Chương 45: SHALLOW

After switching off the stove, I took all the time I needed to recuperate myself as I settled on the stool next to the countertop. I don't want to face him yet, not after what happened a while ago and not while I am emotionally unstable. 

What happened earlier, that out of the blue incident that almost made me lose myself, unsteadily made my heart restless. It was still beating frantically until now, making me all jittery and cranky. 

The past few weeks had been a total makeshift for both Gabriel and I. Everything was unexpectedly an emotional turnover, especially for me. All along, I thought the kindness and gentleness he showed me would soon fade away after my mother's burial. But that didn't occur.
