in the vast universe they found themselves in, there were many races and creatures, each with their own mysteries and powers.

It wasn't uncommon for some of these races to hide or take on different forms to confuse or deceive their enemies.

In this sector of space, the variety was endless: from interdimensional demons to shadow lords, from ancient forgotten spirits to shapeshifters who could assume inhuman forms, or humanoid monkeys with ocular powers.

Discovering the true nature of that being would require more time and knowledge than he had at the moment.

"There are too many unknown races in this sector... even in the universe we know," Kyōi continued, speaking more to himself than his companions.

"It would be difficult to identify it immediately, but one thing is certain: your connection to these undead is real."

The mercenaries, who had witnessed the scene, stood frozen, in disbelief.

One of them, his gaze filled with astonishment, slowly approached one of the disintegrated undead, almost as if he feared it might rise again.

When he saw that the creature remained dead, a murmur of relief spread among the warriors.

"Boss... what's happening?" one of the mercenaries asked, still incredulous at what they had just seen.

"That undead... it's really dead this time. How is that possible?"

Kyōi turned to them, his katana still shimmering in his hand, the lightning gradually fading around the blade.

"It's that creature," he said, his voice low but clear. "It's keeping these undead alive. By taking it down, we can break the control it holds over them."

The mercenaries were stunned by this revelation.

If what Kyōi said was true, then defeating that figure would put an end to the horde of undead that had tormented them.

The Journey of Suzuki Kyōi: The Resilient Creature

The mercenaries' breaths seemed to be suspended, the air thick with tension and relief as they watched the undead disintegrate for good.

Their weapons, now stained with the black blood of the creatures, were lowered, while their eyes remained fixed on Kyōi and the dark figure.

For a moment, it seemed as if the battle was over.

But that moment of respite was brief.

The creature, which Kyōi had impaled with his lightning-clad katana, contorted again.

Despite the intense attack it had endured, it didn't seem defeated at all.

On the contrary, the dark energy surrounding it began to reform, and the tentacles that had been severed regenerated in an instant, as if it had never suffered any damage.

With a fluid, unnatural movement, the figure stood up completely, as if nothing had happened.

The dark cloak rippled slightly, and its voice echoed in the air, colder and sharper than before:

"Not bad, human," it said with unsettling calm. "But if you think this is enough to bring me down... you're gravely mistaken."

Kyōi tightened his grip on his katana, watching the creature recover with supernatural speed.

The figure had not only survived his attack but seemed even strengthened by the challenge.

There was no trace of defeat in its tone, only boundless confidence.

The warrior stood still for a moment, assessing the situation.

His mind was constantly analyzing.

He had severed the connection with at least one undead, but the creature before him remained a threat.

This wasn't just about defeating a physical opponent: a greater and more complex power was at play, a link between the creature and the dark control it exercised over those beings.

"If this is your idea of strength," the creature continued, slowly advancing toward Kyōi, "you'll need to do much more to hope to survive."

The creature's tone was icy, but behind it was a hint of respect.

It hadn't expected a human to deliver such a devastating blow.

However, it wasn't enough.

Kyōi knew time was running out.

He had to find a way to permanently stop that creature before the mercenaries were overwhelmed or the horde of undead fully regenerated.

"It can't regenerate indefinitely," he thought, carefully watching the creature's movements.

"There's a weak point. Every being, no matter how powerful, has a limit, and its limit is the final death of the undead."

"If you manage to kill them for good, we'll win!"
