'However, given my current identity, I can't take action now. Anyway, Bethel's Corruption can be resolved by ascending. As for Roselle, I can try to stop him from landing on the moon during his travels, so there's no rush to research the Lamp Genie...' Lynn thought to himself, nodding as he said, "I understand. If it's urgent, I'll contact him. But he's probably busy in the Forsaken Land of the Gods, so he's unlikely to come by in the next few days. Bernadette might have to wait a bit longer..."
"Hello, Miss Bernadette. Long time no see." x2
Inside Bernadette's safe house, both Lynn and Klein smiled as they greeted her.
"Long time no see, Mr. Lynn, Mr. Klein," Bernadette said, sitting somewhat stiffly. She was well aware that one of these men had close ties with the Angel of Secrets and seemed to be his human side. As for the other, though his identity was unclear, he had a special connection with her father, Roselle, possibly an old friend of his.
So even though she knew their Sequences weren't high, Bernadette still adopted the demeanor of addressing seniors.
"No need to be so formal. We've come to ask for your help..." Lynn waved his hand, not bothering with suspense. He got straight to the point: "Klein and I plan to head to the Five Seas to search for mermaids. Klein needs their song for his advancement, so we wanted to ask for your assistance."
"Mermaids?" Bernadette was momentarily stunned but quickly nodded without hesitation. "The Dawn is always ready to set sail, and I know where the mermaids frequent. However, I can't accompany you. Backlund might face unexpected events soon, and I need to keep watch here..."
"But don't worry, everyone on the Dawn is someone I can trust," Bernadette explained, though Lynn interrupted before she could finish.
"If you can't accompany us, why not have Cattleya escort us? She's probably one of your most trusted people, right? Wouldn't it be better to have her come along?" Lynn suggested with a sincere smile.
Bernadette glanced at Lynn, surprised that he knew this, but quickly reassured herself—nothing was impossible with the Angel of Secrets involved.
Since both men were trustworthy, Bernadette didn't mind them knowing the truth in this regard. She only thought for a few seconds before nodding. "That's indeed a good suggestion. I'll contact Cattleya. However, 'The Future' can't approach Backlund directly. You'll have to go to one of the Five Seas' cities first."
Lynn exchanged a glance with Klein and then nodded. "That's fine. We can take the time to enjoy the scenery of the Five Seas."
'Hmm, it would be even better if we could run into Danitz during this time. Not that it's impossible, after all...' Lynn rubbed his chin, thinking of 0-08, which had turned into a psychological tool in his hands. Some brilliant ideas came to mind.
Even though 0-08's influence was limited to Backlund, it didn't matter because Lynn could manually head to Danitz's location, script out a scenario, and have Danitz naturally run into them.
It would be a shame if the Fool's seat was missing one of its comedic members, after all.
'Besides being entertaining, Danitz was somewhat capable. In the original story, he served as a qualified Oracle, managing the people of Silver City well. He was just the kind of talent the Fool's side lacked...' Lynn nodded to himself, satisfied with his decision.
Bernadette, unaware of what the blonde youth before her was planning, focused on arranging their journey to the Five Seas. After hesitating for a moment, she asked, "Mr. Lynn, do you know where the Angel of Secrets, is right now? I have something to hand over to Him..."
"He's currently busy in the Forsaken Land of the Gods and won't be available for a while," Lynn replied candidly, looking at Bernadette. "You'll probably have to keep the Lamp Genie sealed for a bit longer. Is that manageable for you?" he added uncertainly.
"It's not much of a burden. The Wishing Lamp is still sealed, and I haven't unsealed it. Since He is occupied, I'll hand it over later," Bernadette said, shaking her head. She seemed to have more to say but hesitated.
Lynn noticed her hesitation and said directly, "If you're hoping to see your father, you can follow the usual routine tonight. The Dreamscape has been restored, and your father likely wants to see you too."
Bernadette blinked, caught off guard by the sudden exposure of her thoughts, feeling slightly embarrassed.
She did want to see Roselle. After all, they had been separated for so many years, and no matter how often they met, it wouldn't be too much. Moreover, the sudden disappearance of the Dreamscape had made her feel a little insecure, so even though she hadn't originally intended to, she now wanted to meet him.
Lynn merely smiled at this, remembering something else, and said, "It's probably a good idea. I need to see him too..."
He still had to gather relevant information and coordinates from Roselle—not just from the Ancient Era but also from Roselle's time.
Right... Lynn suddenly turned to Bernadette and asked, "If you could travel back in time and see your father again, what would you do?"
Bernadette blinked, not quite understanding why Lynn was asking this. Her expression soon softened as she recalled memories from the past. After a few seconds, she said, "I'd probably give him a hug... when everyone else had left him."
...
"So, you can actually travel back in time to over 100 years ago?"
In the Dreamscape, Roselle's eyes widened as he looked at Lynn before becoming excited. "Does that mean you don't have to wait for that scoundrel Angel of Secrets' empty promises? You can change my past now?"
"In theory, yes, but it's not that simple in practice..." Lynn shrugged, looking at Roselle. "First, pinpointing the exact moment in time isn't easy. Missing it by a bit would make it hard to catch up."
"I'm still not proficient enough with this skill. Trying to pinpoint the moment you launched yourself to the moon is tricky. There's bound to be some error, though I can always try a few more times. But that will take time..."
