Getting back to her room, Seflim slowly moves to her bed before lazily lying down as she looks towards the celling with her neat plain sheets crumbling-up under her weight.
Although elegant and in a western style worthy of nobility, Seflim's room in the spatial carriage is little compared to what she used to have as it spans four meters across in all directions. Most wouldn't dream of a room this big in a lifetime but Seflim doesn't really know or care about this as the matters concerning her room and space isn't currently on her mind.
Two weeks.
Its been long two weeks since she and her mother has departed from the Majestic comforta of her mom's Imperial Palace to embark on the long journey of finding her shadow. The journey has been expected to take half a year if she's lucky and much longer if she's not.
Knowing this, Seflim had immediately found herself a mana chamber -that mysteriously fits in the carriage- and she has locked herself indoors for seclusion as she does the most basic thing that any Newly advanced Rank One cultivator would do,.. She has been trying to sense her mana veins.
With a good Cultivation manual at hand, she has been easily able to sense and to some extent, influence the biggest and main channels that carry her heavy flow of mana. As a member of the Eclipse flood dragon bloodline, she naturally has much more mana-veins than the average person but thus also means that it would take a longer period to sense them all. With her advantages, she sensed a good Five percent of her mana veins just after two weeks of practice and meditation but her speed immediatelyslows down after crossing this milestone.
Average cultivators would take a month to sense their first vein and months to sense five percent of their Mana-veins. Sometimes, the less talented ones would even need a full year to reach even this basic milestone but despite reaching this milestone in less than two weeks, Seflim didn't feel any sense of pride.
She has cultivated two more weeks on the carriage and although the quality of the mana-chambers aren't a good, she has still sensed a good nine percent of her Mana-veins. She's a genius and even with her obvious advantages, she's still outstanding beyond limits yet,.. she holds herself back from a pat on the back.
Seflim doesn't at all veiw her mother as anything less than the strongest woman alive and as a genius but unlike her mother's blind joy at her every little breakthrough, she is a little more in-tune with reality,.. her reality.
Has she truly left all her other competition in the dust with her breakthroughs or is she just ignorant of the fact that she's the one left in the dust?.
The Empress has Eight Children, Five boys three girls and all of them are True Imperial Princesses and Princes born with the same status as Seflim but with the advantage of age. The youngest born in this line-up turns out to be a princess and she was born just three months before Seflim's own birth.
Considering the Emperor's powerful bloodline that's the same Seflim has and the Empress's even more outstanding bloodline then it would be no exaggeration to guess that they are all born with insane levels of advantages and an even better starting point than.. herself.
Sometimes Seflim sits alone to wonder, not in arrogance but in true curiousity on how on Gieă someone can be born better than she is?. Her bloodline is from a mythical creature with powerful domains over the earth, waters, light, darkness, space, light and the even more mysterious element known as fate!.
While it's impossible for one body to contain every single bit of every advantage, Seflim is still very confused as to how anyone and she can boldly say anyone at her own level.. can be even just one percent better than her in anything. Seflim is forced to think this way not out of pride but out of pure and utter confidence in who she is and what she is capable of.
She has learnt from the most capable masters and they all say she is the absolute best they have lectured,.. she has surveyed through the data of some of the so called geniuses and not even for once has she felt challenged, maybe a little amazed but not.. Challenged!.
Yet,.. her own father says she stands no chance againstthe opposition.
*FINGERS LIGHTLY CLENCHES..*.
Hearing the story of the day she was born from her mother on that high balcony has shaken a bit of her dragon's confidence.
She knows her father and she knows that he knows her inside out and backwards. She knows he loves her and she knows that although neutral, he's on her side so why was he confident enough to say such a statement so boldly?.
By any chance, are there geniuses out there that are actually.. better than her?.
*Knock*.*Knock*.*Knock*..
Seflim snaps out of her thoughts as she hears the knocking sounds from her room's doors.
*BADUM*.*BADUM*..
Her powerful heart pumps heavy from slight shock of the Knock before she immediately calms down with a brief closing of her eyes.
"Come..*Door opens and Nanny Nora steps inside*.. in.", Seflim says with her brows raised without much surprise that her Nanny came barging in before she even finished her response.
"True Imperial Princess Seflim, you look.. -*Stares at her face up then down*- down.", Nanny Nora addresses the Princess with a worried look as she gazes at the Princess's laid down figure on the Royal bed.
"I am.. looking at the roof.", Princess Seflim says calmly while casting her wide gaze up to the roof but her Nanny wasn't at all buying her bad joke.
"I'm serious princess, it's you first time out and you have locked yourself up in one room or the other. You didn't even see the spectacular view as the horses flew over the vast lands,..", Nanny Nora says with a little exaggeration in her tone as she feeds the Princess a disturbing dose of nagging.
"I would watch when we cross back over..", Seflim says calmly obviously not too interested in this so called once in a lifetime view.
"Nora?..", Seflim speaks while interrupting her Nanny's thoughts at more nagging but she soeaks in a calmer tone that shows she is surely about to change the topic.
"Yes Princess..", Nanny Nora answers more seriously while bowing her head a little.
"What do you think my shadow would be like?..", Seflim calmly asks without really looking at her Nanny.
"..Um, I don't know much about shadows but I know it would be someone you can trust, someone who would protect and die for you and someone who would.. complete you.", Nanny Nora says calmly while nodding at her own words.
"..Complete me?", Seflim says in a low tone that tells that the question is for her own self and her Nanny stands still without interrupting the young girl's thoughts.
'How would it feel to be.. complete?.', Seflim whispers in a tone too low for anyone but herself to hear.
Life for her has always seemed to be missing some colours so she cannot help but wonder how it would feel to finally complete her spectrum?.
Would she view things a bit more differently or would it all remain the same?.
Her mother has asked her a question and left the decision of filling in answers all in her hands. One answer leads her to a life of daisies and Roses and the other to a life of thorns and poison. She already has an answer she wants to give and the only reason she is holding back is because she wonders if her thoughts would change after she is finally.. complete.
Well all the answers lay in the Coastal Clan's territory and they are already well past the borders.
Patience,.. all that's left is patience.
***Meanwhile..
***In a room of an elegant Manor in the vast territory of the arm of the Court, -Coastal Clan.
It's late at night and Urus couldn't find sleep and it isn't because of the pain of his contrasting bloodlines this time.
His crooked figure looks out of his small wooden window by his right and up at the veil of darkness of the night.
An almost full moon and a fancy litter of stars.
The sight is supposed to be beautiful to bring a smile or hope to his broken soul but instead,.. all he feels is lost.
The sense of intense longing for the very unknown purpose out there has been becoming stronger lately and knowing that it's nothing but his own delusions made it worse to cope with.
Urus puts out a stale breath as he sighs to the world. Even if there is a purpose out there for him, unless the purpose out there for him is willing to come knocking at his door then absolutely nothing would change.
With emptiness on his eyes, Urus feels as the cold wind tickles his unholy skin through the windows with his hunched back shivering subconsciously.
Life for him wasn't missing colours but instead completely lacked colours. Everything is the same as the last and everyday is as tragic as the last.
The only bit of colours he ever had comes from his childhood but these days, he cannot even pinpoint a specific memory that could remind him of joy cause all of that has been replaced by either sorrow or grief.
Out of no where a question pops in his head,.. 'How would it feel to be.. complete?'.
