Chương 132: The Mystery [part 3]

The Journey of Suzuki Kyōi: The Elusive Figure

Kyōi watched the dark figure with growing determination.

He had learned from past encounters, like his battle with Ryushin Tenkū, that no opponent was invincible.

Every creature, every being had a weakness hidden behind seemingly insurmountable abilities.

The key was to find it before the enemy discovered yours.

As the figure continued to move with lethal grace, evading his attacks with unsettling precision, Kyōi knew he couldn't waste time.

The mercenaries behind him fought furiously against the undead, but the sense of being trapped was becoming more palpable.

If he couldn't defeat this presence, they would continue fighting forever.

"I have to force it to make a mistake," he thought, gripping his katana firmly.

The figure seemed aware of his every move, anticipating each attack. Kyōi decided to change tactics: instead of chasing the creature, he would wait for the right moment to counterattack.

He assumed a defensive stance, katana ready, watching every movement of the figure intently.

Time seemed to slow as the creature floated before him, studying him in return.

The silence was broken only by the clash and sounds of the mercenaries' battle against the undead.

Blades continued to shatter bones, and the guttural cries of the creatures filled the air, but Kyōi remained undistracted.

All of his attention was focused on the enigmatic being that seemed to toy with them.

Suddenly, the figure darted forward again, moving toward him with rapid, fluid grace.

But this time, Kyōi was ready.

With instantaneous reflexes, his katana moved, intercepting the figure's attack.

The sound of metal slicing through the dark cloak filled the air, but despite the precise blow, the figure momentarily disintegrated, like mist dissolving in the wind.

Kyōi leaped back, confused and impressed by the elusive nature of the creature.

"It's not tangible... or maybe only at certain moments," he thought quickly.

There had to be a cycle, a weakness to exploit, a moment when that presence became vulnerable.

Meanwhile, the mercenaries continued to destroy the undead with increasing ferocity.

One of them, after decapitating another creature, turned toward Kyōi.

"We're not making any progress, boss! They keep getting back up, and we don't know how long we can hold out!"

Kyōi nodded, aware that time was running out.

He had to act quickly. He couldn't let his men fall one by one.

"Keep fighting!" he shouted without turning around. "We need time!"

Then, taking a deep breath, he prepared to face the dark figure once again.

"I can't let it control the pace of the battle," he thought, tightening his grip on his katana.

"I have to force it to reveal its true nature."

The battle continued, and with it, Kyōi prepared to unravel the mystery behind the creature, knowing that the fate of his group depended on his ability to discover that hidden weakness.

The Journey of Suzuki Kyōi: The Awakening of the Aura

As the chaos of the battle raged around him, Kyōi knew it was time to change his approach.

The dark figure moved like an untouchable shadow, evading every attack with unsettling ease.

The mercenaries behind him, though destroying the undead, were unable to gain any real advantage.

He had to do something drastic.

With the katana still firmly in his hands, Kyōi closed his eyes for a moment, concentrating every fiber of his being on a power he had tried to avoid using until now.

His aura, the inner force that few could master, began to awaken.

From the weapon he held, small lightning bolts started to spark, crackling in the air like impatient sparks.

The energy grew around Kyōi, enveloping him in a glow that illuminated the dark mine.

The lightning not only danced along the blade of the katana but began to surround his body, creating a halo of power that expanded in every direction.

The dark figure, calm and unperturbed until now, suddenly paused.

Its cloak billowed as if shaken by an invisible gust of wind.

A shiver ran through the creature as it stared at Kyōi with renewed interest.

Then, in a deep and distant voice, it spoke:

"So this is... the famous aura humans are known for..."

The figure's words echoed through the underground chamber, its tone carrying a mixture of surprise and subtle admiration.

It was as if it had never seen such power manifest with such intensity, or perhaps, it hadn't expected someone like Kyōi to master it so skillfully.

Kyōi didn't respond.

Every muscle in his body was tense, focused on the upcoming challenge.

The air around him vibrated, saturated with the energy released from his aura, while the lightning bolts became more intense, crackling with an almost primal ferocity.

"You can't keep hiding," he thought, his gaze piercing as he watched the creature.

With a fluid motion, Kyōi lunged forward, his katana now fully engulfed in lightning.

The Journey of Suzuki Kyōi: The Tentacled Presence

Kyōi advanced with his katana enveloped in lightning, determination etched on his face.

The lightning crackled, briefly illuminating the shadows that engulfed the mine.

The dark figure, however, wasn't intimidated.

In fact, it almost seemed amused by Kyōi's aura.

As Kyōi prepared to strike, the figure spoke again, in a dark voice, full of cold confidence:

"If you think you can bring me down with this power, you are gravely mistaken..."

The words echoed like a sinister warning, a sound that seemed to come from the depths of the earth.

Suddenly, strange and disturbing protrusions began to emerge from the figure's body.

They were a mix of dark tentacles and other indistinct forms, writhing like living creatures.

They extended from the cloak like animated shadows, vibrating in the air with quick, unnatural movements.

Some of the tentacles fused with the ground, as if trying to gain control of the surrounding space.

The scene turned into a living nightmare: the tentacles reached toward Kyōi, attempting to entangle and trap him, while others moved quickly toward the mercenaries, trying to divide and isolate them.

Kyōi, however, wasn't intimidated. As the tentacles approached, he leaped quickly, rolling to the side to avoid being caught.

The lightning surrounding his katana flared brighter, and with a precise, fierce strike, he severed one of the tentacles that came too close.

The electric energy exploded along the severed surface, causing the tentacle to retreat with a chilling hiss.

"It's not that easy to stop me," Kyōi thought, his eyes now locked on the figure, still emanating that oppressive presence.

Behind him, the mercenaries struggled to maintain their position.

Dark tentacles tried to immobilize them while the undead continued to rise, driven by that dark force that seemed endless.

However, Kyōi's power, combined with their determination, kept them from being completely overwhelmed.

The figure didn't stop.

The tentacles that had lost strength seemed to regenerate quickly, as if every part of the creature's body was connected to a deeper, darker power.

With a fluid, unnatural movement, the creature raised a hand shrouded in shadow, directing it toward Kyōi.

"Let's see how much power you can truly unleash, human," the figure said, its voice cold as ice.

Then, with a swift gesture, the tentacles moved in unison, attempting to smother Kyōi under a wave of tangible darkness.

Kyōi gritted his teeth, aware that he was facing something far beyond human.

However, he was prepared.

His katana, surrounded by electrical discharges, moved with speed and precision.

The lightning exploded in every direction, striking the tentacles and creating blinding flashes that briefly illuminated the darkness of the mine.

The tentacles recoiled, but more immediately took their place, as if the creature had an infinite reserve of dark power.

But Kyōi didn't stop.

With a battle cry, he plunged the blade of his katana again, aiming directly at the center of the figure's body.
