Chương 29: So I'm an old man
Rachel: Fine, I will not marry him.
Bella: That's good to hear. Now try to sleep. He will also leave after sometime.
She lay down and soon she slept.
Lucas: So I'm an old man... huh?
My eyes widened at the sudden interrogation. For how long is he listening to this conversation?
I turned to look at him slowly. He stood there with his arms crossed over his chest and his one brow raised, demanding an answer. His face was blank but his eyes were commanding me to answer him.
Bella: I... I'm....I was...
I stammered and can't even form a single sentence because of nervousness. I saw him sighing looking at me and then he started walking towards me. I took a step back to give him a hint to just stand at his place and talk from there.
Because everytime he came close to me, I blushed. What's the need of coming close? But him being the Lucas Costanzo, ignored this and continued moving forward.
I took some step back to maintain some good distance between us. But my plan failed when my legs touched the bed. Seriously what's with him and cornering me?
I stood there but his steps didn't stop until his face was just a feet away from mine. But he suddenly started to move his face even closer making me lose my balance. I fall with a thump on the bed. Thank God Rachel is sleeping on the other side or else I would have sat on her hand.
I looked at her to check up on her. She's fine...she is sleeping soundly. I again turned to face him. His gaze locked with mine and this was enough to make me remember about the night we shared. Why did I remember that whenever his is here? I bet I must be flustered right now.
Lucas: Old man....look at you. This old man can make you blush again and again without even touching you Bella.
Oh his thick accent with that low voice is making me feel something in my stomach(maybe somewhere else too... my heart, of course). Bella focus. I quickly tried to clear my name.
Bella: I didn't mean to call you old man. But I said that because... aren't you too old for Rachel? I told this to make her understand. I'm sorry if it hurt your feelings.
I explained forgetting I need to breath to live. A smile broke on his face after hearing me blabber the reason. So....he is not angry right? He raised his hand and patted my head.
Lucas: I accept your apology. Besides I'm quite happy that you find me as a caring person with a good heart.
Bella: Huh...
Lucas: Don't huh me. Didn't you agreed on this with Rachel?
Bella: Yeah right. You are good and kind. Now will you please stop patting my head. I'm not Rachel?
Lucas: Oh sure.
He removed his hand from my head and forwarded his hand to help me stand. I stood up with his support. Then he got a call and left.
