Nina saw her son leaving the room, gripping Marissa to himself like she was someone very precious to him.
"He seems to care for her," Valerie told her mother-in-law and Nina thanked the stars that Valerie wasn't crying this time.
"Don't be negative, Val," Nina fished for her cigarette in her purse and then reminded herself, that this wasn't her office, "Men usually care for their mistresses."
Valerie rolled her eyes with a sarcastic smirk, she didn't look convinced.
"But men don't hand over important office decisions into mistress's hands, Nina," she then smacked the table and left her seat.
"Where are you going?" Delinda who was sitting right next to her, asked her and then held her hand quickly, "You don't need to give up on your husband just like that, Mrs. Sinclair."
Val wasn't in the mood to listen to any lecture. All the people sitting there in the room were whispering to each other about Marissa and her.
