Considering that the completion of the establishment of the hotel was going to be during the following day, Jack believed that it was better for them to learn about their competitors.

It might be true that the Smith family was involved in the hotel industry, but even then, Jack and Henry had never bothered themselves with this issue. They had always been thinking about the mission that they were supposed to carry out.
