"I'm sorry. I made a mistake. Please forgive me," Nina was crying badly. Her voice was trembling as she was sobbing uncontrollably. Marissa didn't know how to react. At this point, she couldn't decide if they were real tears or just crocodile ones.
Nina couldn't be truly remorseful but tonight she wasn't trying to manipulate the situation.
Being Nina Sinclair, this must be the first time she didn't use her right to step inside her home. She didn't cross boundaries this time, this might be the first time she hadn't barreled through life on her own terms.
This time there was no force used, no entitled behaviors were flashed.
"Nina," Marissa said softly but firmly, "I need you to leave."
"Not until you forgive me, Valerie," Sophie who was standing behind Marissa, chuckled sarcastically, crossing her arms with the air of disgust.
