My favorite plant would have to be Ice peas, no particular reason I just found em very neat.

The zombie swarm led by the flag wave zombie continues their March with the destination they was told to head to. Even as it rained heavily upon them the zombies continued their walk, the flag barer already sent a few regulars and a conehead upahead to see if the plants and the walking brain container was still where Greg told them was.
Only one regular brown coat zombie came back to meet them halfway during the March, the basic brown coat was all mangled and deformed. The brown coat zombie barely survived the encounter with the enemy, he won't survive any longer either as he was falling apart.
His legs bent and mangled from pea rounds, he was missing both arms up to the elbow. There was a ice pea round buried in his right eye socket, the zombie jaw was hanging snapped off from the left side by a pea round. The brown coat was evidence to the zombie flag barer and swarm behind him that the walking brain container was still around.
The zombie hoard marched on, the mangled brown coat tried to follow but succumbed to its injuries. There wasn't anything the hoard could do to help him anyways, nor did they care too. They was all too stupid to think they had to help him. After they was zombies with an intelligence lower than a ten year old.
-With Jason and the plants-
Jason was watching the rain fall upon the earth, he was safe and dry inside of his home while also watching his plants 'play' happily in the rain. They was plants after all and needed water like any other plant. The rain didn't affect them in the slightest except for the sunflowers, they was in the house with him.
It was a neat tidibit of information that he discovered by observing the sunflowers but they don't like the rain, Jason doesn't know why specifically but he assumed for the fact the rain clouds blocked the sun. It wasn't raining heavily by any means, just typical rain of no concern besides if you was driving on the street.
Jason would rub the head of a sunflower that was on his lap, the sunflower would let out a happy noise as she quite enjoyed the attention and affection to the point she produced a sun. It was quite cute to Jason, the main reason why he was watching his plants mess around on the lawn while it rain was for the simple fact he was also keeping an eye out for any zombies that wanted his brains.
He wanted to keep watch and help his plants protect the lawn and themselves if any zombie showed up. He wasn't doubting his plants abilities, especially not when their was a large amount of them. He thought his defenses was quite flawless this early on, as long no special zombies showed up like the zombies from garden warfare with their guns and mechs.
Jason would be pretty screwed at that point if Zomboss just suddenly whips out the special zombies. Getting back on track and shaking his head of any other stray thoughts that would otherwise distract him, Jason continued to watch his front lawn and his plants.
"Seems like nothing is going to happen today i guess, welp I'll just go take a nap-" before Jason could finish his sentence he saw his plants go alert. It only met one thing, the zombies was coming as it rained outside. Jason wasted no time and went to get his sweater and trusty shovel.
By the time he got out the door he could see his plants on intense combat firing regular and ice peas upon a large wave of nothing but regular and cone head zombies. As expected the zombies was getting obliterated by the plants, heads was popping off zombies or just caving in to the point it killed the zombie instantly. Arms, legs, chests was getting bent, twisted or caved in by the force of peas being launched.
Zombies was getting slowed drastically than they already moved by the ice peas, none of the zombies was getting too close either as groups of them blew upon the overly excited potato mines who seemed to have no sense of self preservation.
It only lasted for a minute but it felt longer to Jason who stood at the back lines of his plant forces, he felt tense with his shovel ready. His heart was starting to race as he was pumped full of adrenaline, so far the zombies was still playing by the normal PVZ rules. Walking across the lawn till they either reaches the house or died.
It was a good blessing for now since the zombies aren't swarming all over the house forcing Jason to diverting his plant forces. Since the zombies was still following the game rules for now, this allowed Jason to set up kill zone of sorts where his plants can direct their line of fire towards one direction.
As soon as the first wave of zombies went down the second wave was upon Jason and his plants. This time there was more come heads mixed with the regulars, the second wave cleared up most if not all of the potatoe mines at this point though taking heavy casualties by the plants firing upon them and the potatoe mines exploding upon the zombies that stepped on them.
Jason front lawn looks like a war zone was taking place, which technically was. Zombie corpses littered the front lawn. Rotting guts and other organs spattered across the grass, arms and legs along with caved in zombie heads also littered the floor. Holes in dirt with patches of missing grass where the potato mines once was also littered the front lawn.
It was going to be a lot of work reparing his lawn, but that was the least of Jason worries as the second zombie wave went down as quickly as the first. They didn't even reach the line of wallnuts that acted as 'human' or plant shields for the plants behind them. The third wave is when things took a bit for the worse, it was mainly cone heads now with some regular brown coat zombies but what made this wave more dangerous was bucket head zombies thrown into the mix.
So far being the tankiest foe he was facing, it wasn't all bad though. The bucket heads was still slow like a normal brown coat, just as stupid as well. Even as the zombies got closer to the wall nut defensive line Jason didn't intervene, not because he didn't want to but for the fact he will be in the plants way.
It wasn't like their rounds would go through him like a video game but instead just hit him than the plant intended target, this complicated things for Jason as he wanted to join the fight with his plants than just watching like a fool with nothing to do.
