Chương 24: The mess in the kitchen by Aisa.
Ken and Siria reached the city, and Ken logged off.
Bip Bip Bip!
The VR pod beeped as it opened, and Ken got up and stretched. He glanced at Aisa's VR pod, which was open, signifying that Aisa had gotten out.
[When did she get out?] The system curiously asked, and Ken shrugged. "I will check." He pulled out a situation report of the VR pod and scanned it. "Hmm, 2 hours before me... fast for someone that is blessed," he remarked.
Thud!

The sound of metal hitting the floor came, making Ken worried. He rushed down to where the sound came from and looked at the mess.
[How adorable!]

Aisa was in the kitchen, sitting on the floor, where there were some spices and broken eggs.
Ken walked into the kitchen and surveyed it. The sink was filled with unwashed utensils that were very likely put there just recently. The floor was a mess; water was collecting in the corners, with the flour and spices mixed in with the water.
A pan was on the ceiling, half inside. The countertop had poorly broken eggs, and on the stove, there was a pan with a cooked egg, but there were eggshells in the cooked egg as well.
The cabinets were wide open, and one of them had broken cups.
Ken looked at Aisa, who was still sitting on the floor, and pulled her up, without a word.
Aisa looked down, her eyes a little teary, "I am sorry..." she apologized, downcast and a little fearful.
Ken didn't reply and looked at the mess, but his eyes went to the pan on the ceiling. Aisa became more nervous and scared as Ken didn't say a word, her eyes now filled with tears but refusing to fall.
Ken noticed it, plopped his hand on her head, and messed up her hair. "Don't apologize... I am rather impressed..." Ken comforted, making her peek at Ken, who was looking at the pan on the ceiling.
"Aisa... how did you manage to get that pan... umm..." Ken paused, not being able to find the right word here, "Why... no, how did that pan end up on the ceiling?" he finally asked, his tone amused and baffled.
He pointed at the pan on the ceiling, and Aisa also looked up and couldn't really say anything.
"I... umm, uh. I fell down and threw it... up..." Aisa answered and looked away.
Ken stared at her, "You know, the ceiling is made out of solid cement with a thick pole that acts as its base, right? Also, the ceiling is covered in a dark wood from an artificial tree that has the same durability as steel..." he remarked, making Aisa stunned.
"Ah..."
"Sigh, go take a shower. You are covered in eggs and spices from the waist down. Also, your hair has eggshells..." Ken helplessly said, making Aisa hurriedly check herself in embarrassment.
"I-I WILL GO NOW!!!" she shouted and ran off, leaving footprints on the floor and stairs.
Ken facepalmed, but then a burned smell came, making him look back. Aisa had forgotten to turn off the stove. The egg that was cooked was now burned black.
[Hmm, your plans for today went down the drain~!] the system cheerily commented, making Ken shake his head in a little frustration.
Ken got the kitchen cleaned and even made some food for Aisa and brought it to her room.
Aisa was drying her hair when Ken brought the food, "Here, eat up. Next time, if you are hungry, just tell me. Also, why are you even hungry to begin with?" Ken asked in confusion.

Aisa looked away, "I didn't plug the nutritional..." she whispered, but not loud enough for Ken to hear it.
"I can't hear that," Ken stated, making Aisa take a deep breath and look Ken in the eyes.
"I didn't plug the nutritional!" she said it again, but louder this time.
"...Why?" Ken asked, confusedly looking at his little sister's worry.
"The pod uses needles to feed the body nutrition... and I don't like them..." she meekly answered, making Ken nearly burst out laughing.
"Pft...!" Ken was beside her and took her hand. He pointed out to her wrist, "See this?" He pointed out a small mark, a needle mark. "The pod, regardless of having or not having nutrition, will insert a 'needle.' The 'needle' is also used to examine the health of the pod user," Ken explained, making Aisa dumbfounded.
"Now eat your food and get some rest," Ken stated and left her room.
He directly went to his room and got some rest as well.

[Good morning, sleepyhead~! You overslept~!] the system exclaimed, making Ken, who only had his eyes closed, open in annoyance. "Stop bothering already... this is the 7th time you did this..." he complained in frustration and got up.
The system had pestered him without rest. [It's already 11, you know~! And you have a small meeting with Siria. Plus, you need to submit the quest item to the association~!]
"Both can be done anytime," he complained but then grinned. "I have a decision on rewards, right? Let's decide that now," he remarked, making the system have a bad feeling.
[Umm... fine...]
"Assign me a quest first. I can't decide on a reward if the quest isn't there~!" he reasoned, and the system grumbled.

"Hmm, aren't you making it a little hard for me here? Complete a dungeon? Really now? Did you forget that I completed a dungeon in an hour?"
Ken skeptically questioned, as he reread the quest.
[Uhh... this is the natural balancer. If I set a quest, then the reward must be worth it. But since the reward wasn't mentioned, the penalty was empty, which I filled and also added a timer.]
The system grumpily explained, making Ken amused.
"Alright then, my reward is: merging my IRL status with my in-game status~!" he declared.
