Layla lets out a tinkling laugh. "Nonsense, dear. I'm sure Malik won't mind waiting a few more minutes. So why are you here?."

Robin's mind whirs, searching for a plausible explanation.Her mind choose that moment to come up blank. " Hehe, well, I was invited by a colleague!" She says, almost frantic.

Layla's gaze narrows, her perfectly manicured brows arching in a silent challenge. "Is that so?" She tilts her head, her voice dripping with feigned innocence.

"And why, pray tell, are you here so late? Where is your finance?"

Before Robin can respond, the sound of a car pulling into the parking lot catches her attention.

She turns around slowly. It's Ramsey.