That was when Jason got an idea, just as the first zombie reached the wall but defensive line. Only for it to be eaten by a chomper behind the wall nut who's sharp teeth rip and tear until it is done, the Chomper discarded the dead zombie spitting it out instead of eating it. For the simple fact that it was trained to rip zombies apart instead of slowly eating a zombie.
While battle raged on Jason would quickly head back inside into his house, he gathered some of the repeaters and peashooters to the second floor of the house and opened the windows. "You can shoot from up here!" He told the peas who quickly understood the objective.
The peas began to fire down upon the zombies, having the high ground proved very helpful in hitting the zombies towards the back while the peas on the front lawn can fire upon the zombies closest to them.
The main issue still was the bucket heads, but even they was falling upon the heavy fire of the peas. Ice pea rounds slowing them down significantly which didn't help for the already slow zombies, a small portion of the zombies reached the wallnut line and started to bite upon nut based plant.
The chompers behind the wall nuts was already chewing upon previous zombies, trying to be as quick they can to rip and tear the zombie to shreds so they can swiftly bite upon the zombie chewing onto the wall nuts. By the time those zombies that was biting upon the wall nuts died they did minor damage to the plant, they didn't break through the wallnut tough exterior but there was obvious signs of damage.
The next wave scared Jason for his plants, as a massive zombie slowly walked towards his lawn. It had large eyes, practically a giant from what Jason saw. This zombie was also holding a lamppost as it each step shook the floor a bit. Even the plants look a bit intimidated.
It was holding a telephone line, the zombie was a gargantuar . A zombie Jason did not think he and his plants would have to face so soon and the zombie was heading towards his house. All the plants immediately fired upon the giant zombie giving everything they had, the pea sounds smashed against the Gargantuar body doing little harm.
It's skin was much stronger than the weaker ones before it such as the brown coat zombies, the only good thing so far in this situation was the ice pea rounds still had the intended effect of slowing down enemies. Jason knew he had to help his plants out in the best way he could in this situation, he would quickly head back to the first floor of his home and go get his most powerful plant in terms of quick destructive power.
While Jason did the gargantuar zombie came closer and closer, stepping on zombie corpses crushing them flat with ease. The large zombie ignored all the pea rounds that hit it, even if the damage was stacking up he kept moving. Eventually he got close enough and raised the telephone line up and swing it down upon the wall nut before it, the telephone line went clean through the plant making it burst like someone popping a zit.
Plant/wallnut 'gore' went everywhere launching pieces of the wallnut shell around, not only was a wallnut killed but the wallnuts close by and chompers was launched back from the shockwave breaking the plants defensive formation. Despite this the plants kept firing upon the gargantuar, pea shooters would un root themselves and began moving backwards and spread out. They didn't all wished to be sent flying because of the blows of the giant zombie. chompers also unrooted themselves and launched themselves at the giant zombie, sinking their teeth into its legs and shook their heads like a rabid animal.
The Chompers was trying to cause as much damage as they possible could, they knew this was a death sentence for any unlucky Chomper as the gargantuar reaches down with his free hand and grabbed a Chomper and crushed it within its palm. Another chomper leaps up when the giant zombie leaned down to grab its brethren and went for the throat sinking its sharp teeth into the jugular of the zombie and ripped it out as the Chomper was swiftly swatted with the telephone line when it landed.
The chomper was sent flying towards a neighbors house wall and went splat against it from the sheer force of the blow upon impact. The chomper was dead before it even hit the wall, being struck by the telephone line the giant zombie used was enough to kill the Chomper from the blow itself. Splattering the chomper on the wall was just overkill, the missing throat to the gargantuar was an inconvenience at best but the giant was getting annoyed by all the peashooters firing upon it.
It moved slow because of the ice pea rounds but the Chompers themselves didn't properly used that to their advantage, they went in for the kill trying to cause as much damage to one spot as possible. They easily could back off but didn't think that far ahead, they was acting in the moment and that was costing them their lives.
Another chomper gets crushed by the gargantuar palm, and dropped. The number of chompers dwindled to half at this point and it's only been two minutes, that was when Jason finally showed back up on the second floor shoving aside a pea shooter and repeater. He saw the destruction the gargantuar was causing, he saw the dead chompers littering around its feet.
He saw the remains of the dead wallnut. Never before did he feel so much anger before, he was so angry he didn't even realize he was crying. The gargantuar would raise its telephone line slowly to crush a brave wallnut that was bouncing its body against the giant zombie leg, it was doing no harm than be a distraction. The wallnut did not care for it would gladly sacrifice itself as a distraction so the chances of taking down the zombie increased for its family.
Jason did not hesitate to throw not one but two Cherrybombs at the gargantuar head, in his fit of anger he did not think ahead on how powerful the blast would be if two Cherrybombs went off at once. The explosion was big, bright and deafening but also powerful releasing a shockwave that sent Jason back and the plants in the room with him agaisnt the wall. Jason almost immediately passed out as his head hit the wall with a bang, his body collapsing against the floor. Everything then went black, his last thoughts before passing out was of his plants safety. 'Please…..be safe…'
