After breakfast, Andy returned to the Ravenclaw common room to continue reading.
"Ugh!"
Putting down the book, Andy sighed, slightly disappointed in his heart.
What Cho Chang brought back were all basic books, which were not very helpful to Andy.
Moreover, Andy had always fantasised that there could be some breathing and exhaling cultivation methods over in China, or that they could enhance magic power, or that they could exercise spiritual power or something like that.
It was a pity that fantasies were just fantasies after all.
The wizards in this world are all the same, magic power is innate and can only be raised as they grow older. As for the cultural differences between the East and West, it was just a different name.
As for the essence and spirit unity, the unity of heaven and man, the three flowers, the three corpses, and so on, they are all just the legends of the Muggle world, and the magic world does not have any relationship with them.
The book did record some basic magic that belonged uniquely to the Chinese side of the world, but it was just a few tricks that couldn't enhance Andy's strength at all.
If there was anything else worth mentioning, it was probably the magic pharmacology of China!
In the West, it was a magic potion, while on the Chinese side, it was alchemy.
The two sides had different production methods, but the medicinal effects were similar.
'Thought I could get some special cultivation method!'
Andy read several books in a row and finally determined once again that legends were just legends after all, with a galactic distance separating them from reality.
Hearing Andy's sigh, Hermione put down the textbook in her hands and turned her head to ask, "What's wrong? You can't read it?"
"No." Andy shook his head in defeat.
Hermione asked curiously, "Then why are you so disappointed?"
It's just that I can read it, that's why I'm disappointed!
Andy tilted his head back and looked at the ceiling, my Nine Turns Mysterious Skill, my Supreme Clear Divine Thunder, my Ascension to Immortality ...
All of them were dreams from my previous life, huh!
"These are just the most basic magic books, they don't help me much," Andy said.
Hermione smiled and rolled her eyes, "Didn't Cho tell you that already? All she got were basic books. Also, we're reading these books to understand the magic world in China and learn knowledge different from our side of magic."
"You won't understand me," Andy said with lifeless eyes.
"Hmph!" Hermione picked up the book and continued to look at it.
She thought that Andy was probably just having an intermittent fit and would be fine on his own after a while and didn't need her to worry about it at all.
It was just a waste of feelings.
There were still quite a few books that Cho Chang had bought, and Andy casually flipped through a few more.
General Knowledge of the Magic World of China
Andy's eyes lit up, this book was good.
The preface of this book made it clear that it was for some young wizards who were new to the magic world-especially those who came from muggle families.
After the Chinese wizarding community founded the School of Magic, they started enrolling students from the Muggle community as well.
Andy nodded his head broadly, this book is suitable for me.
Then, Andy flipped through the first chapter.
The main objective of this book was to tell those young wizards who came from muggle families that many muggle legends were unreliable, and that the magic world was not that magical. There were no meridians, no unity of heaven and man, and you wouldn't become immortal and live forever.
Andy: "..."
Then there was some basic general knowledge of the magic world.
Apart from the various sects and factions as well as the big magic schools, there is actually no difference in other areas from the British magic world, the only difference is caused by the different cultures of the East and the West.
Well!
Fairy tales are all lies.
Andy decided to give up those unreliable fantasies.
***
After Andy had mastered a few unique magic spells from the Chinese side, the time for class had arrived.
The third greenhouse.
As soon as Andy and Hermione walked in, they saw dozens of flower pots on a long wooden table in the middle of the greenhouse.
Half of the pots were empty, and the other half had an unknown herb growing in them.
Do we need to move herbs into different pots?
Andy had a dizzy head.
Although Andy had come from a big farming family in his previous life; when Andy was born, his family's conditions were already very good.
Not to mention farming, Andy had never even been to the countryside.
The real Andy Collins doesn't even know the difference between grains and vegetable seeds!
"It's Mandrake!" Hermione whispered.
Andy quickly turned his head to look at Miss Know-it-all, "Hermione, you know about this herb? Quickly tell me."
Hermione raised an eyebrow, "Mandrake, or Mandragora, is a powerful restorative. It is used to return people who have been transfigured or cursed to their original state ..."
"The cry of the Mandrake is fatal to anyone who hears it, but this is juvenile mandrake, and it will only cause dizziness until one blackout."
Professor Sprout walked in with a bunch of earmuffs, and after hearing Hermione's description of the Mandrake, her face, which had been somewhat unhappy, broke into a smile.
"Very well said Miss Granger, I'm going to give Ravenclaw two points."
The young witch's face broke into a smile, and she even gave Andy an unusually pleased look.
Andy did notice Professor Sprout's expression, she didn't seem particularly happy when she first came in.
Had anyone pissed her off?
"Alright, class, our lesson today is to replant the Mandrake."
Professor Sprout stood at one end of the long wooden table, and after gazing around the room, she inquired aloud, "Just now Miss Granger has already told us about the characteristics of Mandrake, now can anyone tell me how to raise Mandrake?"
An absolute silence fell over the greenhouse.
The academic blokes were lost in thought and were pretending that they didn't exist. The academic masters were thinking hard and trying to remember what they had learnt about Mandrake - it was just a pity that it was second-year knowledge.
Only one of the schoolgirls, Miss Know It All, raised her hand high in the air.
Andy was a small step away from Hermione, eyes glued to the mandrake in the pot, and was trying to analyse the environment in which it thrived.
That's right, in Herbology class, Andy was also a failure as a student.
Professor Sprout pursed her lips unhappily and her eyes looked around before finally settling on Hermione.
Andy sighed in relief.
With only Hermione raising her hand, Professor Sprout wouldn't call anyone else, right?
Having a class with Hermione was a blessing.
"Mr Collins ..."
Professor Sprout's voice was like a demonic whisper, "You're going to tell us, what's the best way to raise Mandrake?"
Andy stiffened and looked up just in time to meet Professor Sprout's less-than-happy eyes.
If a student was bad at all subjects, a teacher would just assume that the student was an idiot.
But if a student has perfect scores in all the other subjects, and is only bad in one class ...
The teacher would just think, this student doesn't like the class I teach.
That's what Professor Sprout thought.
Why does Andy only have an E in Herbology and an O in everything else?
Why?
"Plant it in a pot first, then water and fertilise it ..." Andy said a million-dollar answer.
That's how all plants are grown, right?
